Their revenue is around the same as ours, and we’ve been commercially sabotaged for over a decade, and they’re facing FFP issues. I’m not sure how the £600m would make sense, but if it’s a leveraged buyout it might be plausible.

I don’t think Maddison is really a lazy player, I just don’t think he’s particularly athletic or strong, and when he’s in a 50/50 challenge the chances are he will lose it. He might still make a good signing, but I can’t help but wonder if we’re in a position to get someone better. Maddison isn’t the superstar signing for us that he would have been last summer.

Maddison is a very talented footballer, and he would probably do really well in a side that totally dominates possession, I think he would make a decent signing for Man City as a squad player. A big problem at Leicester though is their best players (Maddison, Barnes, and Tielemans) are pretty shit out of possession. They lack intensity in their pressing and they’re soft in challenges.

I would drive up the price for Spurs (who I think he will sign for), but I think he’s not suitable for us.

Out of curiosity, who else has absolutely excellent technique? If Gordon’s is excellent, how would Bernardo Silva’s technique be described? To me Gordon has very average technique for a player in his position. We need wingers that have creativity to compete with the best of the best, I don’t see how anyone see’s this potential in Gordon.

As great as it is to see what Brighton have done, it also exposes the flaw of how the game is structured. They’ll be picked apart by the rich year after year until what they’ve been doing doesn’t work anymore. For a club like that, even if it’s run perfectly, you need big outside investment to be a long term threat.

Deserved for the dodgy 8 minutes and the empty stadium. Good teams are wasted on pathetic fan bases like Arsenals.

Not opposed to it if it helps us go big on bonafide purples elsewhere.

De Bruyne is on another level to Gerrard.

To be fair, you couldn’t find anyone on here that actually rated him before we signed him. He’s got a lot to prove. This isn’t likely at all but ideally I would loan him out next season, I just don’t think he’s ready for us and sitting on the bench won’t help either.

He threw himself to the floor but his foot was kicked. Pen IMO.

There’s a lot of positive things about Robinson, but his defensive positioning is suspect. He would need some work.
