Slightly gutted, I miss the player he was before that injury. best finisher the premiership has had since robbie fowler before that injury I like the player, but that is a ridiculous and outrageous statement. Good luck to him in Ukraine anyway. He'll br used to the cold, and their constant prescence in Europe will be a good platform for him to show the world that he can regain his old form.

If you want to appreciate Klose, just watch Cacau fantastic deisplay of uselessness over the course of a match.

I love the third place final. I love the WC. Even though my own teams outing has depressed and angered me this time, I still feel like it is too short.Want to experience as much as I can before it goes away again.

It's enjoyable to see PSG constantly throw Euros around without making themselves any better than midtable alsorans. Why the hell would you feel for him? He's a multi-millionaire who gets to play football for his job. The rest is superfluous. Russia isn't a rubbish league either. All the Moscow clubs have currency to burn and the money has made it quite competitive. He'll get more first team play, a chance to compete for serious silverware and a brilliant shop window in the CL.

Considering every Inter match is televised, I don't see why this would be a problem at all.
-
He was good. Explosive and showed alot of passion playing for Inter, had 1 season where he got 20+ goals...not bad for somebody who had 'better' players ahead of him. Like I said at the time Inter fans were on the majority dissapointed to see him go. They handed the keys to the team to him and Adriano in 2005-6. They're inconsitency was the team's downfall that season.
-
He was not superb at Inter. as always, he was great as the "third" striker, but he was too inconsistent to carry the team. There is a reason this is the only club he's every consistently started at. Good player, not one to build your first team around.

As others have said, Oba just left a club that had no European football for one in the CL. I bet he'll be getting paid too. Probaly more first team chances as well. He actually played quite well last year when given the chance/fit. How is Oba more loyal than Beye? Everyone likes him, just because of his personality, but he wasn't exactly bleeding our colours.
-
I don't see any reason it can't happen. If you can get to the knockout stage anything can happen really. All the West African teams, Egypt, US, Mexico, and Korea could all get a run and do it, imo. If you look at Holland they've only played one top tier team.

What is there to decide? It is a twenty year old with Premiership experience on a free in a position in which the club are thin. Definitely worth the risk. Btw, was it him that nearly died in a match or one of Everton's other players.
-
They'll have given him big wages I'm sure. I don't think he's a good player, either. However, he would have been quite useful to have around. Able replacement for Routledge or Lovenkrands.
-
He's essentially Oba except worse in every aspect of the game. Except for speed. He probably matches him there. I wouldn't mind him, but definitely would not want to be paying much. If we are looking at wide forwards who played for Toulouse last season, than Kazim Kazim is a better option. I think Fener still own him though.

Nigeria has managed to avoid a FIFA ban through a last second decision to reverse a self-imposed decision banning Nigeria from FIFA tournaments. I love my country. I really do. Anyway, the insanity has eventually led to a very sound decision. drastic changes and sackings in the corrupt and incompetent NFF, plans to install a long term manager, and certain players being omitted.

Those of us on the other continents are wondering when Europe became the entire world.

I've noticed that the flashiest people are those that have grown up poor. It seems they go out of their way to say, "I am rich now. I am much better than you."

Roeder didn't have too much to spend compared to some other managers. People remember him spending 10 million on Oba (you could argue we overpaid, but his goals kept us up and we got the whole fee back anyway) and 5 million on Duff (bad signing, but he was a quite helpful player at times at thought and showed himself alright during the relegation season.) However, we also sold quite a few players for significant fees and spent nothing in the winter.
-
One would think his place in the team is useful bench player who can come in the team and fulfill several roles. I doubt he has been signed to start and I would be worried if that were the case. Also, it is rather good to see I am not the only Aiyegbeni hater on the forum.

The formations are all blurred together anyway. What is the difference between 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1 and 4-2-4 other than the mentality of the players. Most people will say a team like Chelsea play a 4-2-3-1, but I would argue that it is more of a 4-2-4.
-
Agreed. I mean, what the f*** is he going to do with £221,000 per week? What would anyone do with it? Well, Oba would spend it somehow I suppose. Presumably he'll support himself and his family, buy himself some nice things, and invest the rest in interest bearing accounts or his own personal business ventures. Like everyone with a sense of money management would. It really is not that much money. There are many people who have a much larger stream of income for a mcuh longer period of time than footballers. I don't begrudge him for following the money.
-
Exactly. If you combine him with Ryan Taylor and Alan Smith, Newcastle have real versatile and dynamic side. Looking forward to it. Not meant as a racist comment at all but Houghton seems to prefer players that have the same skin tone as him, Routledge, Simpson, Best and now Perch. Hall and van Aanholt. He does like his fairskinned black players, it seems. It's an indictment of how hard it is to watch Championship matches that I never realised van Aanholt was black until just now.
-
From what I can grasp of him, versatile sold, player who can play multiple positions. I'll take him. He'll help us.

not every foul but every DELIBERATE foul. Have you ever played football? Defenders deliberately foul all the time. It happens almost every minute of a football match. yes i have, most of it as a defender, decent one at that. most don't deliberatly foul all the time. we often get caught for pace and foul unintentionally because of it. I was also a defender. I know that if I hadn't yet been booked I would stick my leg out and take my yellow card if danger was developing, especially later in the match.

The red card you get for handballing on the line is punishment enough. Ask Harry Kewell if he would rather have let Ghana score in the first match. In most cases, the penalty will be scored and the team will be a man down. The last seconds of the match are really the only time when it is to your advantage. Also, it is not cheating. If you call this cheating, then every single foul is also cheating. It is an infringement that was correctly noted and dealt with by the referee. Suarez was duly punished. What else do people want?

Tbf, if the ball was actually as rubbish as everyone said, you'd think it would hurt Ronaldo more so than anyother player with the way he blisters his freekicks.
