  1. I’ll be honest, I was a young lad and it was when that DC-10 crashed at O’hare airport. We were the first DC-10 flight out afterwards and the CEO made a thing of being on the flight and there was an engineer jumping up and down inside one of the engines as we boarded ?. I’ve still got the program somewhere.
  2. Apologise as off topic but I used to play football for Bournmoor and in the days before all day opening the cricket club would put a bus on down to Headingley. Depart at 7am, cans on the bus, decant at Headingley, more cans up to lunch. At the lunch interval rush to the pub in the terraced houses and have as many pints as you could before more cans on the Western Terrace throwing ripped up copies of The Yorkshire Post all over the place. Coach would stop at Wetherby on the way back until closing time and then back up the road. On the flip side I went to a Cubs v Browns baseball game on a Wednesday afternoon and by Christ it was awful. One home run for the Browns and they didn’t set off any fireworks. Oldtype, you need to learn the finer sides of cricket.
  3. Hang on, people actually questioning a 7 hour bender on the Western Terrace over a game of rounders with hot dogs and weak beer and some bloke playing an organ after the 7th innings as the entertainment?

By the what is going on with offside explanations? If you’re ahead of the 2nd last opposition player you’re offside unless the ball was played backwards to you by one of your own players who received the ball in an onside position. Doesn’t matter if you were in an offside position yourself when your teammate received the ball unless you were active (now there’s a talking point). And a defender can’t just step off the pitch in an attempt to make you offside. Think I’ve been reading some typos.

Liked their manager saying he wants Arsenal or Spurs in the quarters so they can play a big team over 2 legs. Well said ?
  6. Screenshots on RTG who are gleefully spreading the article. It compares the press treatment of Liverpool fans to our recent coverage. Unbelievably crass and just wrong.
  7. Jones got lucky today, we got hammered out there. Midfield was non existent and ASM wasn’t allowed in the game at all. We did nothing to create any space. I might be doing Jones a disservice but looked to me that he played Krafth because he has a long throw and I’ve no idea why Fraser started, baffling.
  8. Obviously don’t understand the PL O&D test as it is. Need to get the RSPB involved mind. I’d have far more respect if they had a banner saying they don’t like how much money we could have available and they wish it was them.
  9. Rafa, wants to come back doesn’t he.
  10. Anyone asked why Bruce was 12th choice and why we’d been knocked back by 11 others? Why did Bruce abandon Sheff W and accept a job where the sole requirement was to finish 17th when others wouldn’t. How come he gets rewarded with an eternal 3 year rolling contract for towing the line and killing fans hopes? His mates advised him to not take the job as they knew the constraints, Bruce simply took the money fully aware that at some point he’d get grief and receive a huge pay off.
  11. He must be a shoe in for the next PL vacancy for a mid table side.
  12. We’re a team that is used to having around 35% possession even against poor opposition, we’re not drilled in keeping possession or how to manage when we lose possession (we normally boot it away in the hope that it gets to ASM and set up again ready for the next wave). When we do counter attack at the minute if we lose possession with a stray pass our ability to reshape is extremely poor. Whoever comes in is going to have a long slog if they try and change the current philosophy from the get go. There has to be a pragmatic approach, a step at a time and that has to start with sorting the defence out and how we protect that defence.
  13. I remember that Man U v Roma game. Man U weren’t great, Roma were an absolute shambles. The thought of a bloke who dressed as Zorro for a press conference doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence that he can get organise our group of players into a difficult side to score against. It’ll be very interesting to see how he approaches things; gotta say I’m nervous.
  14. We’re letting in far too many easy goals. If we do go for an attack minded manager they’re going to have to reign that in for the rest of this season. Get organised at the back and play on the counter attack, keep Wilson and ASM fit.
  15. We need to get someone in who can organise what we have and to stop shipping goals. This season is all about staying up, get a centre half, central midfielder and goal scorer in January and hopefully survive. If we keep shipping goals nothing will really change, we’re just not going to start winning games 3-2, 4-3. We need a Rafa type manager, no point in getting in an adventurous manager and getting spanked early on. We’ll be adrift in no time.
  16. Why isn’t this being criticised and why was news released shortly after the takeover was confirmed after months of doubt? Don’t see folk calling for this to be stopped. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.gazettelive.co.uk/news/teesside-news/saudi-owner-wilton-cracker-set-21888419.amp
  17. My £14 away top from DH Gate turned up today. I haven’t seen an original close up but apart from the plastic feel of the logo and numbers it seems pretty good. For all I know the proper tops also have the same plastic feel.

Grumpy is doing his damnest to pour cold water on all of this. They’ve conveniently ignored or forgotten that KSA coughed up $1B to settle with beIN to get this done. They’re not going think job done, let’s be happy being an also run and further down the line let’s hope we really put some noses out of joint.
