No, thanks. How many times have we bottled it when we've been in a position to consolidate our lead? If that's the stamp of players we've got then we have problems. It should serve to drive them on to 3 points not hang on to a draw. Second half will tell what kind of manager Hughton is; I suspect he'll try & settle for a draw.
-
Should tell them the Notts F ht score, shouldn't then need a team talk; 3 points today & we'd be away & gone

We're going to have to improve here

It was a wreck. Stood in the Liverpool end when Rush scored first & then lost to Arsenal with 2 Charlie Nicholas goals in the LCF. First time Lpool had lost a game where Rush had scored. I had a Millwall supporter screamin "Millwall" in my ear all game & the scousers couldn't care less that they'd lost or that a Millwall supporter was singing his own songs. Was also there when Norwich beat the mackems in the Milk (league) Cup Final. OG and Clive Walker missed a pen - all the Mackems where I was thought he'd scored as the ball went passed the keeper and then sat down again as the ball hit the advertising boards - brilliant.

Why not get a request in at HT with the Birthdays for them to stop or light a match and see who bursts into flames?
-
I disagree. You get a great view from the Leazes corner, and can see the play off the ball better than anywhere else. Aye so the players are not within touching distance but the angle you can see the game from and watch the play unfold is unrivaled, and the views across the city from there are brilliant. I used to have a season ticket in the 2nd row of the Milburn L7 one block away from where the away supporters used to sit. You can see the city, see moves develop but I'm now in the Milburn Paddock & wouldn't move back. I think for a 1st time visitor you'd be better closer to the action.
-
If you want a good view of the match go in the Milburn Paddocks or spend a little more & go in one of the dearer areas just above. If it's singing and a poor view go in the Leazes L7 Corner. You'll get tickets for most areas no probs, but as it's 4 together book asap for the best seats for your chosen area. For the rest it depends where you are staying, when you are getting into town, how old you are and what you're looking for; drink, wildness, food, noise etc. The Strawberry & Shearer's are nothing like what your idea of a tourist bar may be like. I'd suggest you visit the Strawberry in the afternoon, have something to eat (plenty of Italians, Bar Meals, China Town is 2 mins from The Strawberry and there also Japanese, Thai, Tapas & Indian places). You might want to try an Indian; I've yet to see any like we have over in the States. Avoid our burger and steak places you'll be disappointed, Leading up to the match The Newcastle Arms, Rosies, Three Bulls Head & The Percy are all busy but pretty quiet (no music). For something else try Sam Jacks or Idols; loud, busy & a bit crackers. Enjoy.

I'm trying to put some perspective to this. We were awful 1st half, Hughton was doing his dinger on the touchline. Jonas was the best player on the pitch my a distance, if the radio commentators were having trouble deciding between Jonas & Gutherie they need therapy. I can remember 5 simple, shortish passes that Gutherie put straight into touch. It was a great result but a performance that leaves me fearing for away games.
-
Some of the comments made off the back of the radio commentary are just wrong. We were awful in the first half. Gutherie did ok; his passing at times was dreadful & he is too slow in possession. Just because we were trying to pass through him doesn't make it a good performance. The reason we used Gutherie was 'cos Nolan is as mobile as a one legged, arthritic, elephant. He readily held his hands up for their goal; so that's ok. Sorry lads my fault; useless. Coventry simply couldn't handle Jonas, they doubled up on him 1st half, but couldn't get near him 2nd half. Routeledge, Carroll & Lovenkrands all did their bit; back 4 weren't really tested. Leon Best hardly got a kick when he came on. Jonas looked a bit tight in the leg late on; we can't afford to lose him again & we need Jose back.
-
Sounds like a plan; a flawed plan, a fucking flawed plan. 15K a week isn't competitive enough for a top young player and Hughton is hardly Wenger or Ferguson when it comes to nurturing a young player. It is a policy sure to get us relegated if we go up.
-
Teams know to have a go at us away from home and we just can't stop them.
-
Only 1 team going to score the 2nd goal in this game.
-
This is awful. Where is the desire to show that the Derby result wasn't a blip. We are so pedestrian it is unreal.
-
Swansea on Saturday will show what we're made of.
-
Alan Kennedy/ Barry Venison both sported lovely perms at Liverpool, Venison's was still soft permed at Newcastle, not sure if Kennedy caught the disease pre Lpool.
-
He had quite a big perm, so did Jeff Clarke. And, so did half the country, my older brother had a fucking huge thing (like Hair Bear), 7 inch platforms, patch pockets and sports jacket. He looked like a right twat. Being 6 years younger I still had a 3 star jumper.
-
Alan Kennedy; certainly at Lpool Stuart Boam; can't be that sure & did Steve Carney not have a perm moment (can you just imagine it?)
-
I can't see how you can compare the two players. Colo is less injury prone but Woodgate was the far superior player. He was without doubt the best defender we've had in my 35 years of going to matches which goes back to Moncur. Sadly, I'd have to take Colo given the choice, but it's a bit like asking Tony Green or Billy Askew? Injured players are no use to anyone.
-
Our priority has got to be the middle of the park. We are now struggling in every game.
-
Pretty bog standard away performance from us, minus the goal of course. We are getting worse as the season goes on. Without the Jose & Jonas link up we were slow & predictable. Yes, we had new players but we couldn't dictate a game against 10 men.
-
If we continue to play like this we will lose in the Play-Offs. That was awful again; no creativity, poor passing & no goal threat.
-
How has we missed the boat? It was only announced today. Christ almighty. Sought after players we've talked about haven't come (Woodgate, Modric, Kilgallon, Beckford....); actual arrivals have been pretty much under the radar. West Ham are now apparently interested after missing out on Gudjonson. If we talk about a player we haven't yet signed we have a history of not getting them; certainly under Ashley.
-
I think we've missed the boat tbh. He'll go PL. Kilgallon turned us down but jumped at S'land; say's all you need to know really.
-
Rubbish game, good result. CP fans were loud in O'Neills before the game and while walking up to the ground passed Raffertys. Wouldn't have been surprised if 1 or 2 got into trouble; singing in a bar beforehand shouldn't bother anyone but bigging it up on the way to the ground isn't the greatest of ideas.

I'll be quite happy to take a 2 goal loss. I hope WBA go on and have good cup run and we win league matches when they play in the cup.
