Saylor does have a weird habit of turning into Cannavaro everytime we play Chelsea in fairness to him. Abeid must be injured but fucking annoying Dummett has been shafted to LB.
-
They've signed Eider Gudjohnsen as well? Are they switching focus on Masters Football or something?
-
Does Pardew get to write his own questions beforehand or something? Honestly that reporter could not have his tongue any further inside Alan's arsehole.
-
Hard for him to get the ball when the gameplan is to let Burnley have it, and on those rare occasions when we do have the ball, just smack it vaguely towards Perez.
-
His game is based around one thing, which is to get a yard and put a cross in. This isn't necessarily a bad option for a winger, especially one as weird and ungainly as Sammy. Aarons has bags more potential though.

He's now lecturing people. Unbelievable.

Why is Ashley sitting next to Jordan Poulton's dad?
-
It's nonsensical to even suggest he should be punished/banned for this. Posting an amusing cartoon, which was literally designed to show he isn't racist? Christ. Whoever is 'offended' by this wants a good shaking.

I don't disagree with you they they are both more talented footballers than Dummett, but there is a 'grass is always greener' tendency to remember absent players as being much better than they actually are.
-
100 % spot on. All of who, are better with the ball at the feet/more creative than their peers/replacements. That's the (valid) criticism, not because they are foreign. Dummett needs an extended run at CB. That's his future. If he can play as a full back once in blue moon too then so be it. The way people went on about Marveaux was like we had Messi sitting on the bench. He would get a nice assist once or twice a season and then meander about the pitch the rest of the time not giving a shit. Add to that he was beyond shite everytime he played on the wing. Look, I hate Pardew with all my blood, but Marv was a marginal, luxury player who was simply not cut out to play 90 mins at this level. It's a similar thing now with Santon, when Haidara/Dummett put in below average performances at LB (Southampton game in particular), we see posts proclaiming Santon as some sort of saviour, which he is not.
-
The way we've been set up for this winning run I'd argue it has been based around Sissoko tbh, making sure he can be at his most effective on the counter (Basically removing his defensive responsibilities, while still having him predominantly playing as a hybrid CM/CAM).
-
On here without a doubt leeway goes to foreign players who are out of the team, Marveaux, MYM and Santon are the recent beneficiaries who come to mind.
-
Yeah, he was pretty effective as an RM in our shit formation last season, but it's not where he's best or where I want to see him. His style was to overrun the ball, but then win it again as he's built to crush pretty much every LB in a 50/50, before drilling a low cross/cutback. Not ineffective, but not exactly good to watch.
-
The thread being empty basically shows him for what he is, does the basics well without ever really shining out.
-
This is a pointless debate really, they are different players, who's role can basically be explained using simple FM logic. Sissoko is the prototype of the box to box midfielder, at his best when starting off with the ball in deep positions but without too much in the way of defensive responsibility. Anita is the ball retention deep lying playmaker type who will only ever really fit an Ajax style of team. If the question is who I prefer then I'd much rather have a Sissoko in my team, but Anita is totally wasted here.

Literally the worst thing I've seen written about MYM tbh I'll explain my reasonning then. MYM as a footballer and defender has a great deal of talent, that much is clear. Put him in a one on one situation where someone runs at him, he has the pace and judgement to come away with the ball and pass/play his way out. Where I think he struggled / struggles is dealing with situations inside the penalty area, letting his man go a yard or two, or making poor decisions whether to come across / hold his position. Personally I think he's a pretty unique defender and would be ideally suited to a Barcelona/Bayern type of posession football where the defending involves more of the former than the latter.
-
It's just the cockney wideboy persona, some people naturally like all who fit it. I guess it might be a little bit similar if we spoke to a Birmingham fan about Lee Clark?

A defender that's good at defending is something that should be praised, not written off as limited. He's an excellent 'penalty box' defender at this stage and appears to be very good at tackling, heading and clearing away balls into our box. Where he isn't as good is dealing with situations around 25/30 yards from goal, where clever strikers back in, come deep and move wide. This will only get better with experience so to say he's peaked is pretty ridiculous, especially for a position like Centre Back, where a great deal of the skills learned are mental. He has the instincts of a defender though, personally I never saw that from Yanga-Mbiwa. By that I mean the ability to see danger and take action to prevent it.

Increasingly the only gameplan we employ, just look at the proportion of goals scored in the second half this season. In fairness we are committing a few players forward against tired legs in the latter stages but the first 60 minutes or so are so often a total and utter waste of time. True actually, the gameplan has changed, it used to be to try and get ahead early on then batten down the hatches and hope Norwich/Stoke/Wolves can't break us down. Think he's realised that people go home happier with a late goal then an early one despite the fact they've been utterly bored for the same amount of time. It's definitely a better gameplan to do that as the majority of those sides will then be playing for a point for the whole game, whereas if we score early, then they attack us. Not saying it's the right approach in the slightest, but it allows him to come out with spew like 'we controlled the game' whilst never threatening the opposition. I will say to his credit, what we have played recently is a hybrid 4-3-3 in posession, 4-4-1-1 when not, which helps us on the ball. I thought it might just be Abeid dropping between the CB's as a part of his natural game but Raylor and then Colback did it too.

QPR have been turboAids like.

What is the point in 1 month loan deals, should be banned. All loans should be for a whole season. What's Campbell gonna get, 2 sub appearances then dropped from the bench once some 30 year old journeyman recoveres from his injury. Bollocks that is.

Well yeah but te the treatment is rest. You don't go back out and put it under strain again. Do it more damage and potentially be out longer If it's broke, it's broke though, how worse can it get? I know mates that have had 'toe pain' and kept playing for months before going to a doctor and being told that they actually broke a toe. Well it won't heal, the inflammation will get worse, there's a chance you'll do more permanent damage. When you break a bone you don't just go, "ah well it's broken may as well just crack on" not sure what point you're trying to argue. It's not a case of will it get worse, it's a broken bone you are supposed to let it heal The point i'm trying to argue is that would playing with a broken little toe actually make it worse? If it was his legs or spine then yes, clearly there's a problem but if it's going to take 4 weeks to heal from now, or 4 weeks to heal if he plays tomorrow I don't see the issue?

I'm by no means a medical expert, but I thought that there is pretty much no medical treatment for a broken toe and it will just heal naturally? And the smaller the toe, the quicker it heals? The last bit could be rubbish, like.
