Look forward to seeing how he gets on Tuesday, early days but for me obertan just isn't doing it, still looks like he's lacking so much confidence. Marveaux might be able to offer more at this stage.

We could be surprised and might fair slightly better v's Villa than we did against QPR simply because Taarabt ran the show and we couldn't cope, I'm not sure Villa have the same kind of player in that position to hurt us? I still expect a loss though, 2-1 maybe. A point would be an excellent result.

This It depends on the replacements surely? In a short space of time Man Utd lost Ronaldo, Tevez & Pique. As long as they're replaced correctly then we should be fine. I'm happy with Cabaye for Nolan, Marveaux for Barton, Enrique's replacement seems like it's going to be better than the likes of Bridge & Shorey which a lot of people were fearing, leaving the centre-forward position to be sorted. This Now that's a question!

Ba isn't any better than Shola, same type of player, almost idential infact! Best has looked more lively and tyhats saying something cos he is crap!

What a terrible footballer

I must admit I haven't watched Liverpool, only highlights. It will be interesting but you got to fancy Carroll getting close to 20 goals which for any team is a good thing. Plus they haven't got many other options other than to start Carroll. Anyway enough of that lol

I know few Liverpool fans on another forum, who are starting to think that Carroll just isn't right for their setup now. They've seen how they play better football without him, though they're still willing to give him time and find a pattern of play with the rest of the team. I had to explain to him that for 1 1/2 seasons Newcastle played almost exclusively to Carroll's strength, and while it wasn't the most attractive football in the world, at least it got the best out of Carroll (and Nolan). Be interesting to see how it develops. I think he fits into liverpools system quite well, they like to play 1 up top with playmakers behind, carroll is perfect to hold the ball up and help bring in those players into the game. He also thrives from good delivery and liverpool have that now.
