They will be a shambles next season.
-
Went to the 'Football Manager Cup' match between AFC Wimbledon and Watford, finished 2-2 so the cup was shared. Hopefully we can manage to share a trophy with someone this season.
-
Well if 'everyone' is getting a fresh start, would be even crazier to let him go, especially without a replacement confirmed. He's obviously been hit and miss since he's been here, but he's a goalscorer - even in a side that doesn't create many chances.
-
It's very easy to look at YouTube videos and get excited about a player (Luque anyone?) but having watched one with him, I'm quite excited about his off the ball movement. That's one area we've been a bit lacking up the pitch so fingers crossed he comes in and gets coached the right way and not the Pardew way.

Cisse scores. 1-0.

Dat overreaction. Has a year on his contract left, has been training all week and not involved at all? Seems an ideal candidate to move on considering the first signing we're making is a midfielder. He was late back at training due to playing International football at the end of last season. Hardly a surprise he isn't playing tonight. Phew, cheers for the clarification. Overreaction indeed then.

That's Abeid done then.

wijnaldum wijnaldooo hey p*ss p*ss p*ss nipples to the tune of jailhouse rock Shame we didn't sign Bas Dost as we could have used this tune - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-xG3D8OMQk "Bas Dost loose, about this hoose!"
-
Takes Evans away from Man Utd and he'll quickly look like John O'Shea. An accident waiting to happen.
-
Hope he's giving it a real go this year and wasn't one of the "two" sent home from the first day of training for being five minutes late. Don't think I saw him on any of the videos.

We should offer Obertan, Williamson, Elliot, Gouffran & £8m If we offered that lot we'd have to pay QPR £20m.
-
I don't really understand what anyone could have possibly expected instead? McLaren calling the whole previous management structure awful and that Pardew and Ashley are both c***s? Then revealing every single player we're trying to sign which will increase both other clubs potential interest and price? And then to finish it off, bringing out Obertan and Williamson and giving them both a kick up the arse and saying they're absolute crap? Would have been good yeah, but there's no way in hell they were ever going to do anything different to what they did. They won't apologise for anything ever. And even if they did, apologise how? "Yes we are running the club into the ground, but we're glad there's still enough idiot Geordies to keep us afloat buying tickets and shitty merchandise, even when we've brandished Wonga's name over it".

Desperate for us to sign a bloody centre-back. Won't be happy with Willo or Saylor in a position to start games for us consistently.

Like the way that Chronicle article has completely forgotten that Anita exists.

I am terrible at pronouncing football players names. This player is a nightmare to me.
-
Seems to make sense to me. He's got a year at Cardiff to make the grade and come back to prove it. 2-years on a relatively small salary seems fine. This is of course assuming we're looking at other players as our current wide options are Gouffran, Aarons, Cabella, Obertan and I guess Perez. Two of those I'd ideally never seen in a Newcastle shirt again. 5 players for two positions isn't batshit crazy but they wouldn't have let him leave on loan without at least some kind of plan. Right? RIGHT?
-
How long have you followed Newcastle? We've had horrendously bad transfer windows every year for at least the last 10 years. What about the glorious summer when we signed Le Sib?!
-
Thread's gone a bit off-topic but must say I've always liked Bigi and the stories I've read about him (how he got signed by Coventry originally and when he was training on the beach and ended up invited to a random wedding), but when he's played for us he's taken some absolutely horrendous set-pieces.
-
Would be our best midfielder if he came back here, but would be absolutely staggered if that happened. Palace seems an odd move but whatever. Would still applaud him if he did play against us for another Premier league club, even after the Arsenal incident. Think football fans can be pretty petty about a lot of things when players move on. One bad decision off the field easily overshadows everything good done on the field for some. Similar to how some still hold a grudge against Given for leaving. Seems mental for me given how much of a fucking shambles the club was then, and the amount of his career he'd already given (pardon the pun) us.
-
Alan Shearer is one of the all time top 3 Premier League strikers, but right now I'd say Victor Anichebe is better than he is. Just because a player was good doesn't mean they still are. And putting my grumpy old man hat on, bloody hate the 'Premier League era' bollocks. There's a hundred years of football casually dismissed because people can't be bothered to know football history. For what it's worth, I'd say on recent form there's not much difference between Hart and Cech.
-
McClaren's probably waiting for the board to analyse in their infinite wisdom that he isn't very good before we ship him off somewhere where he becomes a midfield lynch-pin.
-
Would prefer him just being 3rd-4th choice CB and Haidara the backup LB to someone we could sign who is half decent.
-
That's exactly what I said on the page one
-
Not if we were ran remotely decently. If you look at it that way the only players we can get are at worse clubs than us and there isn't many of them knocking about There's literally no reason we can't get Benteke, Villa finished below us. We could get Berhaino if we wanted to, Lacazette/Fekir would want to play in the PL. Bacca prob an unrealistic shout but f*** it. The amount of money kicking about, in particular at NUFC means we should be able to attract good players. Except the fact a number of Champions League clubs would take him and he'd get at least double the wages we'd be willing to pay. Other than that, literally no reason.
