He didn't play much last season & didn't seem that committed. There's one off the wage bill.

I'll be very surprised if Dunne ends up here. I don't mind us doing our work quietly but you can't help but feel that the supposed agreed approach we have on transfer targets is having problems. After all that has gone on we could do with an early statement of intent with a fairly major signing. Oh, hang on, that was Modric.............Plan B?
-
Too light weight, too young & couldn't adapt to that pace of the PL. We nearly killed him as a player; totally drained all the confidence out him.
-
Hope Phil Brown doesn't get sacked when Hull get relegated. The quality of the play off game was awful. Stoke are awful too. Good luck to them all the same.
-
When Mort came we all knew it wasn't long term.
-
Barton will likely serve around half his sentence but he has potential for 2 years or so should he go done on the other charge. We've got him so we should try & reform him. We should also be actively trying to do something for Gazza as well.
-
As a club what would we gain by cancelling his contract? Who does that hurt; not Barton that's for sure. Better that we don't pay him while he's in jail & try & re-educate him out of it.
-
Whats the point of sacking him? Football has no morals & we'd lose a player. Another club would simply take him on. If he gets found guilty on the Dabo case he could spend the next couple of years in nick.

def handball, Campbell is off the pace positionally. wish we'd got diarra

Nightmare. Game needs Zenit to score; hope gers win.
-
2nd half Birmingham away. I was convinced after the 1st half that we really could go down.
-
Utter shite, Ashley rumoured to want up & coming young ins & we get linked with Davids lol
-
Of the 3 relegated sides I'd take a punt on Barnes but that's about it, I don't think any of the other players could expect to be squad players if we are to take the club forward. You rarely get players to improve your team from relegated sides. If Owen stays I'd like to see Crouch or even Heskey - who would make a trio of Owen, Heskey & Martins interesting & potentially a handful.
-
Can only hope that this media hyped grovelling meeting in London was in fact a positive, strategic meeting on who & how we will get players in & what we will pay for them. At the risk of sounding like a broken record; we need a dominate, vocal central defender, a creative midfielder player, an all action opposition spoiling midfielder & a good target man. I'd happily take Crouch but I'm not sure where the others are - hope it was a good meeting.
-
Anything that will make the top teams less domineering will simply not happen.

Who saw the Womens' Cup Final in the pub before our game? Now tell me that they can compete against men.
-
Alan Smith - seems like a canny bloke; was once a promising footballer.
-
We played well 1st half, gave away a soft goal & didn't really compete in the 2nd half. Chelski were far from impressive. Referee had blue specs on most of the game. John Terry - shut your mouth you whinging twat.
-
Ginola was better a better footballer than Robert - no question - Robert scored more goals. Waddle was a better player than both.
-
I realise it is difficult to get Shearer & Supermac in the same side but for those off us who saw Supermac play - how do you leave him out?
-
Many of the positions look random. IMO Cantona was the best; he almost single handedly cost us the title - take a look at Manure's results at the end of that season (that's not even mentioning his goal up here) & you will see what I mean.
-
This Taylor needs to progress further, Viduka is still valuable but from the bench, we have to get a replacement fot Butt (albeit he has done a decent job) & Geremi is a definite - we need more than he can produce for us.
-
April is a bit too early to start worrying about how our transfer window is going to go. Out of interest, what's the earliest we've signed or agreed to sign a player since the transfer window came about? Not worrying, just a kick in the balls. Making this signing would have made others easier.
-
Modric going to Spuds is a real kick in the balls for us. KK is clearly looking for a play maker & quality is hard to come by. It is disappointing as we thought we had a chance & look like we've been used again. If Deco is up for grabs I think we'd be used again.
