  1. It didn't help him that he looked shite every time he played on the wing in a squad full of number 10's. Needless to say having Pardew as manager was also no help.

When teams come to sit off us it makes absolute sense to play Shelvey alongside Hayden.
  3. Some people clearly haven't bothered to pay attention in the friendlies. This is exactly what it what going to be.
  4. Landed £450 from a fiver on the horses tonight. Thanks Davy.
  5. John Nicholson's article pretty much sums up where I am on this. If by some miracle we win something with Fat Sam then great, if he's shite then we can tell everyone we told them so.

  7. He's Kevin Nolan with better technical ability. Lacks so many attributes to ever be excelling at the highest level.
  8. He's a good technical player but has absolutely no idea how to influence a game beyond timing his runs into the box well. The absolute definition of a luxury player and one few teams can afford to carry.
  9. He'd insist on doing everything his way. Whereas Bruce comes across as totally spineless.
  10. I'd rather have Allardyce than Bruce, at least Sam would ruffle the FA up a little bit. Bruce is a pathetic fat yes man.
  11. Mbemba is more likely to be dropped than Lascelles for me.
  12. Be interesting to see where Liverpool play him, you'd think Klopp sees a role for him rather than just being versatile across the Midfield. £25m plus and I'd be laughing.
  13. We've only ever played him as a counter attacking #10 or a winger.
  14. Bordering on Pardew levels of delusion.
  15. Can't wait until someone pays megabucks for this fraud and realises how limited a footballer he really is.
  16. I suppose in a way this vindicates him chasing the money all over the world. Hope he gets playing again though.

    England

http://www.101greatgoals.com/news/harry-kanes-comments-brexit-compared-giorgio-chiellinis-laughable/ Harry Kane on Brexit Friday 24th June 2016 will go down as one of the most important days in Great Britain’s modern history after the people voted to leave the European Union. England striker Harry Kane was asked about it in his press conference on Friday and admitted that most of the 23 man England squad don’t know enough about it to discuss it. “It’s hard not to know that its gone on. I’ve not really thought too much about it yet. Obviously, i’m focusing on the Euros and what’s ahead. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see”. “I woke up today and saw the news. A few of the lads were talking about it but I don’t think the lads are too focused on it to be honest. I don’t think any of us know too much about it to comment on it”. Giorgio Chiellini on Brexit Meanwhile, Italy and Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini had some insightful words to share in his Friday press conference after the United Kingdom decided to ditch the EU. Chiellini urged Europe to stay together. “The main concern should be about an eventual domino effect caused by this decision,” said Chiellini. “I don’t think that a simple U.K. exit can change the equilibrium of the whole European economy, or the world economy, aside from the heartburn everybody’s feeling these days.” “This vote is the symbol of a general discussion that you can feel in Italy and all across Europe, but I think that discontent shouldn’t lead to a vote for disintegration.” Lends a lot of support to the argument above.
  19. I was all ready to come on and agree with most on here about it, but in some weird twisted way I think it might actually work. Someone to pick the players for the tactic rather than just shoehorning the big names.
  20. No they don't though, it's absolute bollocks and it's not against British players or even local players. If Colback's definition of working hard was the same as Jonas' there wouldn't be any problems. Chasing the ball around like a dog after a bone is not a skill, it's piss poor pressing. They definitely do. Colback is a shit example but someone like Shane Long or Jack Cork would get a similar bad rap. I get why as the PFM rhetoric is all about 'PASHUN', but you do need a balance.
  21. There's definite truth to that like, people love to downplay British players that work hard and view work rate like it's not an actual skill. Rafa will make decent use of of Colback in the Champ, one thing I don't doubt about Colback is that he has the basic ability to take on board and follow a manager's instructions.

    New club captain

Lascelles out of the current lot, although would only really be mad at Janmaat, Wijnaldum, Sissoko or Cisse getting it. Head says he's yet to join though.
  23. We also lack mental skills as well, agreed. What I strongly disagree with, however, is that our players need told what to do. They have been told what to do all their lives and it inhibits them. They need to be freed and allowed to lose their inhibitions. I'm not advocating Wenger as manager by the way, but as someone to oversee the whole of our game and to help change it. The most striking thing about this England team is the lack of team spirit, there is none basically. Without that, regardless of skills and ability, they will never go far. They play as strangers. When I said they need to be told what to do, I mean tactically. They are all clearly too stupid to understand what to do on the pitch themselves, so if they are going to be successful, that means they need to be told how to do it. I actually think Roy tried to let the team freelance a bit and look how that turned out. Total mess.
  24. We didn't fail at the Euro's because the players aren't technically good enough, we failed because we had no tactical plan of how to play. The skills we lack are mental ones and it needs strong management to develop a system that the players believe in. Wenger is not the answer, not tactically astute enough for an England international team. Our players need to be told what to do, he won't do it.
