  1. lee_ryder Lee Ryder #nufc Seb Bassong is in Cameroon so that ends the falsehood that he is the Toon 47 minutes ago Retweeted 51 times I heard Seb Bassong was in Newcastle A few years ago
  2. Luckily Curbshitly is going to be replaced by the one and only Andy Burton later on I'm sure!
  3. I think we'll sign a striker we haven't yet been linked with...
  4. Man Utd with a relatively easy draw. Man City will fancy their chances. Chelsea have a challenging group, but should be fine. Arsenal have a tricky group. I think all English teams should go through though. Maybe not 1st, but 2nd for sure (Arsenal). Overall a good draw - some very good matches lined up. Outside the English games, I'm looking forward to Barcelona vs AC Milan!
  5. If true we must be in for Cissokho rather than Pieters. Up that bid ffs!

Paddy waiting for loan move... get him here! Come on Simmo get some useful networking done!
  7. I too would prefer Cissokho, but Pieters isn't a bad replacement either. Sign em both up! Splash the cash Ash!
  8. agreed. Cleverley also, very tidy - got a superb first touch and ability to find a short pass. decision making, erratic now and then, also looks top drawer on occasion. Throughout his career so far he seems to have often been played out wide right, or as an attacking winger. I think it's great that Fergie has had the confidence to stick him right in the heart of midfield straight from the off. The lad certainly has talent and a lot of potential to become a top player! I was really impressed with Man Utd today - they have a lot of young players coming through. Fergie is a master of the game!
  9. Let's hope that continues as we don't exactly have an eye for the oppositions goal atm!
  10. With a new LB I am confident we can get a win! Krul Simpson Taylor Colo New LB Cabaye Tiote Barton Jonas Obertan Ba If we are struggling to get a goal at 60 mins, bring on the Mackem destroyer - Shola Ameobi! Sunderland certainly aren't Arsenal and we will get a lot more of the ball and be able to implement a more creative game plan. Pardew said Ba was taken off tactically because he felt he needed balls in the box and we wouldn't be able to provide that for him against Arsenal. With a new LB, Jonas will be freed up to attack the flanks and likewise Barton could get some good deliveries into the box. Ba must start IMO!
  11. I can see that happening with the mighty Krul in goal! Only need a couple of chances!
  12. I read that as 5-4-1 - so plenty of security at the back... just little to sting them with.
  13. I don't know enough about Marveaux's game to feel confident that if Jonas commits to an attack, he will cover. Enrique was saved a few times because Jonas could always fill in if needed. That is a very attacking option - if Pardew tries that he has very big balls.... of steal... smacking Wenger around the face...
  14. Who would you put there then? I thought he has looked solid at the back before - more as a CB though.
  15. Based on what I have gathered over the last week I think this might be the line up. Saying that I am throwing in Kadar (I have no idea where this kid has been!). Although Marveaux has had some game time in pre-season, I still don't think Pardew will start him as I don't think he could do the whole 90 mins, however he will get on at some stage in the 2nd half. I also think that going 4-5-1 is negative for our first home game and with the ripping Jonas, Barton and Tiote gave Arsenal in the 4-4 game last season they have all got to start IMO - so 4-4-2 has to be what Pardew will go for. Krul Simpson Saylor Colo Kadar Barton Cabaye Tiote Jonas Ba Best Subs: Harper, Marveaux, Obertan, Williamson, Vuckic, Gosling, Shola This isn't the line up I would like us to send out, as I'd love to give Vuckic a big role, but I think his time will come this season. If Kadar isn't available, which is probable then I'd maybe have Saylor switched to LB and Williamson in at CB - but I think we would be even more vulnerable! Obviously Barton (with the right mindset as Pardew keeps talking about) would hopefully start, but I wouldn't be too upset if Gosling was given the opportunity.
  16. Only just returned to training today. Not sure if he'll actually be fit enough for Saturday. Pardew said he won't be playing as he's just returned to training Thursday - not enough pre-season etc...
  17. He's out of contract in a year. Clubs are not going to pay millions and millions for an asset they can get for nothing in 12 months time. Think about it, man. If only there was a bidding war between Arsenal and Liverpool.
  18. Even if he is in the last year of his contract that's like rape!
  19. Didn't we buy him for £6.3mil in 2007? How much better is he now? £5.5mil is an absolute joke! Must be wrong!
