Its all the same thing. It showed that Abramovich would only settle for the best that he could possibly get - in every possible position at the club. He knew that the appointments he made off the field were as important as the ones made on it.
-
Well he's certainly done his best to tarnish his reputation and played his part in getting us back in the division we were in when he first arrived. His actions also put the way he quit back in 97 in perspective too. Disgraceful really. Sick to my stomach thinking about this man. Never mind. At least you still have Ashley to cure your nausea
-
They simply cannot ignore us
-
Saw that, thought he must of done that as a joke as he didn't look like he was a mong Was it Mike Ashley or Derek Llambias ?
-
Lucky buggers. At least they have closure now
-
Whether it be Llambias or his side kick then its utterly disgraceful. Maybe an indication that he is not expecting to be back in August
-
There would have been uproar if he had. I dont believe it
-
This summer is going to be bonkers anyway what with possible talk of Kinnear coming back, player departures etc
-
Worry about this next Sunday night

Heard a good comparison recently that said when Abramovich went to Chelsea and wanted to make them the best, he went and poached the Chief Exec of the world biggest football club in Peter Kenyon. Ashley came in and took a guy who had managed a casino. The gulf between the 2 choices of men are quite unbelievable and go to show how poor Ashleys decisions have been.

I would like to think that Shearer would be a good draw for any up and coming young player. Say we go down, all it will need will be a good start to the season and this place will quickly get buzzing again.

How do we know that Keegan didnt threaten to quit at the meeting he was hauled to down in London but Ashley made promises for the transfer window that he didnt come through with ? EDIT : And that public slapped wrist was dreadful PR when they could have just had a meeting at the club away from the gaze of the London media

NUFC is a fucking fantastic place to be if things are on the up. The passion and the desire of the fans is something that should attract an owner who wants to be the one to bring it back. Ego should have potential owners thinking "I want to be the one that puts them back on the map" EDIT : Thats not me conding the protests by the way. I agree that they have achieved nothing.

WUM Terry Venables refused a contract that supposedly offered him £100,000 a game until the end of October. Why do you suppose that was? I'm inclined to believe it's because we were a laughing stock with our cockney vendetta. Perhaps he didnt want to be seen as a desperate, money hungry ex manager. Is it also possible that Venables spoke to Keegan to find out his side of things and made a decision based on what he heard from all parties ?
-
But he didnt actually impede him. Opponents stand close to the goalkeeper at every corner, in every game, every week
-
What was the mood in the city like last night. Did anything kick off ?
-
We've put out a team unable to compete all season
-
Me too. I am staggered
-
NUFC relegated. TV arent going to pass up an opportunity like this. Nailed on to be on TV. To be fair its the hightest profile game of the weekend now the Championship has been decided.
-
That is quite sad , bless them. Fuck me. 10 pages long
-
That says more about the players and the structure that Ashley supposedly had in place
-
but we are really SHIT. Very, very shit. But you've got something to play for. We haven't, and we're just as shit of late. Honestly, i mean, really, really shit. How we're sixth (and have only just dropped there) is absolutely beyond me, but there you go. Its probably got all the hallmarks of a crap game which will be decided by a mistake. 1-0/0-1.

Rubbish, when he quit, we'd only played 3 league games, 3 games that had us 4 pts, one point more than most people would've expected, we've played 34 games since then......thats plenty time to get things sorted. true enough....but his timing to leave was planned imo to cause the maximum damage. At the time it could have been just a threat to quit - therefore creating maximum fear. He may have assumed that Ashley would have the forethought, like SJH did, to realise that NUFC with KK was better off than without. What he maybe didnt account for, is that Ashley is a thick cunt and assumed his men could handle it
