  1. Been told Sland offered Sam a 4 year deal but only money to buy Sakho and a full back. Moyes hasn't given an answer yet.
  2. With 9 league titles you'd be hard pushed to argue that we were bigger than Everton in anything other than crowd sizes. The Mackems crow about their 6 titles to our 4 but from memory 2 of them were won before we were even in the league and a 3rd was won the year we gained entry to the 2nd division. So, on a like for like basis we've won more than them. They were also embroiled in illegal payments to players along the way. Dirty, cheating Mackems.
  3. Tbf in that final Sissoko looked the far better player, so based on that Juve are making mugs of Man U and we are getting what we want. Granted Juve will soon realise what they will have bought. It's like Carroll all over again.
  4. I can't think of a worse appointment as an England manager. Sland have come out of this with a right result. Andy Carroll can expect a recall and we'll have a team where height will be more important than ability in every position with a midfield built on stopping to opposition playing as the primary aim. In possession players will be instructed to belt the ball into predetermined zones on the counter attack. The result will be that we'll beat Iceland but will get embarrassed by good sides. Horrendous
  5. Was thinking that a flag with images of Liam & John with something like 'more than just a game' on it. I wouldn't want to offend others who have lost loved ones and approval of the families would be needed. The families did ask that the 17th minute applause stop and I think it is time it did. Replacing it with a flag where they can be remembered throughout home games kinda apppeals. It could be seen as a symbol for the passing of the thousands of other loyal fans throughout the years. Crass or not?
  6. His knee seemed to take the impact ok. His leg looked a bit nasty. Poor bugger.
  7. Sam would be a good choice for a developing football nation as he makes teams hard to beat but he'd be disastrous for the England job. He may employ loads of the "right type" of staff and he may use OPTA stats and get very detailed reports on the opposition but he uses all of this to play defensive, often long ball tactics with the sole aim of pinching victories. If the FA believe this is the man to lead us to glory then God help us. It'd be more like an appointment to avoid embarrassment and acceptance of getting out of group stages and judging success by getting to the odd quarter or semi final stage. In fact, no, any manager worth his salt wouldn't lose to a Sam side at quarter final stage.
  8. Make a B&W silhouette of this. I would but I have no computer. Would be a great flag - mentioned this on the prev page
  9. Copyright permitting it would be good to have some flags with images of us actually winning things - there's images of players holding the Fairs Cup, FA Cups and if these could be faded a little with suitable wording it would be a reminder to the players of what they are representing (hopefully). There's iconic images of Moncur and Harvey with trophies.
  10. Germany could play all night and not score.
  11. I'd like to see a "Pavel is a Geordie" flag of some sort and a flag for SBR perhaps with that wonderful picture of him with his brolly at the Nou Camp (copyright allowing). Perhaps a forever young flag for Speed. Would also be nice to have some nostalgic flags with Magpies in top hats and tailless (tall thin vertical banner type). Are we allowed one of Joe Kinnear "you're a c**t"?
  12. Pleased for Jotenko but Portugal haven't put in a performance yet to deserve a win never mind a place in the final. They were falling apart against Hungary with Ronaldo's dummy on the verge several times. Pfffft
  13. Just seen the home kit socks. Always been my favourites, licorice allsorts socks.
  14. I think we'd have given France a good game (assuming we turned up). Our performance against Iceland was without any doubt the worst England performance I can remember. It's been said by many that Iceland are not a good side and the French are proving that. Having said that I hope that they don't get humiliated here.
  15. He showed very little effort after his debut. His words in the press weren't followed up with performances. He's got ability but not the attitude needed. I'd get rid; he's on an awful lot of money and doesn't appear to realise that he has to perform week in week out.
  16. He's going back to London and his agent will have been pushing him to leave. There was never much chance if him staying; I do agree that unless Palace were his only option that he could have chosen better.
  17. Good goal and great turn; awful defending, completely sold themselves forgetting about the man with the ball standing on the penalty spot.
  18. Good luck to him. He performed well for us and has attracted bids to stay in the Prem. It's not his fault that we were relegated.

Not sure the Wales players celebrating our exit like they'd just won the thing is that clever. Roy's press conference was great, he genuinely looks like he's been done over badly by all of this.
