  1. Those three alone would solve our defensive woes I'm 100% certain. Sign them up Big Sam!!
  2. well if anything, we have Ben Haim in the bag - better than Gooch, Bramble, Moore, Carr, Baba and Ramage put together
  3. He's been absolutely abysmal. abysmal is a harsh word. I don't think he's played enough to warrant such judgement and criticism. definitely not a worst signing imo
  4. I've been saying in the past I would rather another manager such as Hitzfeld or Ramos over Big Sam. However now he's has been appointed I must say I am satisfied with this decision. Congratulations Sam Allardyce. We are behind you, bring back the glory days and howay!
  5. What's wrong with Lee at Boro?? Was basically bought for peanuts, raised revenue at Boro and played a handful of decent games..nothing great but nothing to warrant as a worst signing
  6. Woo~ Same Old Same Old....yep that single vote is me I still think Ramos is still the man for the Toon....I'm gonna go put a tenner on his 'potential' appointment...it ain't over till the fat lady sings RAMOS RAMOS RAMOS
  7. where's he get all the money from tho??? If he's putting the club under enormous debt....calculated gamble?? Only time will tell....
  8. Not quite sure how you reached that conclusion. Through his powers of making s**** up. You must have taught him well. Nothing to do with me. He makes his own ITK bollocks up, and believes whatever the papers say. Everything i say is my own opinion, i'm quite clear on that. Cheers. Mate, am messin. Can't someone have a bit of banter round here anymore. Not if you accuse innocent passers by of that kind of ITK bollocks, no. That sort of thing scars a man, leavs him a broken shell of a human being, unable to carry on without professional help. Or something. I never take what I write on here too seriously. Those who know me know that. My f****** keyboard is drivign me mental. << Look! I left that one in!! keeps on missing out letters and numbers. Stupid microsoft. I am so sick and tired of these bad spellers/typers. Learn to spell man! 2 weeks ban with Skirge.
  9. I wouldn't be suprised tbh. I can just see Freddie the day after Pearson's appointment: "He was the fan's choice"
  10. And were going nowhere BETWEEN cups - give credit where it's due. That's because they are a canny lot. They were lambasted in before WC 2002 and the same in 2006. If anything it's another reason not to hire Jurgen because we'll just be hiring him because of 6 home matches. Wake up mate. Seriously why would any of those managers come to Newcastle United, just think about it. mate, its best to aim high....u never know....freddie might decide to throw some cash round instead of his weight. TBF, he did get Owen- one the world's biggest stars?
  11. Pretty much sums up my sentiments exactly. I don't think there is a "hatred" for Sam...but I think someone described it on soccernet.com well - he just doesn't have the "factor x" that the top teams look for. In my eyes appointing Sam would be like appointing Curbishley, Pardew or Harry Redknapp. They are decent or good managers - but not TOP managers. I'm hoping for Ramos...but I'd be happy with SGE tbh
  12. As I said - Big Sam doesn't convince me as the man to take us forward significantly. Juande Ramos for me
  13. First thing's first - I want Roeder and Fat Fred out and I would have Big Sam over Roeder any day. However I just don't feel he would be the 'right' manager to take us to the level of Man U, Chelski, Liverpool, Arsenal. Yes he may bring stability to the club, yes he may sign some decent players with a tight budget and yes he may develop a pretty solid backline and we will be a competitive squad...but that's it - we will be competitive but I can't see us winning trophies. I'm happy for Sam to be appointed, but as a short-term/medium-term manager. If we are going for the long-haul to compete with the best, where we were and should be, why not go for a world class manager straight away eg Hitzfeld. (i realise it will be very difficult - especially with our status dropping the last few seasons..but it's not impossible. We convinced Owen here right?) Maybe I'm just overambitious and we need to take things step by step but from what I have seen of Bolton so far, despite their successes Big Sam doesn't convince me as being the man to bring back the glory years.....anyway i predict Roeder will still be here at the start of next season...and get sacked 4-5 games in
  14. Completely agree with you. I also want someone like Benitez or Mourihno but we all know that Shepherd is not that smart and never will pay the manager 5-6m a season. So i guess Allardyce is the most realistic target at the moment and we better grab our chance now rather then waiting for next season when after the first 10 games of the season we will have 2 wins,3 draws and 6 defeats and Shepherd will be forced to sack Roeder and then maybe someone like Steve Bruce will come as a potential candidate Because the two managers you give as examples play football you could sit and watch all day? Both basically play the same style as Bolton with a few more stars. Don't think so tbh...all teams have a strong emphasis on defence and building around a strong backline but I don't think you can say the basically have the same style. In the terms provided by Football Manager it seems generally liverpool like to play a "short passing" game whereas Bolton is more "direct". Chelsea would be similar to Bolton with a more direct style and usually playing one up front (ie Drogba) ...but that's my 2 cents worth.... almost missed the last bus...but thanks to some dude getting pissed and passing out in the bus I was able to catch and not walk home...
  15. I voted Spurs...just really really dislike them this season. But Man U and Chelsea (ie glory seekers) I constantly dislike.
  16. I was in France watchin the Euro 2000 final between France and Italy. Italy was winning 1:0. After the goal I said if Pires and Trezeguet come on they'll win...rest is history...
  17. Ramage to Rooney last season
  18. I remember this Warczecha bloke - he was like the Polish version of Ian Rush...i just remember seeing him and his moustache and laughing thinking 'that bloke looks like a school teacher'....then he would score...i was impressed...played for panathinaikos from memory
  19. Daniel Amokachi - my brother and I thought he was going to be the biggest hit in the prem after 94 WC...talkin bout everton wat about Paul Rideout... pretty random. Couple of others that come to mind - paolo sousa and vassily tsartas.
  20. Jason Lee and Neil Shipperley
  21. For me personally Martins > Anelka a the moment and for the future. Thing is, if I remember correctly, Roeder said words to the effect last season that he would buy players with Premier League experience. I understand his reasoning was that they would not have to adapt to the english game thereby creating another [insert failed foreigner at Toon name eg Luque]. Anelka's credibility > Roeder's credibility tbh
  22. Kevin Keegan? to an extent SBR Rudd Gullit? sexy football anyone?
  23. i really don't like the idea of Big Sam as our manager....we should be looking at a manager who can get results playing attractive football.
