    Sol Campbell

Llambias happens to be a major part of the regime that you have so much faith in Ah - so that old toss gets wheeled out again. So you don't have faith in them then? I'm puzzled I blame them for the things they have done that have had consequences that have been beyond catastrophic. I don't trust them in the sense that I am not totally convinced they won't do something similar again. I think every time Llambias makes some comment in the press whether attributed to him or not he demonstrates to my mind that he is a sly c*nt. I like Pardew and, although he sometimes says too much, he does at least attempt to communicate in a way we can relate to. And tactically and as a manager I think he is an upgrade on Hughton, although that is purely a judgement based on not very much so far. I have seen enough in the recent past to give the club credit where it's due. I don't automatically rubbish anything and everything the club does, or rubbish things they haven't even done yet. It's pretty straightforward really....

Llambias is an absolute c*nt and I have no doubt this "source" is either him or someone instructed by him. I don't know anyone who has anything good to say about him no matter what they think about the direction the club is heading. Having said that, what an utterly crap signing Sol turned out to be.
  4. 4-3-3 maybe? Krul Simpson S.Taylor Coloccini Enrique R.Taylor Barton Jonas Ranger Ameobi Lovenkrands
  5. What can any manager do with him even if they did suss him? He's on a contract that pays more than any other club would give him so why would he leave? All you can do is put up with him and try and get something back for the wages he is paid until his contract ends. And there is no point in saying anything other than positive things in the press about him either, what's the point in a manager saying he's sh*t and overpaid?

    Alan Pardew

At the time Pardew made the comment about Carroll I think he believed it. What AP said was in response to being asked about Carroll by the press and he wasn't going to say that if someone bid £35m and offered Carroll £80k a week (or whatever it is) then there was a deal to be done. The problem was that he came out with his comment when our owner, another club and the player himself could all completely overturn it. Probably best if he says nothing about players leaving - that will, of course, invite speculation but everything invites speculation.
  7. OP by Pilko is probably something like it, allthough never underestimate this club to crank out a completely off the wall signing or two. We'll be a shed load stronger than we are now but there will be uproar because £35m hasn't been spent on transfer fees.
  8. Couldn't resist having another look - and I have to say that looks like a good call.
  9. Ah well I didn't think we would go down this season but I am now very confused now so I'm out of here.
  10. Did I misunderstand your post? Sorry if so. At the time I think there were a number of posters who thought we would go back down without significant investment. And I'm now guessing you weren't one of them.
  11. Didn't we say that a year ago? Can't be arsed to trawl through past threads but, at the time, I seem to remember there was a fair amount of support for the "straight back down" theory. IIRC there was a feeling that we hadn't got enough to create or score goals at this level. But imo we only went down because our owner (and/or his posse) completely pulled the foundations out and shat on the hole that was left. The squad that went down was overpaid and underperforming but was plenty good enough to stay in the Premiership with any sort of stable management. I think our squad right now is very different in terms of profile and attitude but probably just as strong, plus there is the feeling that the manager has the ear of the owner, and I hope I don't live to regret saying that. With some good business in the window and no damaging managerial issues I can't see that relegation is even a possibility.

    Nile Ranger

Like a number of our lot (and other clubs have the same problem tbh) he can do a good job at times and look like a conference league player at others. I have to say he's been a bit unlucky not to have scored in this League. I'd keep him here next season rather than loan him out tbh, he needs watching off the pitch.

    Shola Ameobi

You sound like you may be enjoying that imagery . I honestly don't mind him being in our squad and doing what he does as a third choice striker but that's as far as it goes.

And if the mackems get relegated he's lost that gig.
  15. Yup, totally had enough = he will be here next season and be worse Ridiculously inconsistent and annoying as f*ck but does take a decent penalty though.
  16. I noticed the argument, I'm not sure it was about defending. It came out of nothing and isn't the first time those two have had a go at each other. Saw that. I just think it's Nolan, as captain, trying to keep Enrique on the case when his mind might be elsewhere.
  17. From where we were I'm glad to have a second season and grateful for the opportunity to have a syndrome. As someone above said let's see what happens this summer and have another punt at where we go after that.
  18. I like him personally, he's a love/hate guy but think he's a decent manager. He's shown himself up to be the double standard setting c*** that he is. He was f***ing furious when West Ham 'broke the rules' and sent Sheff United down and a few years later he's doing the exact same thing ffs Can't stand him either but what has happened at QPR was before he became manager though.

Wages = yes we pay. Transfer fee = nowt. Possbility of being a decent player = still yes imo.

    Players in public

I'd be surprised if there isn't gossip about Ashley among the business fraternity in the north east. Newcastle United is a substantial business with an incredibly high profile. And could anyone be totally convinced that Ashley wouldn't sell anyway? The real issues must be whether there is a buyer out there who would match his price and when Ashley thinks its value is at its peak.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if Ireland hasn't really been injured. We haven't used him because we haven't needed him and apparently have some arrangement with Villa over his wages if he doesn't play. In his time with us we have succeeded in adding to the popular perception that he is deranged (note use of bizarre interviews) and also a permacrock. The club has therefore reduced his stock even further than it was at Villa and has thus positioned itself well to buy him for a very low transfer fee. He'll destroy the league next season.
  22. hopefully shearer saw him for what he really was and cant be arsed with him anymore. shearer was a very dedicated footballer and i cant imagine him having much time for people with an attitude like this little c*** in his days with us Do you think Shearer had nothing to do with signing Owen in the first place?
