  1. I can't tell if this season is going to be easy or hard for him to reflect on for where we go next. Such a weird campaign. Going into the summer, I feel like we need to try and get more defensive mentality back into the team as a starting point. We've conceded a lot of soft goals, comically bad in quite a few cases. A consistent 'keeper will be a big help, but it's also a team mentality thing imo in that we lack bite now. E.g. we should be a dominant set piece team defensively but I feel we've lost simple battles far too often. We do also need more certified ballers so no pressure but that solid spine is critical to get in place for our next phase.
  2. The set piece goals are still really annoying me today Maybe he was already injured but I think it's really, really poor from Tonali for the 4th. When the move starts, Fermin is a couple of yards behind him but the move ends and he's 10/15 yards in front with a pretty straight run - Tonali is an excellent athlete, those scenarios are meant to be his bread & butter. We were 5 minutes into the half so I don't think you can say that was about being tired either.
  3. A really, really poor capitulation, unfortunately. Very proud of so much of the tie so it's kind of weird, but conceding that many is just not acceptable.
  4. Yup. So many soft ones. Really disappointing after the defensive showing on the weekend. We've just not done the basics at all.
  5. Can just tell we've come out without the mentality. The stupid pen give away has killed us.
  6. Couldn't have happened to a nicer little twat
  7. I don't think no Europe next season is disastrous at all BUT I do think it's beneficial to keep us in there for it as an ongoing achievement, we keep improving how we handle a busier schedule, and the Conference can be a good way to bed in new young talent. Whether that outweighs the potential cons is another matter...
  8. He's clearly someone that's spent his time in football knowing he's smarter than the average player but has taken that as he's the cleverest person in any given room. He's absolutely awful.
  9. Get in! LinkedIn Liam has a case of the Artetas on the touchline. Shit, posturing little gimp.
  10. Feel like his performance is being underrated a bit. His all-round game last night was top-notch midfield work imo. There was a phase of play late into the second half where iirc he helps to regain possession, he's being pressed but manages to play a 1-2, then plays a fantastic first-time pass out to LW while on the move. It was liquid stuff.
  11. Such a baller. I still want to see him in midfield at some point. That ability to snake through is so good to watch.
  12. I was in the stadium 20 mins before KO and never saw these at all Came out the ground and was sent an insta reel with fireworks?!
  13. He and Hall were tied for my motm. I thought he was absolutely excellent.
  14. Anyone else think they seemed a bit juiced? Meek as from us after 30. Yes, it's a tough run with lots of injuries, but at least stamp some pride into it.
  15. He's absolutely nowhere. I'm not sure he's the worst I've personally seen for us, but he's the most disappointing. Slow, lethargic, nothing smart or technical in his play. Not even a nuisance, just nothing.
  16. It was a strange game. First half intensity just wasn't there, it felt like we lost too many duels & second balls too easily. Maybe not helped by Howe's initial shape but you expect the minimum to be we're hard to play against. It didn't feel that way. I actually thought how we managed the territory and momentum second half was decent, we got into good positions through nice play a fair bit but, as has been the case many times this campaign, final ball/decision was far too often poor. Anyway, it doesn't matter if everything is firing, when you have 2 underperforming 'keepers, you're going to struggle. I'm starting to actually feel sorry for Pope.
  17. The worst part of the wide play is how much we overwork it. A few times today, we had a good opportunity to get it in, but we play the triangle again, presumably for a slightly better angle, which means the defence is even more settled.
  18. Thought he was really good, as was Ramsey.
  19. It was ridiculously stupid play after, imo, we'd worked really hard to pin them back and get level. We had all the momentum. I thought he'd been canny before that but not enough quality where it matters. He's not the only one there though.
