  1. Watford were awful, if Wilson played we’d have won at a canter. Murphy wants fining for that finish especially against a keeper like Foster, travelling at that speed you either show quick feet and pass it passed him or you feign and round the keeper. That said, I fully expected us to lose.
  2. Detest Rudiger, dirty git, I’d have booked him there, just no need.

    St James' Park

We’re getting some work done in our house at the moment and one of the trades has done work at SJP in the past and has been approached to do work at the training ground. He’s been told that Benton has 10M earmarked for improvements. Nowts been signed and I don’t imagine 10M would go that far in the big scheme. Apparently there are tenders out for other work. I’d be tempted to call bullshit but he seems absolutely genuine; he’s done a cracking job for us as well.
  4. Matty always looks like he’s running through wet cement. His tormented face looks like he should be flying then you look at the legs and it’s slow motion. He’s incredibly slow, watching him run anything over 10 yards and you can run a bath waiting.

    Joelinton

He did ok at times on Friday but that says more about everyone around him than anything else. He’ll never be a striker, his initial movement is too slow, he doesn’t think like a striker and he’s generally very slow in the head. He just doesn’t have it in him. Everything is in slow motion. He’s a bog standard Championship level player who doesn’t really have a position that suits him. If he wasn’t being paid £1000’s every week on a long contract I’d feel sorry for him.
  6. He became a willing seller before the pandemic struck and PIF were reported as saying the affects of the Pandemic were a reason for 2nd thoughts, and then they bought some cruise liner company which didn’t fit that reasoning. Fans attending makes no odds at this stage. PIF are/ were the only show in town and Ashley has all eggs in this basket. At some point we may need to look more closely at Staveley and PIF, Staveley could be accused of stringing us along and PIF not playing ball, but they could also say they pulled out a year ago or so.
  7. Having no fans in the stadium doesn’t get Ashley unless there’s a serious buyer and he’s pissing about. He wants out, you could argue that by giving free tickets out to fill the ground makes us look an attractive buy. He’s more or less said the club need to survive without him. The last thing I’d want is for some chancer, without a pot to piss in, get to buy us when we’re loitering in The Championship. We’re basically fucked at this moment in time, pointing the finger at fans isn’t the answer.
  8. The fans, non attending and attending want Ashley out, Ashley wants out. Whether you attend or not doesn’t change this, when Ashley was pissing about about wanting out there’s perhaps an argument. Ashley has said there’s never been another serious bid and that may well be true. The attending fans can play a big part in making Bruce’s time here even more uncomfortable. I’ve wanted to see us relegated in the past in the hope it’d force Ashley to sell, we now need need to survive to attract potential buyers. We really are in the worst of every world. Ashley isn’t going to change how he runs the club, fans or no fans. If he declares it’s no longer for sale and it becomes apparent that he’s pissing about with serious buyers then that’s a different matter. In the meantime we need Bruce out and we need to stay up. Somewhere along the line we really do need to know what stopped the takeover. If the only outcome is that Ashley gets some compensation, I hope he takes whoever it is to the cleaners.
  9. True legend, bit before my time but my dad said (and footage bears out) that he had unbelievable pace, poise, control and ability to take a chance. Mostly on pitches that were little better than mud heaps.
  10. I haven’t heard what the noise was like on Sky, certainly the second half was far far quieter. I asked my son about the noise on Sky when I got home and he said it wasn’t really that loud. Perhaps Sky turned off the mics at The Gallowgate or turned them down or didn’t do anything at all. It was pretty non stop from never they scored to when we scored. I’ve not heard it like that since Pardew was here.
  11. There were loads of pissed up Leeds fans in town mind, I was in The Waiting Rooms, full of them, too many young lads acting the man in the cover of plenty older blokes and a few older pissed up blokes trying to stoke bother by singing Newccy Brown is vile, Shearer is a paedophile. Great stuff, a group then must have left The Union Rooms and decided to walk the wrong way up Westgate Rd, as traffic waiting at the lights at The Mile Castle turned green and traffic had stop, swerve to avoid them.
  12. A quarter is a large number of fans to be standing up; the other chants don’t require anyone to stand up. You best ask Sky about their microphones, you want to believe what you heard on the tv then fine, I was there, not in The Gallowgate and it was loud and prolonged. Don’t expect it to be anywhere near as hostile at 4pm on a Sunday when Spuds are in town.
  13. That’s wrong, I was in the Milburn Paddock and it was very loud as I’ve already said. It was large portions of the ground as well, the BBC article is pretty accurate
  14. I’ve seen loads of comments saying it didn’t come across on TV. It was a warm, dark, Friday night and loads of fans had been out for a good few hours, town was heaving. It was very unpleasant for Bruce, not once did he lift his head to look at the Gallowgate, Stand up if you hate Steve Bruce saw perhaps a quarter of the ground stand up. The fans last night did just fine. Gotta say if someone hadn’t told they’d been a planned protest I wouldn’t have known and as it was I couldn’t tell. Hope we get a few more Friday night games tbh if it’s going to be like that.
  15. There was plenty of Get out of our club as well. That bbc piece is right the first half was pretty much a barrage of Bruce/ Ashley and it was loud and not just the Gallowgate. I got home and my family did say it didn’t come across that way. No idea what Sky must’ve been playing at. It kept me entertained while we were chasing shadows for 40 minutes.
  16. That’s a shame, it was most of the 1st half and Bruce could hear it, impossible not to, I sit fairly close to the dugout.
  17. Didn’t see any sign of protest but the Bruce Out, Ashley Out, Sad Mackem Bastard (Bruce), Stand up if you hate Steve Bruce were loud and constant during the first half. And properly loud.

    St James' Park

    It is disgraceful mind.
  19. I think they’ll go on public sale (doubt ST holders will snap extra up before they go on general sale) but I’d get in early when they do go on sale to get 4 together in a decent spot.
  20. Would love to see Bruce resign and go on a rant. He knows the fans didn’t want him and he’s now being shafted by the club, I fear for his health. It was only a matter of time before it all unravelled, the only downside is that we’re going down and there’s no prospect of Ashley selling the club. We’re in a complete no win position, we actually need to avoid relegation and keep the corpse that is the club on life support. Ashley deserves the club to be relegated but I’d fear for us this time around.
