Some presenter on TalkSport - Matthew Norman - has just said "And Newcastle fans. Are you going to call in to defend the hiring of Alan Shearer as Manager by your Chairman Mike Ashley even though it looks like that appointment is going to mean your going to get relegated! I have to admit, early part of the week I was ridiculoudly nervous and uptight about it. for some reason I have calmed down as Sunday has approached and I feel ok now.

I agree that it will feel awful but you know, for me, I think there is going to be an element of relief that the season is finally over. We have been rubbish before and I have experienced relegation before back in 89 but I think this has been the worst season to endure because of everything on an off the pitch - for me anyway. I just want it over with. Only 24 hours left.

I am embarassed when I think of players like Nicky Butt and Michael Owen. These are big name players as far as english football goes and we will probably hear their names mentioned for a few years after they finish playing (especially Owen). It makes me go cold to think of what they may say to people and the detrimental things they will be saying about our club.

Sounds like he is just making bullshit up. He also went on about us calling oursleves the "Geordie Nation". I cant recall a fan ever referring to oursleves as that. Only just came back to me today that Everton missed relegation by beating Wimbledon 3-2 on the last day. Weren't they 2-0 down at one stage as well? Yes they were. I think it was one of the games in which the enquiry looked into Hans Seger's performance
