  1. The Sland result today may have done for us anyway however, we were far too cautious today. They'd list 11 in the bounce and we let them settle into the game, they looked happy with a draw and we left ourselves too little time to change the pattern of the game. We deserve to go down.
  2. We're in danger of being overly cautious here. They're there for the taking and their fans are itching to have a go at the team.
  3. Norwich should be disappointed if they don't win this. Man U are a disgrace given that 4th is possible.
  4. Muller tried the eyes like Cabaye, he also looked to the keepers left but even more obviously.
  5. Spurs will have no midfield by the time they play us
  6. Supposedly back in talks to buy BHS. Says he'll save all the stores and all the jobs. No doubt he'll fill them with tat, put the staff on zero hours contracts and insist on a deal regarding the pension deficit. We may get some new advertising boards out of it.
  7. Drinkwater may get an additional game for that
  8. Good decision by ref, no foul
  9. Cabaye wanted to score, he hit that shot in the first half hard enough and he's ready to celebrate when he takes that penalty, he has to stop himself when he realises that Darlow saves it. I think Cabaye tries to give Darlow the eyes as he definitely looks to Darlow's right before he takes it.
  10. Work rate, no more no less. Rafa sees it as simple as that.
  11. He must have been causing problems to be released at this stage of the season and you'd hope it is a sign that Rafa is staying regardless
  12. Lawro reckons we'll win and that Pardew will get a good reception as the crowd will by now realise he was a good manager for us........ I'd rather we just ignored Pardew but he's going to get pelters tomorrow. I just hope that doesn't work against us. I'd much rather we sang Rafa's praises instead.
  13. They had the same ends and there's plenty of Lpool fans who say that lessons were not learnt or passed on as there were some of the issues in the '88 game as well. There's speculation that Duckenfield was given the role just before the SYP's biggest event of the year as a public smack in the face to the bloke he replaced (he'd been held accountable for a trick played by some coppers on a new recruit). It's madness to think that but for a prank all this may have been avoided.
  14. Empty spaces in the top tier near the home end
  15. The thing is that the jury has spent over 2 years listening to argument and evidence and have decided unanimously that the fans weren't to blame. There will have been fans who'd had a drink or didn't have a tickets but they'll be few in number. The police have drummed this lie from the off and despite this verdict there is still a doubt for some about where all the blame lies. I'm more than happy that the jury has got it right. I was at Newcastle away games twice in 1985 at Hillsborough, the approach to that end was a bottle neck and once in it was cattle run up that tunnel and you couldn't see the terrace beyond, you had no idea how full it was. The 2nd game was on a Boxing Day and a policeman got hold of me accusing me of being drunk. I hadn't had a single drink, we'd come by car and as was normal we'd been stopped as we left the motorway and the police had escorted a number of cars in at a time, telling you where to park. Hillsborough was a great day out but that end of the ground was a constant problem. It's time for the truth to be shouted and for previous lies to be acknowledged and condemned.
  16. The authorities got it horribly wrong and covered it up. Yes, there will have been drunken fans and fans without tickets, it happens at big games on a regular basis. The planning and actions from the police had to take that into account with a fully prepared plan if there were problems. It was no secret that the Leppings Lane End was a bottle neck and queues formed, once in it was like a cattle run. Opening the gates was a death sentence. The fans acted as fans do and did, the authorities failed them massively and treat them like animals. Justice.

Like the Stoke reference; hope Hughes sees it and uses it to get his players to perform.
  18. West Brom are truly awful and we are 10 points behind them. Shocking.
  19. Stoke were awful when we played down there, I just hope they've embarrassed themselves into a performance. On present form, Sunderland's pressing game should see them win. We're down and it's been completely avoidable. It's not like anybody has been in any doubt about what the simple solution was. Charnley should be sacked for keeping that clown for so long.
  20. Thought it was handball by Mahrez, controlled the ball deliberately with his elbow.
