that's a BIG call - given we've had Souness, Gullit, Roeder in charge and I'm pretty sure I've seen countless games that were far far worse during those periods. Had Souness or Roeder been in charge today, we'd have conceded that early goal, slowly lost any kind of grip we had on the game, and in the end, lost any chance of a comeback going down to another late goal to make it 0-2. At least with Sam there's always fight in the team, and some semblance of an idea of how to get back into a game. Not so sure about that. Roeder had even more plan with the play and formation than Sam seems to have. But didn't have the same squad to pick from... -And of course the injuries (that many people - who had made up their mind that Roeder's Sh** - get mad about if mentioned.... ) I'm happy about Roeder taking Norwich from a hopeless situation, and up the table. Merry Christmas Mr. Roeder! Roeder had the least plan and formation from all those managers. I can actually see what Big Sam is trying to do. Roeder had no idea except trying to be on everybody's good books (except luque) and pretend to act like the model manager. Besides the grammar, I agree with what most of Zero's post. The important thing is - here is a manager with a decent track record and someone who is trying to build the club up. Give him a bit of time. For the record, I was not a Sam supporter. He wasn't my first choice. But he's clear as to what he wants to do and he's definitely different from Roeder, Souness or Gullit. I just had bad feelings about them from the start. Big Sam seems alright. He gets my full support...at least till the end of the season anyway.

mackems.gif I was trying to read the content of the first post but this made me lose it

I agree with Ginola - was absolutely amazing on his day. For me in order of nostalgia: Shearer Zidane Ronaldo I have so many memories of USA 94 - although many would argue otherwise, I loved that tournament -Romario, Baggio and Hagi were amazing in that tournament. As was Hong Myong Bo.

YES! Thanks guys for confirming the news. I will sleep well tonight

Where's this source from...I gotta see it to believe it...I don't want to get my hopes all high and find out he's still at the club tomorrow!

Well done lads...would have ruined my day if we lost but was really happy with the result and especially with the performance. Just keep it goin. Smith looks better up front. Not a fan but def a much much better player up front.
-
my sentiments exactly. my 2 cents in relation to this match: I'm not an Alan Smith fan and he didn't have that much this game but he looks much more comfortable playing forward (or is it just me that feels more comfortable?) geremi is not the player he was i'm a fan of rozenhal but what was wrong with him planting his feet in the ground and letting blackburn players past him? where the hell was emre? either way if we play like we did last night agains arsenal we might have a chance against them.

Man U tbh...I swear they have a "buy ugly" transfer policy
-
luque never said he was not going to try and play his best football. sure his main motivator was money but that doesn't mean he was going to go out and intentionally try and play badly. Anyway, as most people said - honest interview.
-
wow. I'm like abcdefg - I actually thought the guy was entertaining and much more animated than other managers. Don't think he'll jump back into football for a while tho.
-
Rio is just plain ugly. No wonder he fits in well at Man Utd with their "buy ugly" transfer policy.
-
I hope Emre stays. I'm sure SA could get the best out of him and he'll show what a quality player he is. If he's hell bent on going, well then there's no point in keeping an unhappy player.

best thing for me was that the defence looked solid. yes wigan haven't got the best attack but Cacapa and Rozzer looked really good. More than anything, you can see Cacapa's experience with how he plays the ball etc. with Beye, Faye and Enrique on board as well....absolute gold. Well chuffed

muchas gracias nobby.... remember seeing you on soccernet back in the day daglish signed you from boca. you have been a legend since. word of advice - watch out for that kid bowyer
-
Gotta love coach's optimism i agree with a lot of what you say...but one thing is...I just can't see owen adapting to 4-3-3. will like to see what Big Sam comes up with...
-
is that Lee Bowyer standing over him? Could it have been Bowyer that laid the final blow??
-
RIP
-
Agree with being toothless in the final third....just lacked any sort of creativity and never looked like scoring in the second half.
-
happy we got that amount of money for him. hope that gives Big Sam more money to spend for other signings
-
I think he played for Sunderland.
