  1. Essentially he's been swapped with Olic.
  2. I am jealous of any nation that can sit and name eleven players under twenty who "are actually quite brilliant". It is impossible to know so early in the career. Players like Welbeck and even Moses who plays with us now, I wouldn't have predicted them to make the developmental leap they did this season.
  3. I don't think he will ever come to fruition. The boy is a decent passer and an alright touch, but he is lacking in physicality and attacking drive. He reminds me of Guthrie, with the skill set of a deep-lying playmaker, but completely lacking in the engine and strength necessary to play there in Engand.
  4. The last few games of this have been rubbish.
  5. I thought you was taking the p*ss. A Premier league badge of honour? f***ing hell man! He's 6'1, strong, has a great leap and great movement, that's why he's one of the best headererers of a ball in the world, not because he used to play in England. Demba Ba is 6'2 and a good leaper, Cameron Jerome is a similar height and also an impressive leaper, so is Nile Ranger. I am 6'5 and a decent leaper. None of the above head the ball as well as Ronaldo. Why is this? Obviously it is to do with technique and ability.
  6. Tarabbt was actually quite good in the later games for QPR when Hughes had fully taken control of the squad. Warnock initially struggled to incorporate him into what was a defensive, reactive side. I thought he was vital in some of the impressive victories they had late on. I would expect a good season for him if he remained at an improved QPR, tbh.
  7. I don't agree about Ba. He is also five years older. Let him develop before making such blanket statements . Where were our two boys at 21? He has massive physical talent and is very skillful.
  8. Not really. He is a less talented, more energetic version of Ricardo Fuller.
  9. If he's under the impression that there are girls anywhere in England as fine as those in Madrid, he's gonna be searching for quite some time. London girls were sharp, tbf. A very pleasant and diverse selection of females. Reading, Nottingham, and Liverpool were barren, though. I hope Newcastle is at least decent or better than Wigan.
  10. It is especially maddening because he is essentially a non-athlete. You often see powerful and composed DMs (Tiote, Diarra, Mikel, Busquets, etc. ,etc.) who are brilliant at maintaining possession under duress, using their physicality to get some separation and releasing the ball. Iniesta, who is a midget with little muscle mass or physical explosiveness, not only does that, but also continues into the attacking phase and creates shooting opportunities for others. He is an incredible player to watch.
  11. "The truth about life in Wigan is there is nothing to do. It is a crappy place. The town is tiny and there is no atmosphere. I go into training, I return home, and that is all I do. "When it snowed I felt like it was minus 15, and feared I was going to turn into an ice cube." And when asked about the girls, Diame said: "It is rare to see truly beautiful girls when you go out during the day.But it's a different story when you go out in the evening. The girls seem to cover themselves up all day, only to be in good-looking mode at night. In Madrid, I had the impression that all the women were beautiful." London was a factor.
  12. Has there been any movement with the Kalou to Lille rumours? It was reported as something of a formality before.
  13. The point was more that they wouldn't need the money at this point in time, especially for a blooming French international, who is currently in the spotlight and under contract for several more seasons.
  14. Shouldn't try to apply logic to a national team that chooses Downing, Kelly, Henderson and Milner over the likes of Richards, Johnson, Sturridge and Carrick. If he was that interested in England, he would have waited. He originally accepted a call-up in 2011, when he was only 20. However, extreme Nigerian shenanigans ensued from both sides and he was freely available as late as February of this year. Don't forget, we managed to miss out on ACN 2012, so there was no incentive of playing in a tournament. There is also precedent, with the likes Onuoha and Owomoyela, who waited until their mid-twenties to clarify their position. If he is really going to Chelsea to replace Kalou, he will play many matches, but never be considered first choice, regardless of how he performs. The Russian runs that club, and his biggest investments will not sit on the bench. QPR's three year plan seems to be "Pay ridiculous wages, be relegated".
  15. QPR have a good amount of money and play in London. You would think they were an attractive enough proposition to avoid dealing with rubbish like Ireland and Green. It was the foreign signings (Diakhite, Cisse, Taiwo, even Faurlin was their best midfielder earlier) that has kept them out. Every English "Premier League experience" player they've bought has been rubbish and is now overpaid.
  16. The point about dealing the price is obvious, but it is still something of an insulting bid given that he is currently starring for France and that Lille have just received fifty million euro for a player.
  17. Premier league goals=(Eredivisie goals X 0.4 X β)
  18. I thought we would see nothing, given he is out of contract and 25. Simpson is contracted until 2013. Forster 2014. Surely we get something for the former? I thought he was actually out of contract, rather than just a dispute.
  19. I thought we would see nothing, given he is out of contract and 25.
  20. The point is, people go to ground to gain the foul. When its totally clear to everyone except the ref, the lines men and you I maintain that most players go to ground because the referee will not call it if they stay on their feet. If there is no advantage to be gained from standing upright, and you have an injustice has been performed against you, falling down is the most reasonable course of action, frankly.
  21. People who think going to ground when being fouled is somehow cheating.
  22. Italy still go out if Croatia score, yeah?
  23. Was that Cesc or Xavi with the lob? Amazing goal.
  24. See, this is the reason for tika-taka. Spain can not actual defend competently in the traditional way.
  25. This head to head is such rubbish. I will keep saying it until someone of relevance hears me. They use it in the AFCON and our qualifying as well. Is there a real concrete reason that Croatia isn't going through? Their draws were less impressive than than Italy and Spain's? Draw is draw.
