  1. How would you feel if he flogged the name Newcastle United Football Club ? (I am assuming that he could, if he so wished)
  2. Lets be honest, the biggest gripe is that we wont see the benefit of the money. If it had been suggested by an owner/chairman who genuinely would have used the money for the benefit of developing the club and the team, then I like to think that most fans, whilst probably begrudgingly, woudl understand it. It's because it's this twat, and the way he slipped it in on the same day as the Hughton appointment, that has got most people back's up.
  3. Maybe the word impression isnt right but the clubs ground, often gets referred to when discussing the team, match report etc. They dont say, now lets go over to see how Newcastle Utd, sponsored by Northern Rock, are getting on against Cardiff, sponsored by Asobet (or whatever it is). Its all superficial I know but I just wouldnt seem right hearing SJP referred to as something else.
  4. Only NUFC fans would still call it SJP. As the media would take on the new label, all non-NUFC fans would start to call it likewise. You would hear it on the radio, on the TV and read in the paper and in magazines. Basically the whole world bar NUFC fans would call it by the new name and for me, thats a sad thought. Sponsors on a shirt, doesnt change the worldwide vision/impreession of the club 1 bit. We are still NUFC, who play in B&W shirts at SJP. So I would choose a)
  5. It might just be the Championship and we might be a total shambles of a football club, but there is some small pleasure in the act of checking how many points we are off the top positions instead of like last year
  6. Cardiff seem fairly sharp up front. Chopra looked ok frm what I have seen.
  7. But he is already speculating when Shearer might get the job. Thats bonkers to be talking about the clubs next manager when the latest one has just been appointed.
  8. Can you class an interview like this as a lack of support for Hughton. Why is Nicky Butt talking about this with the press ?
  9. Hull's difficulty may be attracting a manager of a quality that will actual get more out of their group of players.
  10. I agree with Mick. We need Ashley out long before any return to the premier league. The idea of us out-doing Derby's low points total sends a shiver down my spine. Last season would pale into insignificance against a season like that.
  11. I'm slightly worried that they may somehow get Guus Hiddink to replace him. (not based on any info I have) Could someone please re-assure me that this couldn't possibly happen
  12. Didnt Gibson say he made the change because the attendences were dwindling ?
  13. For their new managers first game ?
  14. Bloody tough call between Torres and Drogba but I plumped for Torres because Drogba's over acting doesnt half wind me up. All 3 are absolute class mind
  15. Redknapp was an ungratious wanker in his post match interview. Every mention I have heard of the match today has raved about Fabregas' goal yet he just completely refused to acknowledge it and instead went with "you lot keep going on about Fabregas's goal but it was all our fault"
  16. In an interview with 5Live tonight, the interviewer asked him "Where do things stand now?" His reply : "We stand here in the bottom 3 of the Premier League and you stand here next to the best manager Hull City have ever had"
  17. easier said than done wouldn't you agree ?...then again arsenal tend to live within their means. of course. It was rather tongue in cheek but its didnt take Wenger long to create what he wanted. Arsenal planned, sought out and chose the manager that they wanted and it paid dividends. (although i genuinely believe that it wouldnt be so easy to do that at a club that isnt based in London)
  18. I think he should follow the business model of one of the bigger, more profitable clubs... lets say for arguments sake, Arsenal.
