The Leazes End terrace was a bit of a Tardis, it held 15k but didn’t look particularly big. You’d walk up the stairs in The Gallowgate, have a piss halfway up, then come out at the top of the terracing, see the whole ground and make your way to your spot. The Leazes End was great but could have been so much more much earlier with just a bit of attention. Walking into The Fulwell End was much more impressive and The Roker End before it got condemned and chopped up was an impressive caught, same with both ends at Sheff Wed. I so miss being able to stand on the terraces, finding myself 20 yards from where I was stood 30 seconds before we scored without realising it and shouting hey man, woh man as you swayed with the crowd. The caging and policing of the terraces was the danger. We can never go fully back and sanitised terracing may come in but I’d love one more “proper” terraced match with scarves, bovril, peanuts and barley sweets. I’m romanticising here ‘cos it could also be absolutely awful but when it was good it was something really special.

Neville and Carra know the score, I’m still genuinely angry that Godfrey got away with that when you have VAR. I used to get kicked all over the pitch at times, you can see it coming a lot of the time and get ready for the hit and try to adjust to lessen the hit. Godfrey could have had his eye out and didn’t give a shit.

Just noticed that after he’s spotted his head and knows where to place his foot he then deliberately looks away as he puts his foot down. Hope he get done afterwards and Dean gets put in The Championship. He could have had his eye out and Dean can’t see what really happened.
-
He takes a sly look to see where his head is, he then places his foot there and immediately puts his hands up in the defence to indicate it was an accident. If he didn’t know he was standing on his head he wouldn’t have puts his hands up like he did. Absolute cowardly thing to do, Dean hasn’t got a clue.

Red all day, he looks beforehand

He clearly knows that Wilson is made of glass and that we don’t have another PL level goalscorer in the squad. Has to be a priority, not forgetting a leaky defence and midfield bereft of real presence…..

Love it, right who’s first in the ice bin?

Happened at every game I believe. There’s a photo of the poor lad in a Brum top.

Great result. Players were very nervous early on and whilst the crowd were fantastic there was also audible grumbles and impatience, especially in the 1st half. They’ll make mistakes and they won’t just gamble, a pass backward isn’t always a poor decision. Burnley are a awkward side to play against; well done lads. I’m not Shelvey’s greatest fan but he did well today as did Joe. Almirón, Willock and ASM worry me more. Willock needs a goal and generally needs to make forward runs to worry defenders, ASM still looks a looks less engaged than he did under Bruce and Almirón was completely ineffective.

They could play all weekend and not score. Amazing

Gateshead could be 5-2 up here if they could just finish

I should add that I’d have done exactly that the same thing as Smith-Rowe did. I just think that the right thing to have done is give the goal back. I don’t think De Gea was play acting and I also think Atkinson made the wrong decision. My opinion only, I do see the argument of making the most of any advantage.
-
Ref should have blown his whistle. Nobody would have protested and he could see De Gea was on the deck. He ended up putting himself in a position where the goal had to be given. Complete shithousery by Arsenal not giving the goal back. They’ve got form for this, just ask Sheff U. Fortunately Wenger put that right.

He’s done ok over the course of time here but he’s making too many poor decisions. Unbelievable stuff yesterday, Schar was just as bad late on and I’m sure he’d have given away a penalty and been sent off if he’d been able to catch up with that lad. Imagine training was fun today when they pick the bones out of it all.
-
Gotta say, what a shift he put in today. ?????

Missing the match tonight through work. I’d fine the thick twat a month’s wages and hoy him on the transfer list.
-
Took it well, shocking defending as last man
-
Now that was a penalty, you can’t just push from behind like that.

2 good hits from Shelvey, never a pen

6am train left at 7am and been told they’ll get there for HT.

He needs good players around him, his game is all about moving the ball on and that’s all dependant on the movement around him. He runs like he’s got cement in his boots and he’s never going go passed opposition players. He hasn’t improved his game at all and he’s a poor Jack Colback at the moment; it doesn’t get much worse.
-
Aye, abomination of a display, shocker. Come January, assuming we get someone in I’d seriously consider sending him out on loan. Something needs to happen with him otherwise he’s heading down the leagues for good.

We’re down. It’ll take something amazing to stay up.
