What about the, "it is a fact that..." statement, which went down like a lead balloon? Are you surprised given the way that it was released and worded ? (and I aint going to get involved in going over the whoel subject yet again )

So if Keegan is to be proved to be the bad guy after all, why didnt Ashley just come out immediately and tell us. Then we could have moved on straight away and salvaged something of the season. JK coming out with too much of this shit now for me. All I am interesting in heating talk about is the next game and the state of the squad/injuries
-
But Woodgate and Modric didnt sign did they. Isnt that the problem?
-
You just know Bentley is going to get it
-
Well done referee for giving a penalty for a blatant shirt pull. What are the WBA fans boo'ing for ?
-
Chelsea look awesome like

I know what your saying. Its just a fine line between playing a long ball, pressing style of play and just going all out to just kick the shit out of the opposition. I remember Mark Hughes early Blackburn side seemed a bit like that
-
Aye. Some nasty tackles going in there. That one on Adebayor wasnt good. The ball was out of play for fucks sake
-
Stoke's 2nd Goal. Call me a football snob but come one man, thats not fucking football

Am very wary of MOTD highlights but certainly amazed that Liverpool lost that. Just shows you that when your confidence is up, things can go for you

Nah, i have to give him a lot of credit tbh. He's made some superb substitutions since he took over. Taking Hutton off and putting Gunter on when we're 4-2 down to our rivals with 10 minutes to go, looked like a wtf decision, but Gunter was excellent in that game. Putting Lennon on today and against Arsenal was excellent. Putting Hutton on at half time today was a great decision as he overlapped Bentley and offered width. Putting Pav on to partner Bent today was another good decision (altough it was pretty obvious he shouuld do that). Giving modric a free role is another excellent decision. Still would never have thought you would have over come Liverpool who have been looking capable of shutting anyone out. Maybe you caught Liverpool being too cocky thinking they have cracked this premiership lark just because they beat Chelsea last week. We should have wrapped the game up when we had them under the cosh. We had our chances, didn't take them, and paid for it. Must admit I was surprised at the result. Heard the first 20 minutes or so on 5Live and it sounded like an absolute stroll for your lads. Very uncharacteristic of you so far this season to lose it like you did

Agree entirely but whether it be by luck or by good judgement, in this case, Levy and his cronies appear to have acted swiftly and have made a good choice. Dare I say, they appear to just gone and done what is necessary for the long term benefit of the team and the club (ie. pissing away a whole ton of money in paying off the previous management team's contracts) and not worried about how it might look on the balance sheet in the short term
-
I think your right I just wish we were in a bit of a better position at the minute to allow us to truly put them down for it.
-
Perhaps underestimating how special it was for them to beat us ? We might belittle them because we have had the upper hand for so long but for them, they seem to be greeting it as a monumental achievement (seemingly the equivalent of us beating Barcelona). Its all relative really.

He owns the club. he can do whatever the hell he wants
-
So it just shows that every club is capable of this. If I wanted to keep this going I could say that this was an FA Cup Semi-Final so it was a tad more significant that a league game but thats splitting hairs. Be interesting to know if that came out immediately or after their cup final win over us. All I was getting at is that we, and obviously all fans, can be guilty of going over the top over just 1 match and 1 result.
-
Your right mate. I just worry that sometimes we forget that we can be guilty of exactly the same things.
-
Personally have no real problem with whats now happening for them and am just jealous really. Their management realised their fuck up, acted, put it right and within 7 days are reaping the rewards. Pity our fuckwit management team are not as decisive and positive thinking

Beating the best team in the land 5-0 to go top of the league, or beating a team 2nd bottom in the table in a scrappy 2-1...not quite the same is it? For me it is to be honest. Its 1 game out of 38 and while its great to celebrate amongst ourselves for the next 24/48 hours, I dont think the club should have acted like gloating school children. I am sure Man Utd sold more mugs with "Champions" on than we did of the "5-0" ones at the end of that season. there is a world of difference tbh. Bet if you asked Man U fans at the time they would say exactly what we are saying now about the Makems

Of course games like this are the marketing depts dreams but I think it indicates the current weakness in the mentality of clubs like Newcastle and Spurs. Instead of enjoying the result and then moving on to the next game, the fans act on like they have actually won a trophy. If there was more of a mentality of "well it was a good result but until we win some silverware it means nothing", then we may get a bit closer to actually achieving something. For me it was proved no more so than a week after the 5-0 when we went to Leicester and lost 2-0 - for me rendering the 5-0 useless. Look at Sunderlands 2 results since, the over-reaction to the result against us has completely knocked everyones focus (although granted, Chelsea could have stuffed them at any given stage)
-
Cant make it up can you. Things going their way at the minute. All Harry's doing of course Fucking Liverpool. When I want to them win they fuck it up royally. I should wished them a defeat like I do most weeks
-
Yes you can, keep quiet about things that need to be kept quite (ie transfers, contracts) and talk to the fans about the general structure and future of the club i disagree, and i think you can see that by saying something he could easily tie himself up with his previous words. Saying something only for it to change would only make a bad situation even worse. He's right in saying fuck all, i can guarantuee that something willl be said when someothing definite happens and thats the right way to do it. Thats the thing though, he is saying stuff through JK - thats what makes it all come across as fantastically amateurish

I think its as much how they are doing it as apposed to what they are saying. If they want to keep it all in house then do it - keep everything secret, across the board. Dont drip feed the team manager what appears to be utter tripe about the intended take over so that he passes it out every now and again in the middle of his pre and post match press conferences. For what ever reason, they are allowing JK to pass out this info and its just adding to the confusion.
