  1. Bloody loved Beye, hope he gets out of Villa and finishes his career at a club that'll actually appreciate him. Don't blame him at all for leaving considering how much a shambles thing were at that time. I did get the feeling he'd have rather stayed, but considering how bad we were at THAT game at Orient, as said can't say I blame him.
  2. You say about his shooting, but I think that's hindered his development as much as anything. Now every time he gets the ball in space everyone shouts 'shoot' and although if he gets it right he has a great strike on him, ask Man Utd fans, he doesn't get it right all that often.
  3. Didn't realise that part of his sentence was 'don't let him continue with his day job.' The amount of grief he'll get from the stands mixed with that actual punishment sentenced by the judge I would think is fair enough.
  4. Absolute bag of wank, and that's doing a bag of wank a disservice. Saying that, if we draw Layton Orient in the cup he'll look good...
  5. Didn't realise we were getting the entire stadium and club with him. Fair enough I guess.
  6. Is a good player but only played half a dozen games for Villa. Would be very surprised if he moved on, think the deal was only made permanent fairly recently. Same with Makoun, neither played got much of a chance last season despite being highly rated abroad.
  7. Same Portsmouth that went under, and signed Utaka? To be fair they scouted Sami Khedira and highly recommended him when he was at Stuttgart, not their fault the management team went out and signed Hayden Mullens instead.
  8. Friend of mine scouted him when he was working for Portsmouth, albeit this was a few years back, but his report pretty much stated that he's almost totally left-footed and is more of an athlete than a footballer. Hopefully he's vastly improved since then, seeing as he's a full French international I'd be very surprised if he was Amdy Faye mkII.
  9. Has always looked decent when I've seen him. Also a very solid player on FM so must be good

    Chris Hughton

For the first time ever I think I actually like Brum. Just knowing he's there makes them an infinitely better team (in my head at least). Good luck Chris!
  11. Stopped reading there to be honest. Daily Mail, christ.
  12. Would rather have Gio Dos Santos than bloody Taarabt. Reckon he'd have ripped up the Champ just as well if not better.

Fair play to him, he got a chance and by and large he took it, but if you look at his career record he's not exactly prolific. He's the kind of player who goes through spurts of goals then dries up. Would you honestly want him as say fourth choice standing in front of players like Vuckic, Airey and Shola mkII? Fair enough it seems odd to sell him with no-one coming in, but touch wood the transfer window has been pretty good so far, so they must have at least one or two in mind that are fairly concrete bets to come in. Another one like Nolan where it's cheers for the goals, but it'd probably be best for both of us if he moves on. Doubt he'd want to stick around and be down the pecking order anyway.
  14. Dunno about Zoggy potentially as a striker but I do remember some dreamy composure he showed once in front of goal for the Toon when he rolled his foot over the ball selling the keeper completely then slotting it into the net. Have a feeling it was a 3-0 win v Blackburn but may be mistaken...

Must have high hopes for Airey, Vuckic and Shola mkII up front next season. That or at least another two strikers are coming in.
  16. Good luck to the lad, but five years, wow. Here's hoping onward and upward for both of us.
  17. Not a released list, it's procedure by the FA. Not all these players have actually been released, specifically Craddock and Woodgate definitely haven't yet. I'd imagine probably a few more too.
  18. Aside from mentioning Guitierrez not too much to disagree with there. (Unless Enrique also has a sudden change of heart and signs up).
  19. Quite amazed at the reaction on here to his sale. Did brilliant for us in the Championship and scored a great number of goals from midfield, but surely people must be seeing this as a positive step? They wouldn't be selling a fairly large piece of the Newcastle puzzle without someone lined up to come in instead? You honestly think Nolan would have been happy to be potentially a bit part player next season? The amount of 'ideal' formations I've seen on here with N'Zogbia, Ben Arfa on the wings, with Cabaye and Tiote in the middle - where was Nolan? Since Carroll left he's not had the same influence and honestly in some games he's hindered us as much as he's helped with his engine. I think he's done a great job in the time he's been here in terms of getting us up and keeping us up, but if we honestly have aspirations in moving upward and onward he's the type of player who needs to move on. Yeah, this is Ashley we're talking about and there's a chance everything could blow up in our faces, but why don't we look at this as a positive move which it hopefully will be rather than a negative one? If Barton goes I'll think the same thing, he's done a great job over the last two years but considering his wages and reluctance to sign on again (again likely with lower wages) plus the likeliness to unsettle the camp (which he's already started to do with his Twitter comments) mean if he moves I'll applaud him when he comes to St. James' in another strip but I'll see it as a step forward more than anything else. And yeah, if we're left with an inexperienced team full of foreign players failing to blend together I'll eat my humble pie come the end of the 11/12 season when we drop down a division.
  20. Brilliant news to be honest. On a large wage, is carried to an extent by Tiote in terms of work rate and won't sign a new contract (albeit probably one on a lower wage with less guarantees). Just hope he isn't missed in the dressing room as a leader.
  21. To be fair I always understood Gullit's decision to drop Shearer and Lee. Basically he wasn't in charge of the team at that time, it was more of an 'old boys' club, so the only way he was going to change the club into the place he wanted it to be was by shifting those who had massive influence over the dressing room. Saying that, he hasn't exactly proven since that if he had got his way, Newcastle would have been improved one iota. Some of his signings pretty much summed that up.

    Fraser Forster

Worst story I've read so far this summer in terms of transfer rumours.

    Chris Hughton

'Bout time his spell at Newcastle got him a job elsewhere.
