Timely reminder that midfield is the primary position the strengthen in the summer.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Isak come in for Wilson, Howe is being very smart at managing Wilson’s game time rather than previously (when we had no choice) he’d play every 90 mins and pick up muscle injuries. I’d also expect Murphy and Burn to come back in.

We always seem to struggle on the small goodison pitch. Think it’ll be an edgy game, hopefully we can take all three points.

This is true, I also think the occasion got the better of of us leading up and including the final. Bruno missing games leading up to the final didn’t help either.

Rice would be a dream signing, any team who gets him will improve greatly. Said before though I don’t expect us to blow 80-100 million on a single player.

Palace played the same way this season (6 at the back without the ball) and we struggled to break them down, hitting them on the counter when we win the ball back might be our best tactic Saturday?

Injuries aside I don’t see Howe changing the team, Willock, Isak and Gordon are great players to bring on after the hour mark for that extra energy. Obviously I’m looking from the outside in but I still think Howe sees Wilson as his starting senior striker.

I just can’t see us spending most our budget on Rice when Howe will likely want to keep Bruno in that starting number 6 position. Yes we do need a player to cover but I feel it’ll be someone else from Europe we haven’t even mentioned for a quarter of the price. I think the money will be spent on high quality higher up the pitch but we’ll wait and see! Exciting times.
