  1. Never heard the West Stand called the Clock Stand before, what colours were the home side wearing?

  3. It’s done man, crazy to think that anyone would piss away that deposit. PL approval was supposedly yesterday and only at that point would the buyers arrange to release the rest of the money. If this doesn’t happen it’s not down to Ashley and all the noises from the buying side have been positive.
  4. I have no idea who and who isn’t on the wind up on here ? I hope your right however. I have no idea who and who isn’t on the wind up on here ? I hope your right however. Put it this way, if my info was given as a wind up then someone pretty high up in the club is taking the piss out of a family member of their own or that family member is taking the rise out of someone in my family who knows that persons link to the club. Hope that makes sense. Your Charnleys dad? No, but Charnley has allegedly been making phone calls following today’s PL meeting confirming it’s done.

  6. FWIW I’ve been told it’s all done and dusted, balance of money being paid next week. Not come from my usual source but I’ve done a bit of digging about names and roles and it all matches.
  7. Pardew blaming the fans for being too passionate resulting in the players trying too hard which allowed the opposition to score. Stop being fans please.
  8. Nickson has gone from being well regarded to be being considered a yes man looking after number one either completely out of his depth or unwilling to challenge the direction those above are taking recruitment. Can’t see him keeping his job beyond the season end.
  9. Bit late on the scene. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8261995/Newcastle-chief-scout-Steve-Nickson-furlough-scheme-ahead-300m-takeover.html
  10. He’s donated his bonus to Den Haag non playing staff and the Dutch Health Service. Fair play to the twat.
  11. If this doesn’t go through we’ll be left with Ashley and a poorer more pissed off Ashley than we have now. Paddling pools and wheelie bins will be as good as it gets. We’ll be stuck with him for years to come. The first step towards a better future for the club has to be getting Ashley out, in whatever form that takes. I’m not going to feel guilty about supporting my club or celebrating any trophies we may win. I actually hope the Saudis come in, invest in the whole NE and we win everything going. The media are stirring up a bit of a frenzy and fans of other clubs are already jumping on the fan bashing bandwagon. Who knows where we’ll be in 10 years time but as long as it starts with Ashley out I’m in.
  12. Been told this is all done and dusted, apparently Steve Nickson is back at work tomorrow. Nobody knows what the plans are however, parts of the club need to get back to business in preparation.

    St James' Park

Castle Leazes should be perfect. If money isn’t a problem then we could build a new ground, create a green space in front of Leazes Terrace, relocate the lake and band stand and let’s face it, vastly improve what is presently there. I can’t see why we’d need to lose green space and we’d be bringing a large green space closer to the city centre.

If only there was somewhere nearby to build a new stadium and leave an empty plot perfect for a new open space for Leazes Terrace to overlook. It really shouldn’t be a question. http://stadiumdb.com/pictures/stadiums/eng/st_james_park/st_james_park19.jpg

Digging down becomes an option if we could move the SJH stand backwards and/ or rotate the pitch. Create a bigger foot print at ground level and off you go. Be mighty expensive to do.
  16. My very simplistic view is that we as fans have had no control while we have watched Ashley do as he wish with the club we love. He’s openly antagonised fans with his decisions and we’ve watched the decay of the stadium and steadfast refusal to invest in the infrastructure. I firmly believe that as a group of fans we would not have forced Ashley out and this has driven a rift between fans who can hopefully now support their club as one. Should this takeover happen then the disease that is slowing killing the club will have been cut out. The cure may not to be to everyone’s taste but our cure will not adversely affect other’s human rights. Perhaps I’m being simplistic and ignorant to a bigger plan but I can’t see buying NUFC will make the Saudi regime any harsher and may actually help. I’m not going to feel any guilt over celebrating the takeover, the single, biggest threat to my club will have gone, we’ll still sell arms to the Saudi’s as a country and court their money in other areas. The world will still turn and my little bit of it will hopefully be somewhat brighter - indeed the whole area may feel the benefit.
  17. For some reason Everton fans aren’t taking this very well, from their comments they really don’t like us at all. They seem to have empathy with the Mackems against loud mouthed entitled neighbours. Very strange from a club of their size.
  18. Can you imagine if this all goes through, the current players/ manager lose motivation as they suspect they’ll be on the way out and we get relegated. Scenes. And, what of St James Park, if this really takes off there’s got to be a real question mark about the ground. The Town Moor is a complete no no, would it be possible to move further up Barrack Rd and into Leazes Park and demolish and create new open space on the current site for the council to redevelop and make money? Would make sense for the Rueben’s to be already thinking of options and I’d imagine that the Saudi’s will also be looking at development areas. As a long term project this should be huge for the whole city and the council will have a massive part to play. Would break my heart if this all went through and we ended up playing home games in some retail park outside of the city centre.
  19. Rafa knows the place, gets the place, has a connection with the fans and asked to make it happen for him to come here. He knows what improvements are needed with the infrastructure and he already had a plan. There can be nobody better equipped to take us to the next level. If this takeover does happen it'll take some time to get us up to speed and for top players (and managers for that matter) to actually want to be here. Is Rafa actually confirmed as being back in China, someone who should know better told me he was in Liverpool.

Thank you RTG, made me chuckle: 25 minutes ago New Add bookmark #1 See there getting excited over nowt again with latest Stavely takeover rumour. Chronicle who can't spell haven't suddenly become mult million pound organisation takeover experts analysing financial documents. ?
  21. Just tried to freeze frame Platt’s disallowed goal - looks to me like he was onside.
  22. Really should have won this.
  23. Talking of Beardsley - take your pick - the above goal v Pompey is Included
  24. Eh? They were 2 points ahead of us going into the last game, had we beaten them we’d have had 3 more points and they’d have had 3 less. That’s a 6 point swing. Even if we’d drawn we’d have been going into the last game a point ahead. We ended up drawing with Spurs due to ‘boro rolling over and getting their tummy tickled.
