  1. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Rafa mention about the previous recruitment process not taking into account the character of a player, and determining what their motives were for joining the club? We've signed too many players who don't have that hunger and placed them in a toxic environment where that laziness has been allowed to flourish.
  2. The same French squad that Ben Arfa can't make? Yet I'm sure we would all agree Benny is a far better player than Sissoko. Point being you can't say X player is good because he makes this International squad, you can't account for the loyalty/racism of managers. If you sat me down and told me I could either pick Dummett at LB or Sissoko at RM/CM/LM for our first match next season, I'd pick PD every time. Sissoko has some useful attributes but they don't add up into a good footballer, or one that even has a proper position.
  3. Wouldn't be surprised if they make the semis. They win the group and their likely match v Italy/Belgium should be a cracker in the second round. One of my boldish predicitions would be Portugal to go out in the groups. Half crocked Ronaldo and a lot of promising but inexperienced youngsters. If you even half think it, get a bet on. You'll get canny odds. Just checked, 17/2.

Welbeck is a big tube of Pritt Stick in that he makes teams and formations work, especially from that left sided role. He's almost the complete opposite of Rooney in that his general play is brilliant, but he doesn't get to take the 85th minute penalties that recover you from the rest of the game of shit, and get you your match rating of 7 for sucking off Martin Samuel.
  6. Paul Dummett is a better left back than Sissoko is in whatever position he thinks he plays. All 3 keepers, Mbemba, Lascelles, Dummett, Townsend, Mitrovic are all better in their positons. The fact it's not more is a damning assessment of our dreadful recruitment rather than any olive branch to Moussa Sissoko.
  7. You don't get the success he has without being very competent at what you do. I'd imagine the persona of being a bloke you could have a decent chat at the pub with is a strong part of that success.

The only people that point needs to be directed at are those who would play Vardy ahead of Kane as a lone striker.
  9. This x 100. Suits kick and rush football only, if someone is mentally unhinged enough to pay £20m for him then it will make my summer.
  10. Only remotely useful in kick and rush football. Hope he's shown up for the cowardly shite he is.
  11. I've got 14 of them for you if that's worth sending them for you?
  12. He should be Slovakia's starting lone striker, scored against Germany in a 3-1 win last week. I spend ages stressing about who to put on the list, so I'm hopeful there won't be too many who haven't got a chance of even getting on the pitch. You should swap stories with Toon Hoser. Ran a predictions competition for last season's NFL out of nothing but the kindness of his heart, received nothing but abuse for the entire thing.
  13. Who on earth is Michal Duris and how did he make the cut for this competition.

It would be fucking pointless playing Vardy on the wing, he looks less suited to the role even than Kane or Rooney. My preferred formation is a 4-3-3 and in that system Kane is the better option as a striker. That goes beyond recent goalscoring stats and whatever else you fancy digging up. Vardy's pace and direct style will be perfect as an option against tired defences or if we switch to a front 2. This is why I hate the argument of picking players on form for clubs, sometimes they just aren't effective international players. I'm not saying Vardy wholly falls into that category, but he definitely shouldn't be shoehorned into the team as he is being at the moment.

Vardys numbers are better at just about everything. There is a bias against the lad for some reason. Kane's actually been quite quiet isolated upfront recently for us. Bar the offside goal, i cant think of many chances we've created for him? What numbers? You can't just translate what you did your your club side in the Premier League onto the international stage. England cannot and will not play like Leicester, which naturally limits Vardy's most dangerous attribute. It's mindless to just sit there shouting at the TV about why Vardy isn't playing like he does for Leicester. Further to that, I simply think Kane is a much better all round player.

Vardy would come off the bench for me, I don't think you can justify starting him ahead of Kane and he's more of an impact sub against tired legs.

Normally I hate shoehorning players, but I don't think it would be the worst thing to do in the group stages anyway. In my side above I came close to leaving out Sterling and playing Kane wide left, with Rooney up top. Having both Lallana and Sterling (Both non goal scoring wide players) seems a bit of a wet lettuce approach.

A bit of an overreaction, we played reasonably well in the first half without really threatening, and then from the moment it was 11 v 10, the diamond (and game, really) was nullified. I thought the ITV pundits got it spot on actually, which is a rarity for them. How I'd pick the team: Must start - Hart, Smalling, Cahill, Alli, Kane. Hart Walker Cahill Smalling Rose Alli Dier Wilshere Lallana Kane Sterling

If it was that easy then of course he would have. You speak about a lack of gameplan, but the one you suggest is 'give the ball to Jame Vardy so he can try and run past their defence'. Not exactly going to get Jose Mourinho quaking in his boots that one.
  21. I genuinely think Mbemba had a class first year, despite the utter tripe around him. It's no surprise he was having to cover the rest of his back 4 at times.
