Oi! Take a guess which federation of a massive, once proud football nation failed to procure a friendly for the FIFA date? Corrupt, incompetent fools.

Osman is good, but he's an aging, fairly unremarkable player who won't push England forward or be part of any tournament past 2014. It would be fantastic for his career if he received the call-up, as he deserves it, but in my view it would really be somewhat pointless. He'll never be an important player for your national team. In many ways he suffered from late development. He didnt really make a name for himself until he was 24-26, and by this time no one cares about you.

Mediocre? Our first opponent qualified for the Champions League by all rights, and our second won the Champions League and then invested 100 million or so pounds to a squad that was already talented. Villa aren't a great side, yeah, and that is match we should be winning, but they put up a credible performances under pressure from all sides, and we never got started. If most people had gotten the transfer window they desired, we would have exchanged Simpson for someone of higher quality and brought in a striker/wing forward. The injury problems are just unfortunate, and would have always affected us badly. This Everton that are meant to "bum" us lost to West Bromwich in their last match, which is essentially equivalent to our result as it was away.

Just like Tiote, I can't think of any team that values him to the point that they will match Everton's valuation, which will inevitably be very high. I don't think he will be as important to a higher quality team as he is at Everton. If you put him in the midfields of Chelsea, Real Madrid, etc, he'll look like a good player, but not one worth 30 million pounds.

That is brilliant from Cisse. Brilliant reactive finish, but typically poor from Barry. Cote D'Ivoire are in trouble now

Massive goal for Senegal. Away goals in Abidjan are not easy to come by. Important result to take back to Senegal if they can keep it 1-0 or 1-1. Was N'Doye, whom we've been linked with before. Cisse chested it down.

Given it is the US, you'd think the one thing they wouldn't lack is pure pace and strength, but the side is definitely very pedestrian when you watch them. Not that I'm a regular viewer, but Jamaica ran circles around them in midfield.
-
What is the situation with this Gyau, anyway? I've heard decent Americans raving about the guy, but from my own research, he is twenty in a week and doesn't have a first team appearance in his career.

From what I can tell, the game will be streaming live on Youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/africacupofnations It should be a good match, if anyone would like to watch. It is a good initiative by CAF, but it seems just to be the one match. Easy access to Nigeria-Liberia, Zambia-Uganda, Libya-Algeria, etc. would be great. It's funny seeing Egypt as well. They won the whole tournament in 06, 08, and 10, but didn't qualify for 2012 and haven't made the final round of qualification for 2013. It is mad what a minor revolution can do to your football.
-
It's mad seeing that stadium full. This time last year, you could actually walk in for free. Adam Jones is better than anyone on New York, btw.
-
That's the problem with him. It is actually embarrassing that someone who is so physically intimidating has so little effect on the game. When he asserts himself, he actually looks like a player worth talking about. Jamaica's final ball is very poor.
-
What the hell was the Jamaican left back attempting to do?
-
The Jamaican anthem is horrendous. How many times can they have the word "Jamaica" in the song, ffs. At least fifteen times.
-
I won't ever understand why Canada and Jamiaca are so desperately poor at this sport.
-
Regardless of the number he's been allocated, I think Dempsey at Tottenham will go much the way of Pienaar at Tottenham. I think Pienaar is actually a better footballer at the end of things.
-
 Hazard would have only cost the fourty million, I suppose.
-
LOOK AT THIS GUY!! LOOK AT HIM! WORLD CLASS!! at Newcastle United.
-
They are very skint and on the verge of bankruptcy, not a good example. I'd say they are a slightly more successful version of you under Shepherd. And yet they managed to keep hold of this amazing striker. How brilliant, everyone knows that you've got no choice but to sell your best players. Nearly as impressive as us. He was bought for nearly 50 million euro, will be on massive wages, and is his prime. It would be almost impossible for a club to buy him, unless Atletico were genuinely in poverty.
-
Ivanovic and Lampard are nowhere to be found when Atletico are attacking. Both are them are gaping holes in the defence. We should have signed Turan all of those years ago.
-
Yes. Both sides are playing their first teams. More interestingly, Courtois, who is on loan from Chelsea, starts tonight against Chelsea. It is bizarre that this is allowable by the rules.
-
Wow. When did Efe Ambrose go to Celtic? Decent move for him.
-
I disagree that we are weaker, but still I think the window is unacceptable. The positions in the team that hurt us last season are still there. The same deficiencies remain. The only difference is we now have to deal with the weight of expectation and the rigours of European competition. A bit OTT.

Essien linked to Arsenal. He would actually be on of the worst signings of all time.
