    Alan Smith

He's absolutely shambolic. He makes up for his the fact he's awful at reading the game by diving in like a lunatic. Butt was doing the same when his legs were totally shot. Just wish he'd move on. I can't see us winning a single game with him playing CM unless the opposition have six men.

    Our away support

So who's Season Ticket forms can I borrow for away games this season then?

    Our away support

Absolutely mental decision. How many 'away' games have we caused bother at in the last five years? Someone needs to find those bloody idiots who ran on the pitch and get them to cough up to £20 odd quid membership fees for every Newcastle fan who can only get to away games, because I'll be damned if I'll pay for their stupidity.

    Shola Ameobi

They ruin it a little by dissin' his penalty taking but all in all not too bad:
  5. Swap Jonas and Marveaux around and you're onto a winner. I think with that formation, having a lefty on the right and a righty on the left is more of a goal threat, natural shooting angle and all that. correct and also why would u break up the obvious connection between jose and jonas. Because Jose's not likely to be here so may as well get Jonas used to playing with Simpson? Likewise as much as I love Jonas, how often in his Newcastle career has he cut inside and taken a decent shot?!
  6. Apparently failed a medical at Brighton which is why he didn't move, now heavily linked with a move to Huddersfield where he'll play under Lee Clark and Terry Mac. If he passes the medical of course. Would assume he'll not be on the flight to the States either way.
  7. Would rather he just stays if no-one offers an acceptable bid to be honest. Don't mind him leaving for a free in a year, I'm sure he'll continue to put in good performances as he'll be aware that the better he plays, the better club he could potentially move to.
  8. It will be, so many times you would you see players double up on him last season because he would be the only one willing to run with it from midfield, Having Ben Arfa should hopefully put an end to so much of that. Hear hear. We've been such an imbalanced side for so long, It became rather obvious that the majority of our attacks generally would come down the left hand side. Hopefully we'll have a bit more natural width now, certainly in home matches.
  9. Ideal decision for me, remember hearing how chuffed he was to captain the side against Depor in a pre-season game. Clearly is now passionate about the club and hopefully can inspire the team upwards and onwards!
  10. If they somehow manage to merge Routledge and Andy Reid into one player they'll be doing well. Either way I reckon Forest will push hard for promotion next season and I'm sure Routledge would have a good season there. Maybe QPR wised up to the fact he's just not cut out for the Prem.

    Owen Hargreaves

Wish him all the success and hope he manages to find a decent club where he can prosper. If his fitness was only 50/50 I'd still take him at the Newcastle. Sadly I'm not sure he's even at that level.

  13. Personally I'd go for this, but then I'm probably putting to much stock in players I haven't seen that much of. Krul Simpson S. Taylor Colccini Enrique Cabaye Tiote Marveaux Ben Arfa Jonas Ba Subs: Harper Williamson Barton Vuckic Tavenier Ferguson Gosling

    Sunderland...

As likely to end up as David Nugent than Wayne Rooney to be fair. Saying that, would have been relatively excited if we'd signed him. Be very interested to see how he develops, could well cost Bruce his job if he doesn't perform by the end of the season.
  15. If so, he shouldn't be. Signing two players for free would balance it out and it enables us to go for one big deal - Sturridge ticks almost every box. Not if he wants £70k + a week. That'll still rule him out of our price range. I'd imagine bringing one player on a significant wage when we've made it relatively clear that's not a direction we're heading in could cause problems. If it's a contract like Ba's with incentives then fair enough, but otherwise I doubt we'll be going for it.
  16. I'm happy to agree to disagree, but yeah, honestly wouldn't want him at Newcastle. Have seen too many Tottenham games over the last few years and have never seen why he's so highly rated. Had a great season a few years back but since then has been inconsistent and just nothing to write home about.
  17. I hate Lennon so much, he's nothing more than a more lightweight, clueless Kieron Dyer. If it was anyone other than Redknapp at Spurs then they'd see that Gio is a better footballer than Lennon. Despite the Champions League exploits had a relatively poor season overall last year as well.
  18. Just because people are lazy:
  19. The fact he's pretty awful anyway means thanks but no thanks. Amazing how defenders have figured out that all he has is pace and a stupid line in his eyebrow.
  20. First time in a while I've been glad one of our players is on ridiculous wages.
  21. His career already looks finished. He;ll see out the final year of his contract at Villa on fat wages and ride off into the sunset. Sadly I think you may be right.
