Do we know he has asked for 60K a week. He's not worth that but we aren't exactly blessed with centre halves & should he leave do you think Hughton will be allowed to replaced; no, perhaps a loan deal for someone. I seem to remember we got promoted last year not relegated again. There is taking sensible steps to curb the wage bill and then there is taking the piss. MA is taking the piss & if Saylor has asked for 60k so is he & he must have known he'd be told to take a hike.

How do you know what he wants in wages or what we'll offer? If you really put any stock in an article by the NOTW I really don't know what to say. He's supposedly on 55k a week at Marseille, MA will not pay that kind of money. This is a non story for us now unless there is a major change by one or other party. I've no idea what Ben Arfa wants in wages but it'll not be less than he gets now & it looks like W Bremen may not have been able to agree terms after having a bid accepted (unconfirmed but something stopped what looked like a done deal).

Any loan deal would come with an option to buy. We simply wouldn't be able to take that option up due to his wages. The player/ agent would want to know the details of the contract offer that would come with the option to buy & that would scupper the whole deal. I feel we have walked away from this & will stay away unless there is a major change in his expectations or what MA is willing to pay.

He's on more money now than he'd get here, Marseille want to sell as opposed to loan. There's no way he can end up here, even a loan deal with an option to buy isn't possible with what he wants as wages. He'll stay at Marseille unless they get real desperate to sell and he gets more realistic with his wage demands. Unfortunately, I can't see anyway we'll get him. It's hard not to whinge & we have done somethings ok but how the fuck can Nolan still get a game for us, Barton needs to do a lot more tracking & somebody needs to give Scholes a kicking - that would be Nolan, not booked yet & Scholes is picking up the ball in the 15 yard area Nolan can manage to move in. I don't expect anything out of the game but we haven't helped ourselves. I don't want to knock Hughton but Nolan should have gone in the summer & he's ended up captain.

Our allocation did go on general sale. Everton away is open to Members from tmrw & have been available to ST holders for 0 loyalty points for over a week. There were a number of games last season where we didn't take up our allocation as the club didn't want to risk not selling them all. Seeing us get stuffed at OT on a Monday night isn't that appealing; fair play to those travelling down as they will be in for some stick if the goals start flying in.

This is like playing poker with 3 loons. The Marseille CM either knows MA is a twat & is trying to wind him up to buy or hasn't a clue that his actions are likely to tempt MA to play the big I am. Ben Arfa is clearly a loon and & if he signs is likely to cause trouble/ use us to try & get a bigger club. MA is a self important oaf who will gamble millions for the thrill of the moment and therein lies our best hope for this deal. If it's a case of investing in the club MA is rarely forthcoming (yes I know he's put millions in but he's also been miserly where it really matters - on the pitch) if it's a case of calling him out it'll be no surprise if he shows how high he can piss - just for the thrill of the moment. We'll never get to know but I bet the behind the scenes events on this are something else.
