The league campaigns when we reached the 2 FA Cup finals (in which we were sadly embarassed both times) were wretched. The one under Dalglish was nigh on a relegation battle. The less said of Gullits time the better. Only the Bobby years were good enough to look back on with some satisfaction. After that he had the managerial merry go round of Souness, Roeder etc etc etc. We may have a couple of UEFA cup runs but on the whole, the general feel around the club wasnt great. End of it all, won zero.

Hibs going into their game today with 4 strikers in a 4-2-4 formation. Thats the spirit. Are you watching Hughton

Given went through more bad times than good in his time here. In times when we are told that its all about winning trophies, its amazing he lasted as long as he did.

No offence to you personally but I absolutely hate that phrase. We just havent got the team to rise to the occassion when needed. It was said so often last season, the subsequent failure to produce the required result has just left me cold to the phrase.

Why are people surprised about footballers only looking after themselves ?

I think you'll find that most clubs will be operating along these lines in future unless they have a massively rich owner willing to spend millions of their own money selflessly. Its a pity that Ashley doesnt realise than in order for these young players to be "sellable", they need to be producing good, regular performances, playing to a high standard of football. Cant imagine there is a queue to buy our first team squad at the moment.

Calling for his head is pointless, I wouldn't trust Llambias and Ashley to replace him with anything better, he's not the only clueless one at the club. Colin Calderwood is the next Manager in waiting.

I guess you wern't around for Nicky Butt against Man Utd in the FA Cup semi final. I was at Blackburn once and Darren Bradshaw was so shit, 20 minutes after coming on as sub, he was subsituted (and he was not injured)
