  1. He was absolutely pelting about against Liverpool and was trying to open up a lot in the cup final too. He's definitely been protecting from some sort of injury over the last 2.
  2. Don't think we'll see him start there at all but it's really handy he can drop into there during games when space has closed up in the centre.
  3. Been an absolute monster the last 2 games. Really taken responsibility.
  4. Really like the positional fluidity between him and Longstaff yesterday. Think Howe tried to rotate in game for legs as well as tactical reasons, but Bruno has the best touch & vision in the final third of pretty much any of our players and we should be getting him in & around there as much as possible.
  5. Obviously, he has immense qualities on the ball, but his pressing over the last 2 games has been the most impressive bit for me. Takes a certain mentality of forward to do it, I thought that's where we might miss Wilson the most considering our defend from the front ethos.
  6. Crime against football that assist doesn't count.
  7. That run before the slip was great, shame it didn't come off. Why do so many of our lot slip?!
  8. Doing that thing where we're getting way too wound up.
  9. This'll be a tight game. They have injuries but obviously something works well for them at home. Have a feeling that we could sneak a 2-1.
  10. If only that pinger from the edge of the box had gone in - ridiculously crisp strike. Was right behind it and looked destined to be a goal but for a fantastic block.
  11. I'll be canny happy if we see Shelvey in their starting midfield against the legs of Willock et al.
  12. Howe confirmed he's playing through some pain at the moment. Not sure he'd be starting if Big Joe wasn't out. For all his talent, he's a proper fighter above all else. The backheel for that corner move was absolutely insane. The vision to do it but then the perfect weighting for a backheel through ball that late in a game.
  13. Yeah, definitely some switching between him & Bruno to presumably try and get the latter on the ball more. I think Wolves were doing the midfield box tactic pretty well to limit passing options into him for periods of the match.
  14. He got a bit of a second wind for a few minutes before he came off but there was a short spell towards the end of the first half where he was barely moving
  15. His goal return is astonishing considering what we've seen in the years prior. I thought he'd improve under a better manager but it's still nuts - this is the lad who was struggling to get them on target nevermind looking like scoring. Super pressing when he came on as well. We're not blessed with lots of wing talent but we have some fantastic willing runners there.
  16. The best thing about his performance yesterday was that he didn't really have many phases where he was passive/not looking to get involved. So far this year, he's been good but quite bursty in games. Maybe that suits his physicality more overall but it felt like he really made an effort to step up with Joelinton out and Wolves giving Bruno so much attention.
  17. Got real potential to become a pressing freak with those legs. He also does this thing sometimes when the defender has the ball he then starts to jog into an angle and then suddenly hammer it after them in no time. Been a big Wilson fan but he's just nowhere near the same level as a footballer.
  18. His pressing is elite but his defensive work in the middle of the pitch does need work and is where I think we missed Joelinton a bit. Still, he was relentless and took responsibility so often.
  19. Agreed. I like him but he felt like a weak link in the trio today, struggled to get into it for quite long stretches and seemed to get caught defensively too.
