I'm going to jump to the defense of Spurs. My dad used to support Spurs and although I have always supported Newcastle, I guess I have been brought up to follow Spurs too. I have always wondered why a lot of people on here hate Spurs or 'Spuds', but after reading a few of your comments I guess I can understand. 'They have swapped positions with us over the last few years' 'Those you have spoken to are c**ts' 'They are deluded with their success and hype' But to say that the Spurs fans are one of the only clubs renound for calling us deluded about our hype is an overstatement! Every single club in the premiership and probably the other leagues make us a laughing stock whenever there is some form of hype and rumours circulating about our transfer targets, it isn't just Spurs. In fact of the 10 hours a day SSN is normally on at my house I rarely see a negative comment from a Spurs fan about Newcastle. It's always other clubs - so to direct all the hate towards Spurs for that reason alone is unfair in my opinion. If anything Newcastle and Spurs are similar because of our size and lack of success (amongst all the hype), so is it jealously looming because they have won some silverware? I think we should look past that, because I like the style they play football and I thoroughly enjoy the match last night. I may be biased because my dad supported them, but I don't believe i'm blind to everything Spurs supporters are saying about us.

The man is not an idiot, he knows he needs to gain experience from a couple of clubs before stepping into his dream job. Why jump in and risk his managerial career straight away with the most risky job in the prem!

Bring on Arsenal! For me it is for the best of the club! If we can manage to get a draw or even sneak a win it will be something to work from for the rest of the season! This is not blind positiveness because I have faith that if we perform the way Newcastle are on paper, like we played against the bigger sides (not Liverpool obviously!) we can take on the best! It took 81 minutes for the second string Arsenal to brake us down, but they would rip through most of the other clubs in the prem! We played brilliant football against Arsenal at St James and should have won it, not to mention being robbed even a point on our visit to stamford bridge! I'm sick and tired of comments like: I can't believe you actually support the club!

I have learned to live with us losing due to inconsistent performances. At the end of the day we aren't going to get relegated and of course I would like us to get into Europe and perhaps attract bigger profile players, but look at the likes of Villa, they haven't got huge names but they play as a team and it works! Just give it time and stop calling for Sams head. As for Dukes and Owen being worse than Doyle and Kitson..... YOU'RE HAVING A LAUGH!!! mackems.gif

We won't lose to Stoke and even if we did we should keep Big Sam as manager. The man needs time and we should give it him!! The players on paper are really good, but at the moment they aren't playing as a team/unit. Give them time!

I've gotta be honest, that comment was purely a quote from a mate of mine who is an avid Villa fan and goes to all home games and a lot away. I've just gotta trust his judgment especially when it wasn't just constant praise which is what I normally get from him. But I do recall those goals and he has done well this season. Like I said his first touch isn't bad, but is it consistent?

I went to school with the guy, knew his older brother better... lives football, always out playing it when not in class (that was rare anyway) - but on a negative, he has much to learn about the game and just relies on his pace. His first touch isn't too bad but he is certainly a prospect for the future, not now though!!
