Sunderland aren't even playing particularly well, yet they are the much better side. Manchester are playing terribly.

What is the point of this argument? "Wolves are rubbish. We almost lost to them, but actually it was a good result, but we didn't actually deserve the point that we got". People are talking in circles.
-
Other than Berbatov and Evra, it arguably is their strongest XI. This XI just isn't particularly all that good. What's happened to Park, btw?

No one is seated four minutes before kickoff, so you figure it is something to do with traffic or congestion.

Carroll, Nolan, Shola, Lovenkrands, Ranger, Xisco

Obviously it comes down to personal opinion, but I would take Miller, Bednar, and Fortune over Shola, who is really a constantly injured, inconsistent nothing. -

We're only comfortably better than Blackpool, imo. Rodallega is better than anything we have. Blackburn have a good mix of powerful experienced players along with a talent in Kalinic. Davies is better than Carrol right now, and Elmander/Klasnic are better than anyone after Carroll. West Brom have an eclectic mix of strikers, but I really like one or two of them. The only trusted striker at this club has never played a full season in the top flight of any major league. -
I honestly would not care how we won. Things like this will go for us and against us. It is part of sport. Most every game has some form gamesmanship. Almost everyone on these forum has participated in gamesmanship while playing a sport. I would be euphoric if we won in this manner.

It's a competitive game, man! The men are being paid to do all they can to win for the badge on the front of their shirt. Like most people, I have different values in my everyday life then I do on the court/pitch. I'm generally a ruthless man in the field of play. dangerous man

If you are not falling, you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. The penalty of being caught is not enough to deter it given the possible benefits, and there is a good chance you will not be caught at all. Personally, I don't think this ruins the game or is cheating at all. I much rather be the "cheater" lining up for a free kick opportunity then the "honest" player watch the other team break for a counter.

He probably was. Just a very easy player to like. Some idiots still think he should be playing for SE. He was a very good player in the earlier part of the decade, but was very much a peripheral figure by the time Wigan signed him. We were all surprised that he was in the Premiership. colin....All I know is that when he came out at 16 he had birthed several children and was a professional policeman. Make of this what you will. With most players there is enough anecdotal evidence to to figure that if they did cheat it was by a couple (1-3) of years at most. With Aghahowa, anything is possible.
-
Julius Aghahowa? He had spent years being awful in Donetsk before they signed him. Nigeria wasn't calling him and he could barely get a game up there. They didn't do their research. Also, everyone knew the situation with him. He was a policeman when he had his debut at "16". They should have just asked somebody. I think he would get pushed around, tbh. Even in France and Portugal he was very weak on the ball.
-
He's only erm.....21. He'll come good. Amazing that he wasn't even on the US squad.

Fair point. However, I know that when I am watching or playing football, the goal is to win. If there is contact in a dangerous area and the player stays on his feet, it is likely that he is depriving his side of a set piece opportunity. It is simply the smart decision in the situation. This is why players do it. If referees gave out red cards, called fouls when players didn't fall, or were better at deciphering dives, then players would stay on their feet. In the current situation, anyone who doesn't fall is actually hurting their team.
-
Any player who doesn't fall down when contacted in or around the box is an idiot. *Unless you can create an easy scoring chance or have a yellow card.
-
Ramires reminds me of Essien except that he is significantly worse at every aspect. He seems a bit headless too, as if he isn't too intelligent player on the pitch.
-
Ridiculous. Chelsea haven't done anything and we are 2-0 down. Rubbish decision. Rubbish game. What did he do wrong. His hands were behind his body.
-
Some horrific defending from OM thus far. The first goal was a gift. Cheyrou was a hologram on the post. It's a shame because Chelsea have looked a bit off.
-
I don't like the team that Deschamps has put out. Discouraged about the game, now. Valbuena, Taiwo, and Ayew have all been big for us late (especially the first two). Naturally, all three have been dropped. I cannot believe that Cisse is still an ever-present in the side, with most of the players fit. I'm just hoping that consecutive matches against Chelsea destroy them and their morale.
-
like who? I detest posts like this one. Pointless nonsense. There are innumerable right wingers in the world that are better then Wayne Routledge. If you mean to imply that we cannot get a player better than Wayne for eight million pounds, you are astonishingly wrong.
-
I agree that he has all the tools, but he's 25 years old in a few days. If he was going to be very good, that side would have shown it self by now. He's an average Championship player.

Man City V NUFC Pre Match Thread -Sun Oct 3rd 1.30pm (live on espn)

That's a good point actually. Their midfield is gonna murder us. They bullied Chelsea in midfield, really dreading our midfield battle with them. They didn't really. Everyone sat back, and they were able to soak up Chelsea's pressure because none of the three midfielders were goal threats. The goal came from a counter after Ramires inexplicably gave the ball away when he should have cleared. The situation against us will be much different. They will need to attack us. You'll notice they really didn't make many chances on Saturday. I think it will be a good battle from us, but we'll lose 1-0,2-1, or 2-0. -
I know that coward chanting at Beckham dirtied his pants when he turned around and came back at him.
-
I raise you Stephen Carr. Carr was costing us a goal maybe every three or four games. Perch has been costing us, or nearly costing us every single match. Six games, 5 yellow cards and an own goal. Worst player we've ever paid money for. The card are annoying, but I'm struggling to think of all these goals he has cost us.

There was Peter Odemwingie. And many other decent players across Europe and the world Is our buying limited to players in England or something? Even a club like West Ham have gotten in good players like Nsofor and Piquionne for nothing.
