  1. Matthew Upson was horrendous I thought. Amazed he started for England, considering they were saying King was fit. Not a player for this level. When England fans see Upson and Heskey trotting onto the pitch in an England shirt, they ust feel the same way I do when Kaita and Danny Shittu (easily the widest player in WC 2010) suit up for us. Suicidal. Especially as much better players are overlooked for them in both cases.
  2. Wooft they would be great signings. Will probaly combone to be less than Milner. Brilliant transfer strategy from Man City. Very true, idiots. 35m Euro's much better business. The pound is still worth something like 1.25 Euroes these days. So, yes I would consider it better business to spend 35 million euro on two players better than James Milner, than to spend 35 million euro on James Milner.
  3. I think you're underestimating Suarez.....slightly.

  5. He's one of those players that when I watch him, I can tell that he's very good, but I'm not overly impressed as to see why he's considered one of the world's best young stars.
  6. This Africa United thing at this WC. I'm fine with African solidarity, but Nigerians supporting Ghana is a bigger national disgrace than email scams. It is like NUFC throwing themselves behind SAFC in a CL campaign. supporting our biggest rival because our own didn't do the job. Ghana are the team I would least like to win. It is there national pasttime to yab Nigerians. Much like Sunderland, I didn't hear anything from them the first 16 years of my life, but they have been a constant prescence since 2006, multiplying like bacteria. I hope Uruguay score G-h-a-n-a on Friday. 5-0.
  7. It is not even rare for people to be put off by interracial relationships. I even know that from personal experience. From what I see and hear around the world, I have no reason to believe anything there is said jokingly on that place. I'm sure you could find somthing similar for blacks and asians and so on.
  8. You damn right I did, man. I towered over him and explained that this is how they make em in England (utter lie). He was most impressed. I'm sure he was impressed by the fact that a random stranger was taller than him.
  9. T Irrelevant. Even in rich countries the best players grow up poor. Rich people are fat. ..and the fattest are americans. ps You think we'll see more of Appiah? Plenty of poor people in America and every other Western nations. The key s to get them in rich people's facilities when they are in their teens so they can polish their games. It's something we definitely don't do enough of in Africa. Let's not forget Ghana are going about it without Essien. Nigeria are also missing their best midfielder and best striker in qualifying. The Us are missing one of their best strikers and England are missing their best centreback. One injury cannot be a valid excuse in a sport where at least eleven play every match.

  12. Ghana were rubbish second half. They'll need to improve to have a chance against Uruguay. I thought they were very sloppy in defence. The US defence and central midfield are so average thar it is painful. I actually lkike their forward line and wings especially if Davies can recover and Adu ever comes around. The rest of the is awful apart from Howard.
  13. I hope both of these teams lose. Heavily.
  14. The games last night and so far today have been brilliant for drama/tension. Algeria have probably the worst strikeforce in the tournament and it shows. They be decent if they had any threat upfront.
  15. Not watching or anything, but he generally is except for one moment in each match where he just destroys a defender with speed and physicality. Yakubu. The words Yakubu and Kaita still anger me right now. My comment wasn't even meant to be antagonistic, unless you are actually Mr. Altidore. . Any I can sympathise with how you'll feel in 45 minutes after your team goes out. Just shaking your head and questioning what the hell happened. At least you live in a country that doesn't really care.

  17. England should now just bench Heskey for the rest of eternity. He's not even the best English striker at his club (not even one of the ones in your country) and he's starting upfront!! Defore and Rooney should play the rest of the tournament, imo.
  18. Up Algeria and england today. Algeria and England to go through, hopefully. I don't like the Us, but Slovenia shouldn't make it after being gifted a point against the US. Not that I care though, Sani Kaita's Bruce Lee moment and Yakubu's brilliant goal-line clearance are still playing through my brain.
  19. Baba! What happened with Nigeria, man? Is the Odemwingie era over yet? Man, look at this guy getting mouth These boys get gifted one goal and want to talk. The Odemwingie era?! He didn't even start yesterday. Anyway, I do not understand why people are so quick to castigate and ridicule my team. We lost to one of the best teams in the world, and the world's best player gave us trouble. Clearly this means we are rubbish. We started the game very poorly and I thought we were either overawed or nervous. However, when we settled down and started to play (and put Osaze and Oba on--these should start) we gave a decent account of ourselves and made some very good chances. People will say Enyeama saved us, but he's the best keeper in Africa. This is not some fluke. We do miss Mikel Obi, though. I like Haruna and Etuhu will do for now, but Kaita is a wastepipe. The bottom line is that if Kalu Uche can hit an open net (the easiest chance of the game) we get a draw. Anyway, it is important we only lost by one. If Argentina take care of business against Korea and we get a positive resulot against Greece, it puts us in a decent position to qualify. What's up with Taiwo's injury..? According to the Nigerian papers here in Lagos, he is a gametime decision. The injury was not serious.
  20. we Having players of Turkish and Polish heritage is like England having players of Scottish and Welsh heritage. It is simply bound to happen due to geography.

  22. Adriano's girth is astounding.
  23. Cannot wait. I love the World Cup, and it's been eight years since I've had a team to support in it. Saturday is the day for me. Can't wait to watch us on the world stage even if every thing is not to plan. Still think we can grab second place in that group, despite all the problems. Would have felt much better with Mikel and Ike Uche, though. There really isn't a clear favorite, imo. A number a teams could win. Regardless, I am looking forward to taking in sport's greatest spectacle again.
  24. Jimmy Brian joined Lyon, btw.
