  1. There’s some right shite being spouted in here. We’re doing a job on them at the moment but the haters gotta hate. Save it for when it’s deserved. The time will come.
  2. We could easily be 2 up, they’ve not got going so it is a worry.
  3. Joelinton runs like he’s in quick sand. Shola would give him a good race.
  4. Can’t lead with your arm like that, next time it’s a yellow and he might as well come off.
  5. Problem is, it isn't exactly a defensive line up either. Not convinced that midfield offers enough protection to the back four. That’ll be Hayden’s role. Was it 2 seasons ago it was S Longstaff v Rice down there & we made Rice look like Mattaus. ASM ruined them last season, I can’t see them playing such a high line this time.
  6. Fraser can’t be fit and you have to imagine we’ll be booting it up for Carroll to knock on to Wilson. Miggy will come on for Carroll at around 60, play off Wilson and Fraser will come on as well. I’ll not criticise the line up, first game, away from home never going to be too attacking a line up.
  7. Picked Mane over Salah and Trent over Robertson which also meant no Van Dyke. Not the greatest decision so far.
  8. Wish BT would sack off “By the Way” Keown, doing my nut in.
  9. Cheers Scott, be sure to bring Mitro on for the last 20 mins so he can get booked ?
  10. Fantastic at his best, ridiculous assault on him by Kane on his debut.
  11. He can’t say anything but that, hope it all goes quiet again with them sorting it out behind the scenes.
  12. Great that; RTG will no doubt be all over that in the class stakes.
  13. I do hope Mike has something to back his claim up. At the moment it’s all a bit Vicky Pollard.
  14. The piracy issues are still there, regardless of whether PIF are recognised as a separate entity (which I would think they could establish even if its bollocks) meaning beIN will still have the PL ear. If we see some movement there then who knows but for me I see this as Ashley going after the PL, hope he wins, but I see it as compensation not as a means for the takeover to complete. The PL do not want the Saudis in, beIN don’t want them in and the Top 6 don’t want them in. I can see them shuffling money to the PL to pay Ashley off.
  15. The PL won’t want to lose any face over this now, the only way this gets done is if the PL are forced to allow it. I’m not sure why the club needed to put any statement out.

    Sunderland

    That’s a clear wind up
  17. I’ve never thought he lacked pace mind. He’s slow alright, pace off the mark is terrible, it’s a huge problem.
  18. Joelinton can’t play centre forward and his chronic lack of pace severely restricts him in any other position where we already have better options. I’ll be amazed if he sees much game time unless he starts miraculously banging them in. We get another striker in and we’ll be looking to offload him.
  19. The takeover is still in the background ‘cos is we’ve signed 2 frees, a much needed left back and a cheap centre forward who actually plays there and may get 10 goals over the season? Nah, this is Ashley trying to avoid relegation and hoping some new buyer comes in. If he did get the £18M deposit he’s got 4 players in for minimal expenditure. If Fraser and Wilson combine as they can and ASM and Almiron are played properly we might just be ok. Joelinton should spend most of the season on the bench which might just do him some good, he may get some game time as a No10 behind Wilson or on the wing when ASM is injured. We should never see him up top again (prays for a loan striker to come in as well).
  20. Hope at least 80% fit ‘cos he’ll be needed at the weekend. Carroll must be nailed on to start (unless he gets injured this week which is easily imaginable).
  21. The scouting side is a shambles; they’ve furloughed and more. Not everyone is likely to come back.
  22. Deal is dead for me. Do want to know if Caulkin or any journo knew of the bid before the WSJ and how it was that they broke the news. Was it given deliberately or by accident and they printed it without realising the shit storm it would create? Once it was out in the public domain it was open season for all and sundry to say why it shouldn’t happen. We’ve been done over, forget the rights and wrongs of SA, the PL made it impossible for this to get done and have been allowed to get away without explaining why. Oh yes, PIF walked away, that’s not a satisfactory explanation of what happened. No wonder we feel we’ve had our pants pulled down.
  23. Losing 4-1 according to RTG, best place to get score updates on our games I find.
  24. Would like to know how leaked it to the WSJ, as it turns out it was doomed from that point. Nowt but negative coverage from there.
