The co-commentator sounds like he's picked out from under a bridge.

Cisse and Gouffran would be decent back-ups. We're in need of someone that has real quality, though, and another back up. Despite what some journos are saying i cant see another signing on top of the expected Rivierre. Maybe we are working on a loan deal for someone as well? They've probably put all their eggs in one basket and hope Remy comes back, or something daft like that. We need somebody that's going to cost at least 10 million so it's highly likely it won't happen.

de Jong's an interesting one, I think he's going to be a good fit for the league. He doesn't seem like he's going to provide much in the way of creativity but will make space with his movement and plays lots of interchanges and quick passes. It will be interesting, like, my gut feeling is that we'll get a good balance out of these players, even if, individually, they're not as good as the ones they've replaced.

If we sort out out wide then he'll do better. If Cabella's as good a passer as they say he is then Papiss will benefit from that too. We just need to quicken up our attacks for him, he's often making a move to beat the trap (due to his lack of athleticism) and we need to capitalise on that much better than we have. I think if he gets a good run in the team then he'll do alright, he needs a run of games with the right set up behind him. Not ideal, of course, but I don't see us bringing in a better striker, unfortunately.

Yeah. Plus, if more signings continue to come in, it's still a rubbish move from the club to not spend anything for 18 months and then bring in a crap load of players.
-
Some good work but so much more needs doing. Also, absolutely pointless bringing in a bunch of players at once, why not just build incrementally rather than not spending a penny for 18 months? Dicks.

Yep. Really glad they won it.

Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?

For some reason, I find him quite unlikeable now. -
I want and expect Germany to win it.

It's alright, everyone, we've got the vastly experienced and totally proven Remie Streete to take MYM's place.
-
We are run by total fools. Quite possibly, the dumbest move this regime has made, considering our circumstances at centre half.
-
Our best run, last season, had MYM at centre half. I don't think him playing will result in anything near relegation.
-
I reckon a nice, solid 9 will be his league total. I think his supposedly excellent movement will be a great asset for us, as long as he plays as a no. 10. Our uncreative midfield needs all the help it can get in terms of some movement in the final third. We really lacked wiling options, last year, which placed even more emphasis on having to force wonder passes from players that just didn't have it in their locker. It'll also help to have a central player who actually understands the concept of making space, when we play teams that come here and defend deep.
-
To be fair, we need a player like de Jong just as much as we need someone like Grenier, from the bits and bobs I've seen and read of them. Ideally, we'd get both and they'd both be automatic starters.
-
From what I remember, Cabella's quite a high energy player that likes to press. Much more up Pards' Street, if true.
-
Germany to win, I think.

Christ alive. Silva's leadership and organisation is sorely missed.
-
Well, this is pretty tragic. Why is Marveaux training with the reserves?
-
Nobody has said he's definitely now 'good', have they? All that's been mentioned is that he might have improved. I'd wager he's the second best option for a box-to-box midfielder at the club, his actual ability is pretty much a moot point while the competition is poor. While, yes, it's not really a great league overall, there are still some solid teams there and, if I remember correctly, he played well in the big games.
-
Yeah. Whoever said he's between Muller and Nolan probably has it spot on I think he'll be a bit like Anita - in terms of possession style - but in the final third. Lots of pass and move, quick interchanges and layoffs. I hope it gets the tempo up from our often ponderous game, especially against defensive sides. Now, for those wingers and strikers...
-
Don't get too excited. I've seen him play about 30-odd times and, while he's a tidy player, he's no world beater. He's worth what we paid for him (c.£3.75m), I reckon. Very, very hard to say what he'll do in the EPL. When I was living in the Netherlands in 2012 for a year, I saw his brother a number of times also, and he looked the far superior player! I know he's not going to be a world beater, I just have a penchant for players who look to pick up spaces off the ball and play 1-2s etc. I just think he'll be good for the team's tempo in the final third, someone who'll pick up the pace as we have too many non-movers that lack the nous to open up teams with a burst.

Don't think I'd stay sane watching Moussa spend another season out on the right. Here's actually pretty decent out there but it's still a total waste.
-
I hope he gets games central, this season. If Abeid's improved then I think he and Moussa could dovetail each other quite nicely.
