The knackers with the back from the dead banner were sitting just along from me. 3 young lads with smug faces, almost Pardew-esque. There was also a BackPardew.com banner in the East Stand Were they definitely pro-Pardew? I took it to be just a state of play/Halloween play on words and opportunity to dress up etc.

Cant remember who it was but he absolutely bossed someone in a 50/50 shoulder challenge.

We look so much better with a 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 shape, now hopefully Cabella and Aarons can get time in the wide roles with Sissoko pushing on through the middle.
-
Excellent today, kept Sterling in his pocket.
-
Spot on, both are most comfortable on the left. I actually would say Aaron's has more potential on the right than Sammy.
-
3 points off the champions league? the fuck has that happened.
-
Dummett has been class today like.
-
He should play how Valbuena played for France at the WC. Kind of like an outside-in #10.
-
Sissoko is so fucking good when played as the box to box third CM.
-
Hmm, credit to him for that team?
-
I'm back to wanting us to win today, which is a weird feeling. I don't know if I've just accepted that nothing is going to sack this man?

They like Pardew because he gives them an easy ride and makes excuses on behalf of bad displays. 'Come on lads, 12th place is fine. If you get stuffed 4-0 i'll play excuse bingo again.'
-
No reason why we shouldn't have 3 central spots available, Sissoko and 2 of the others. You're like 40 seconds too late mate, in your fizzace. Mine was more succinct.

I am in the same boat, and I actually enjoyed that win yesterday and celebrated our goals for the first time this season. But I'm still massively conflicted and I will enjoy abusing him when we lose just as much. Why? because he will take us all for another ride which ends up going nowhere. Thirded. I think it's down to the fact it's a cup game which we hypothetically now have a 1 in 8 chance of winning. But mostly I think it's because it was youngsters and fringe players playing well, and there actually seemed to be a purpose about the way we played.
-
I don't think the team selection for this game specifically should be used as a stick to beat him with, but similarly let's not go claiming he's discovered some revolutionary method at motivating fringe players. He shuffled the deck for the cup game as most managers of his calibre do. By that I mean mediocre long ball specialists.
-
He seems to fit the mould of a perfect Pardew fullback, which unfortunately doesn't mesh well with good football or attacking play. He's good in the air and a good defender, would be a CB at a better side. He averages a shockingly low amount of dribbles per game for a fullback, which says it all.
-
We already know the agenda, pardew doesn't want to win cup games because there's no tv money, it tired out the squad, might end up in Europe, raise expectations and all that other garbage that's been inflicted upon us over recent times. Once again, the man has been bailed out by an excellent performance from the youngsters.
-
Chuffed for him, genuinely. The epitome of a model pro and seems like a top bloke. Let's not forget he's a decent player too. 'Like a new signing'
-
What for exactly? He tried to hoy the game like, let's not kid ourselves that this was some clever plan, fair play to the kids who weren't f***ing having any of it. This is spot on. If he actually gave a shit about the cup/winning a trophy then he would have played the first team. The fact that Aarons, Sammy and Obertan might be better than the Gouffran's of this world hasn't dawned on him yet, so the slimy chode gets to look clever in front of David Craig.

Can't bring myself to feel any kind of hope again just yet..

Didn't expect anyone to mention Inzaghi. The 'Inzaghi' type would pretty much be my least favourite type of player. The amount of times I've shouted 'Just fucking get onside' at the TV.

A proper midfield destroyer, constantly biting in and winning the ball - Basically a Mascherano type. Appreciators of space who just have a gift at finding room between the lines to create something - David Silva type. Full backs who are far too adventurous for their own good in terms of ending up beyond the strikers.
