Was difficult for him today bearing in mind the absolute drivel that was played up to him.
-
Could be worse. We could all support Stoke instead.
-
Souness was an utter horror show at Newcastle. Remember the exact second I heard Bobby had been sacked. Still trying to forget the moment I heard Souness was taking over.
-
Second goal played everybody on then didn't bother to track his man. Baines easily won the battle of the left-backs today (albeit it up against a RB with a CB behind him, followed by a RB with a ghost of some sort playing in front of him).
-
Everton just better than us today. Think Harper, Williamson, Jonas and Tiote should come out of the game with credit. Nowhere near as bad as the Fulham game, absolutely crazy talk.
-
Was very good again today. Compare what he gave us down the left compared to the dross offered up by Simpson and Lovenkrands down the right (albeit out of position) we're lucky to have him.

Did well first half. Still a fucking idiot for that challenge.

Still think Willo and Colo have a better understanding than Taylor's ever had with pretty much any Newcastle CB.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?
thenige replied to kirkwdavis2001's topic in Football
Too early to talk of Europe. For what it's worth, I'd fucking hate it if we qualified and did that 'play the reserves' shite which too many managers do these days. Would love to have another crack, just to make up for the Marseille and Sporting games. -
Great win that, CB's again played well, Jonas and Tiote both eye-catching displays. Just the sort of games we need to be winning and after a lovely early goal did so fairly comfortably.
-
Done well again, bloody love you Jonas.

Personally I like FA Cup replays. If you scrap replays and the like, it pretty much makes it exactly the same as League Cup (aside from the Semi's). I like the Champions League idea, (they should also do this for the winner of the Europa League, but that's another story.) The only other thing they should change is make teams play their best sides, but that's nigh on impossible to enforce as teams can just say their best players are injured anyway.

Was as close to a perfect performance today from him as you could ask for.
-
Yeah played bloody well today, link up play was spot on. Had a couple of half chances he didn't hit well, but put a number of decent balls into the box and ran their defenders ragged. Enrique was unbelievably good, but Jonas (and a couple of others to be fair) weren't far behind.
-
It's in the Mirror. Just ignore it.
-
Wouldn't sell him for £8m given our current squad and Pardew's history with signings. Would rather keep the player. Can't believe some of the hatred Jonas gets on here.
-
Parker played bloody well tonight.

What do you make of the idiot football fans who have tried to completely overlook your legacy at the club just because you were (rightly) desperate to get away from the moronic management that was clearly sending the club down the shitter?
-
Simpson has looked good since he's come back with injury. Always strikes me as a kind of player who has a couple of bad performances in him which are waiting to come out, but if he does find that consistency can't see why he can't be our first choice for a fair bit of time. Needs to work on his decisions (sometimes he fails to close down and lets players have too much time/space) and also on his link-up play, but in fairness to that, he hasn't really had a proper RM playing in front of him.

I was watching the game on TV, and it was as close as I've been to turning it off at half time, but couldn't even bring myself to do that. When you've got more money invested in it having brought a ticket I don't know, but I do know that's as mental as I've gone as a Toon fan since the Feyenoord game. Their money, they can do what they like - but people really piss me off when they leave five/ten minutes before HT/FT as they have to stand up in front of people to get out. That does grind my gears.
-
The more I see this, the more I get pissed off with our fans. Are we children? Christ, are people not allowed to have an opinion? Liverpool are a big club, a club far more successful than us and fair play to him for wishing his mate all the best.
-
Newcastle first, England a very very distant second.
-
This pretty much. Only looking for players at value, we're just not in a position to spunk loads of money of players (like Villa did with Bent) or take massive risks anymore.
