  1. Yep. I think the players would do a lot better if they were playing for enjoyment if nothing else. How do you enjoy camping in your own half behind the ball with rarely more one man allowed anywhere near the opposition penalty area? This. I mean, if you aren't planning for next season and have nothing left to play for, surely creating a relaxed atmosphere where players can express themselves and entertain the paying fans would be the logical choice.
  2. Impressive tally of goals for Gerrard.
  3. Cracking stuff from Everton. Martinez has done far better than I ever thought he would.
  4. Nice to see that while he's obviously not re-found consistent goalscoring, he's at least regained some confidence in his general play and first touch. I was quite impressed with some of his link-up, he's obviously not brilliant at it but he's just looking more like his old self where he wasn't horrible.
  5. The escape-goating continues: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/loic-remy-set-return-hatem-6925288
  6. Going to be interesting to see how his role in transfers changes since there's now no DoF or Chairman to work with Carr. Will we finally see Tomkins through the door?
  7. At least they call it like it is. Of course. It's just utterly embarrassing witnessing professional footballers play like that for your club and for it then to be highlighted for everyone for the umpteenth time.
  8. I'm glad we've got the two worst pundits to comment on our terrible defending. Is there any MNF this week? Can't wait for us to be mocked by Neville and Carragher, again.
  9. Gosling's no Premier League player but it was sort of refreshing to see one of our central midfielders turn and look forward when on the ball rather than immediately going backwards.
  10. Kompany's lucky Crooks isn't on this. Can't be having any sensible technology suggestions.
  11. My Dad's pretty much got the same opinion as you but passed up the opportunity to not renew for next season. I just don't get it.
  12. NUFCTV interview: They rose physically ( ) and mentally after the first goal. Lacking quality and togetherness. Unjust decision for the first goal - offside and foul in build up. We lost confidence afterwards which is already down. Third goal killed us off. We weren't offering enough threat and we need to change that, they kept on coming at us like Southampton. We've played 3 good teams and are a little way off with our injuries, if we lose 5 players then it affects us hugely compared to Man U. Need to be focused for Stoke. Needed a goal but it wouldn't go in. Gouffran potentially injured, hence why he came off. Remy will hopefully be included next game.
  13. I'm sure it was Douglas that wrote Ashley was absolutely furious that we didn't get in the Champions League in 11/12 after spending such a 'huge' amount on Cisse in January. I think it was decided from then on that the Europa League wasn't worth it. If Ashley's M.O is solely about cash, then the lack of return from the Europa League will be the main stumbling block. It's not worth investing when the potential capital gain is little, in his opinion.
  14. Apart from relegation, I don't think there's anything. I genuinely think Pardew might last another 3 years here, at the very least. What a thoroughly rubbish situation.
  15. Yeah. It would make far more sense for Ashley too. If he wants to stick with the model of buying cheap and selling for profit then having a coach that can get consistent performances would be something that would benefit him massively.
  16. Or perhaps that's really just his point of view? This arrogant rubbish is the exact reason why this thread is so crap. And telling people that their opinions against someone are irrational or mental isn't arrogant? This thread is crap because people are still trying to bring a reasonable defence to the table for Pardew despite there being none, and people like you coming in all chilled like "It's just his opinion, man" Fair enough, this is my opinion, I reckon it's f***ing rubbish, and people who are sick to their back teeth of the bloke managing us are obviously going to find it pretty antagonising. People like me being rational and having the mental capacity to not keep on getting ridiculously worked up over one person's opinion? People say Ian's the battered wife, what about the individuals that keep on getting irate at what he says when you can just ignore him? I can't say I've ever really seen Ian as arrogant, no, although, it's probably just overshadowed by the far more overt obnoxiousness you see regularly in this thread. I don't agree with Ian, I want Pardew gone but I just see no reason to see stuff like what you've just posted. Well, you know, maybe that's just my point of view? Am I saying you're not entitled to your point of view, like? Or am I simply responding to your post with my opinion that it added nothing to any decent debate around Alan Pardew and it's symbolic of why this thread is now rubbish because it's really about having a dig at a poster? I'm just giving my opinion on your post, that's how a forum works, right?
  17. They did....well, actually, it was just Santon who came over, really-Anita came halfway and Elliot sort of moved towards us. To be fair to Santon, he kept on coming in the face of the boos and held his hands up-for which he got applauded. And rightly so, imo- he was being applauded for coming over and facing the stick and being the only one to have the bollocks to say sorry. I've always liked Santon. Always seemed like a good lad. I remember against Benfica last season he made that horrible mistake but spent the rest of the game trying to get forward and make up for his error Yeah, Santon's a good lad, took some actual balls to do that at the end of the game. Thought he showed some decent flashes at RB too.

  19. You mustn't have attended any of the recent games then? What? The answer is no home games, I go to away games only. And only a handful of those this year too. Did go to Stoke at home but was given the ticket, so f*** it. Ironically enough Ian frequently doesn't watch the games at all but still pops in here to tell people they're overreacting. You're one the submissives then Lining the Fat Man's pocket, however you try and dress it. By going to the odd away game? You know that ticket money goes to the home side, yeah? Does it? Bugger Fair enough.
