  1. Wonder if Big Mike's impressed with this, the disgraceful cunt.
  2. Well, all I know is my two Lyon-supporting mates think he's a really good coach that'll go on to have a great career. Let's not forget, he went into his first managerial job at one of the most highly-pressurised clubs in France, was told he'd have to build around youth and his best players would most likely be sold every season for the foreseeable. Not only did he 'steady the ship' in terms of results, he bedded in some of the brightest young talents in the country, played entertaining football on the way - with a number of different systems, I might add - and won a significant trophy. Of course, his last season was more disappointing than his initial two, but there'd been murmurs around the local press that he'd apparently wanted to leave after the second season, feeling he'd been at Lyon long enough after so much time as part of the coaching staff. His heart may simply not have been in it as much.
  3. I think you're making a but if a mistake by not considering context here, TCD. Lyon were in a bad situation and were having to compete in a time where big money was starting to come into Ligue 1. He'd also been making noises about leaving for a while, he'd been a part of the Lyon staff for over 10 years. I think their fans' reaction to him leaving said it all. A supporter base who've enjoyed tremendous success over the last 15 years and they make a banner for Garde (the bloke who only won a couple of trophies) leaving, that shows you the success of his project.
  4. Garde isn't at all defensive, like. Like all teams, his side put in the odd defensive display, but they generally played very good stuff. Well, at least when I was more connected to French football they were. They're scoring more because they have Fekir over the likes of Gomis playing with a more mature Lacazette.
  5. Was our fanbase ever so bothered about 'graft' before 'that group of lads'? I remember people would get pissed at Robert for not tracking back and stuff, but it just seems so much more prevalent now for our lot to back supposed grafters and make heroes out of the likes Ryan Taylor and Joey Barton.
  6. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  7. This was a bit different IMO, we had them on the ropes for 45 minutes and played some canny stuff. Aye it's still clearly nowt to shout about in reality but was nice to see. Most games are a non-event if they're not an absolute humiliation and it's been that way for years. First time I've felt really animated by one of our games for a while, good to see us keeping up pressure for a sustained period of time.
  8. His fall will come soon. And it will be delicious.
  9. We all know it's irrelevant, it's just nice to enjoy some football. That's how low we've sunk. Cabella and Perez are lovely to watch. Particularly pleased for the former, Ando and Lowes were slating him before the game saying he's only had one good half all season and he cost £12m. I know it was undisclosed but wasn't the reported fee €10m?
  10. Fucking dog turd. Get Cabella and Perez on for a bit of entertainment, at least.
  11. I'm sure we very occasionally pressed under Pardew. Carver literally has one plan and sticks to it no matter the opposition
  12. His time in France showed his biggest weakness, imo. His win percentage with PSG was much lower than it is with Real, despite the team he was managing being head and shoulders above the competition. Ligue 1 is more defensive and he struggled to break sides down. Although, he should've walked it considering it's a 'Mickey Mouse League'.
  13. I'm not sure if it's just me but the players have seemingly got less and less confident on the ball under Carver. There were a number of occasions yesterday when players just weren't interested in showing for the ball.
  14. Sissoko was fine when allowed to go forward. Carver's ludicrous tactics meant most players were invisible for large periods.
  15. He struggled but a lot of that could be attributed to our horrific set up. He'd get the ball and want to start a move, only to be left without any real options. His instinct isn't to hoof it. He has potential, he played a couple of meaningful passes and shows good positional awareness, a bit raw in the tackle though.
  16. Carver is so fucking dumb, man. He's even worse than Pardew for soaking up pressure. Loads of occasions where players had little options on the ball so it got punted away etc. Played like a lower league away team. Dreadful.
  17. Foster really isn't the type of lad to get involved in any of that kind of stuff. He is, however, shit.
  18. How snidey did Poyet look when going up to Bruce
  19. What fucking horrific comments they are.
