  1. Dont tempt fate Dave. He's a good mate of Dennis Wise
  2. Yeah that was very odd. I got the feeling when I read that that his time at Portsmouth was limited
  3. Not sure where else to put this.... Just listening to Andrew Warshaw, journalist on Talksport and I was only kind of half listening but it sounded like there has been some big meeting in Geneva today about a quota system (I guess on foreign players) and Chelsea and Newcastle didnt have representatives there. If anyone else heard the interview, I would happily be corrected if I didnt hear that correctly...
  4. have made an approach I guess i picked the wrong thread so I repeat... Portsmouth have apparently made an approach for Sven. 24 hours it took them to get going.... I think I have another question for Llambias

  6. Shit. You got there first. I was trying to think of some song reference
  7. Well reading this thread there seems to be some uncertainty about it all
  8. Not quite sure why there are so many derogatory responses to HTT's post. Maybe no one is interested in the points he has raised. Seems perfectly fair to me
  9. So is it a minimum of £8 million or a maximum of £8 million... more brilliant clarity from the club to get fans guessing and arguing amongst one another. Hope is does get defined before the next window opens.
  10. It was Joe that said Mike Ashley was going to speak wasnt it ?

    Aston Villa

I think 3rd place is definitely attainable for them. With Arsenal and Chelsea seemingly imploding on themselves, the chance is there. All they then need is for Liverpools luck to run out and 2nd is a possibility. I think Man U are just too strong to think about being Champions. Marvellous season they are having though. All their fans that I know down here as well are canny - not an arsehole amongst them
  13. If I didn't like my current sig so much that would be going in it. What did I miss? Curbishley is better than Jose
  14. Is it me or is it a bit harsh of the media to be throwing new manager names out there 24 hours after Kinnear goes into hospital for health check ups ?
  15. Be canny if that was printed as a full page letter in the chronicle/journal
  16. It's worrying just how easily Taylor gets turned. Getting planted on his ass by average players on a regular basis. I honestly think some sort of lessons on how to keep his balance (ballet? ) would do him the world of good. Prefer him to have some defensive coaching first. I don't think he's that bad. He does at least chip in with the odd goal from time to time (just something for the "Pros" column)
  17. Tottenham fan that I work with truly believes a comment heard by some pundit somewhere when they said he was "the 2nd best passer of the ball in history behind Enzo Scifo"
  18. I am not sure I would expect an educated journalist to write something as poor as that
  19. Agree with that too. Cant help but respect the man
  20. I think this is where the difficulty in man management comes these days. If a foreign player is out for a couple of weeks and he asks to go to his home country for a few days, do you allow him and trust him to stay fit or demand he stays and risk them having a strop
  21. Yeah. I guess there arent meany other (stable) multi-million pound companies that are factoring their payments.
  22. To think he is still performing so well for them, after so many years, is very impressive. As much as I disliked him for the damage he helped cause Keegans team, you have to admire players like him and Scholes. Not a celebrity/media whore like Beckham as well which I like.
  23. The Company doing the factoring have to wait and are paid on normal credit terms, the 30 or 60 days that I mentioned but they pay us early, usually within 24 hours and that costs us 5 to 10% of the transaction value. Ah that makes sense. Cheers Mick
  24. Does Factoring necessarily mean immediate payment? I am sure we get Invoices from suppliers at work that are payable to factoring companies but they are still due in the normal 30 days credit period
