Arsenal’s squad depth is pretty ridiculous. Surely they win the league this season.
-
Gordon doesn’t score the 1st and isn’t in the right place to score the 2nd. Gordon has poor end product, Barnes is the best finisher we have (albeit he went the wrong side in the 1st minute).

If you do stay in Edinburgh avoid Princes Street as much as possible, George Street is much nicer and if you’re drinking there’s Rose St and the Grass Market area in the old town. There’s a pub called the Tile Bar on George St that’s a canny pub and in a nice spot.

Scotland are hanging on here. Can’t see the Danes not scoring.

Edinburgh for me, great city. Why not do the Hogwarts Express in the Highlands, it’s a round trip, all the scenery you’d need and then do a couple of the islands?
-
Just me or did he look incredibly slow at the weekend? There were at least 2 attempted recovery runs where he looked like he was running through treacle. So much effort in his face with so little leg speed.
-
He was absolutely fantastic down at Arsenal in the League Cup SF last year. He’s had some really bad luck with injuries, he’s only 25 and today he played like he was 35. If that’s as fast as he will be able to run now, he’s not making it in the Premier League. Today was a painful watch.

I said in a much earlier post that I thought that’s why he’d been kept on and, if he’s confirmed that, it’s a really poor decision. No defending a decision that the opposition manager will no doubt be trying to take advantage of in every attacking situation when they’re in transition. It comes across as stubborn and naive.

We’re watching different levels of effort then. You can have different tactics for different teams and where you’re playing but we’re getting outworked away from home, especially in midfield. Especially against the likes of Brentford, Villa, Bournemouth and Brighton most seasons and you’ll be able to add other “lower” teams this season. I’m not having it that we’re putting the effort in or simply following Howe’s instructions. It will be really interesting when we play Sunderland; put the West Ham/ Brentford effort in and we lose. Good teams, with good players, perform at maximum level. all of the time. We’ve got good players who aren’t performing away from home. Players can change the game and performance levels on the pitch; we aren’t doing that just now. It’s really concerning, we’re a soft touch away from home.
-
He’s got plenty of good will left however, some of the players aren’t putting the effort in for away league games and he has to make the seemingly obvious substitutions. He needs to get a bit ruthless and nasty. As much as anything the midfield isn't functioning away from home.
-
He’s lost the ability to run, he’d struggle to beat Bruno.
-
Awful performance, awful management. Eddie can only have kept Burn on for his height and that’s not a good enough reason when you can see in front of you that Burn was exposed.
-
Really pleased Gordon wasn’t fit for this. Gordon has to start producing or I’d be tempted to cash in. He’s keeping out a goal scorer.
-
They are out working other teams, they get into position really well and they are pretty good at the dark arts.
-
There’s clearly something not right. Rest him and withdraw him from any England call up.
-
Or just swig some bleach.
-
Their players like hoying themselves to the ground mind.
-
His tracking back to help Burn against the Benfica wasn’t great tbh. He had me out of my seat several times in the 1st half shouting at him.
-
Mo Salah levels of half arsed tracking back; again. AWB and Bowen must love playing against him and Burn. He couldn’t have complained if he’d been hauled off after that overturned penalty, unacceptable levels of effort and awareness. His lack of effort was always likely to cost us. When they did us up here it was the same problem.
-
That was pretty embarrassing. Go a goal up against a side on the ropes and then, nothing absolutely nothing. We get fortunate with some decisions but don’t react to the let off’s. We were poor all over the pitch, special mention to Gordon for his tracking back and covering runs and the general sloppy play throughout the team. That was an absolutely honking performance.

You’d struggle to find a harder route to win a final tbf. Bar the Champions League it was the hardest route of any cup across Europe imo.
