They did....well, actually, it was just Santon who came over, really-Anita came halfway and Elliot sort of moved towards us. To be fair to Santon, he kept on coming in the face of the boos and held his hands up-for which he got applauded. And rightly so, imo- he was being applauded for coming over and facing the stick and being the only one to have the bollocks to say sorry. I've always liked Santon. Always seemed like a good lad. I remember against Benfica last season he made that horrible mistake but spent the rest of the game trying to get forward and make up for his error Yeah, Santon's a good lad, took some actual balls to do that at the end of the game. Thought he showed some decent flashes at RB too.

Or perhaps that's really just his point of view? This arrogant rubbish is the exact reason why this thread is so crap. And telling people that their opinions against someone are irrational or mental isn't arrogant? This thread is crap because people are still trying to bring a reasonable defence to the table for Pardew despite there being none, and people like you coming in all chilled like "It's just his opinion, man" Fair enough, this is my opinion, I reckon it's f***ing rubbish, and people who are sick to their back teeth of the bloke managing us are obviously going to find it pretty antagonising. People like me being rational and having the mental capacity to not keep on getting ridiculously worked up over one person's opinion? People say Ian's the battered wife, what about the individuals that keep on getting irate at what he says when you can just ignore him? I can't say I've ever really seen Ian as arrogant, no, although, it's probably just overshadowed by the far more overt obnoxiousness you see regularly in this thread. I don't agree with Ian, I want Pardew gone but I just see no reason to see stuff like what you've just posted.

You mustn't have attended any of the recent games then? What? The answer is no home games, I go to away games only. And only a handful of those this year too. Did go to Stoke at home but was given the ticket, so f*** it. Ironically enough Ian frequently doesn't watch the games at all but still pops in here to tell people they're overreacting. You're one the submissives then Lining the Fat Man's pocket, however you try and dress it. By going to the odd away game? You know that ticket money goes to the home side, yeah? Does it? Bugger Fair enough.

I just can't understand how he's approaching this period of the campaign. We've got absolutely nothing to play for and yet there's no looking towards next season, no attempt to try and get the players something more positive, no introduction of youth etc. There's just nowt and it makes no sense whatsoever. Playing Anita on the right today reminded me of Fat Sam sticking Smith out there, clueless and defensive and, in the grand scheme of things, completely pointless. How can you be so devoid of ideas? I can see the sense when people say don't just plonk some youngsters in there but we seem to have one or two that are playing quite well and would be a better fit than just sticking rectangular pegs in round holes. We're crying out for a decent wide man and I'd like to see Aarons get a shot, he seems to have something.

Utterly raging at this gimp getting on the pitch. What was the point?

He'll never make it here when the manager uses him in such a simplistic way. I think his athleticism will always hinder him in this country and using him as some sort of battering ram with no movement around him just isn't going to work. He's a technically decent footballer who likes to keep it simple, you play to that by using him as the link man on the deck with players running beyond him. Some sort of delivery from midfield is a necessity too. I feel sorry for him. Come to the club low on confidence and his shot comes when we're in an absolutely abysmal period where half the team appear to have completely shut down for September and the manager is suffering from psychosis. He's a better player than he's currently showing, I'm certain of that.

Mick Lowes is just an arselicker. Used to be good but a puppet now.
-
He'll continue to get away without stick too. Fucking starting Anita at right midfield, that's as blatant a sign as you'll ever get that he simply wanted one of his attacking wide players to sit in and contain one of the worst Man U sides for decades.
-
Absolutely rubbish team selection, again. Shocking substitutions, again. No attacking cohesion, again. Absolutely no vision for the future either. All adds up to a total mess.

Yeah, but surely there's a better way of going about disagreeing than you routinely see in this thread? The general way in which a forum works mean you'll get differing opinions and if you've come here for debate then that's something you should relish rather than resist, it would be rubbish if everyone just agreed. I don't agree with Ian that often but he carries himself in a decent manner and doesn't go on like a total arsehole to people yet he gets some shocking - and unfunny- treatment back. It's unnecessary. You go through the last hundred pages of this thread and there'll be tonnes of posts that are just ridicule or insults. If you've got nothing good to say, don't say anything at all, it's not like it's hard to ignore someone if they're irritating you. The majority of people on here - I assume - are blokes in their 20s and above, you'd like to think people would be a little more mature and wouldn't use the club's situation as some sort of cover to carry on in a daft fashion.
-
Leave then. aye, actually this tbh - if you can't or won't see what the man is doing or how utterly inept he is at his job you're better off just f***ing getting away man see you, hope you enjoy something else and more importantly understand how it works, whatever it is you choose to watch

Fucking hell.

Has Lampard touched the ball?
-
I'm sure he also spent a fair whack at Brighton (for a Championship side)?
-
Improvement going forward in the sense that he could actually take on his man without looking like an utter chump. Was poor at the back, as was everyone. Still worth persevering with, much better athlete and footballer who will learn the defensive ropes in time.

Official: Yoan Gouffran signs new contract with Goztepe
Gallowgate Toon replied to Tooj's topic in Football
Most of the journos before he arrived commented on how much he improved since being put up front, but ignore that... Ronaldo has already been told this but seems to have a very short memory, I suppose the 500 punches to the head per sparring session will do that. Nah, Ronaldo just knows 73 goals in 299 games isn't quite 1 in 2. He was played as a winger for the vast majority of those games. His record as a striker was close to 1 in 2 at Bordeaux. -

The manager coaches the under performing players, he motivates (or doesn't in our case) the players, he selects the players and he tells them how to play the game. Pardew is failing at all of those and that's always going to impact on player performances, it has to. Of course it has an impact, is anyone denying that? But there's a line between motivation and professionalism/character/heart, our players are quick to lose theirs when things aren't going their way. Everyone has been a disgrace today, IMO, they should all be shot with shit. The manager should take majority but those players certainly shouldn't get a bye. The way they seemingly regularly capitulate is pathetic and I agree with Ronaldo that it's not just a management issue, I think this is something that extends from the ethos of the board and their buying policies.
-
it's maddening to me. If it was the case that the management made no difference then why is Ancelotti good? Mourinho? Pep? Its utter f***ing s*** So why do Arsenal capitulate then? They have a great manager with a fantastic style, doesn't stop them from getting tanked. There needs to be a mixture from the manager and players, we've not got that at all. Lack of professionalism from players led by a cowardly manager. Because Wenger, as good as he is, has repeatedly shown he can't get his team to perform against top opposition And yet his teams of old were much more successful against top opposition when they had more leaders in their ranks. The manager deserves shooting for today but the point that we lack character is valid. Some of the wandering about you get from our lot is absolutely disgraceful, I'd be embarrassed to have such an attitude if I was playing in a match.
