  1. Nice freekick - it should be a corner!! Dumbass Bennett - very clear view!
  2. We need the crowd to pick it up - silence can't be helping the team
  3. Enrique hasn't looked convincing - very hesitant and lacks creativity
  4. Good comfortable save from Given. Although its clear our 2 CB's have no pace!
  5. At least it shows Owen has confidence with him taking that shot on!
  6. lol, blatant hand ball from cacapa! Jenas should have got a Yellow... or Bennett should have played advantage.
  7. Thought big sam said that we wouldnt be playing long ball?? That's all i've seen so far!
  8. I'm glad someone brought this topic up. Fair enough give women equal ops to commentate, but it just didn't feel right. Her voice was empowering enough - I know that you could say that about most male commentators, but think about the very best commentators. Although half the time they talk out of there ass, you can watch the match and have them as background noise and it wouldn't bother you. With this woman, I just could enjoy the highlights. Shocking but true!
  9. We beat Villa 1-0 at Villa Park - Duncan Ferguson scored I think it was December 99' As far as I can remember, that was my first Newcastle game
  10. Actually now that the topic of Setanta has re-emerged - is there going to be a Newcastle TV on Setanta soon? I'd rather that than having to pay for Newcastle World TV on .co.uk every year.
  11. Normally, but I think with this offer I could have sworn the woman on the phone said that she is taking that off because I saw the offer online (I wonder where!?)
  12. Ah why not... Just subscribed. I think they took the connection charge off too?
  13. I would have subbed Butt with 20-25 mins to go and put Emre on - all could have been avoided! Bring on Jan transfer window!!
  14. Big Sam is a muppet!!!! Should of put Emre on with at least 20 to go!!!!!
  15. All this hard work will pay off in the end with cup glory! I've been a Newcastle United Supporter for near enough 17 years and like most have seen nothing but failure. I remember exactly where I was in 96 when we lost it right at the end of the season to Man Utd - damn Tottenham! (If memory serves me right). I am very optimistic about the future of Newcastle and I can see us establishing ourselves as one of the EPL leading teams in the next 5 years. I can't wait until I get to go to Wembley and watch us win in the cup final! I can't wait to see the flowing attacking football of the mid-90's return, but with the addition of a sturdy defensive unit! Exciting times ahead... I guarantee it!
  16. Tbf, I think it's a combination of fully thought out opinions, and letting off steam, amongst other things. I, for instance, do not really hold to my previous comments that Ameobi should be "donated to science", or ground up and used as fertiliser at St James's Park ... and not only because science wouldn't be interested, and there are cheaper forms of fertiliser available. I concur!
  17. I think £30 for away fans is too much! But £55, and for a shitty ground like St Andrews! Utter gobsh*te! I was at the cup game back in January and had to sit with the Birmingham fans because of ticket allocation, but I think my tickets were £20 summit each. That seems about right for all football grounds and competitions. If you think about it, yes sure there is supply and demand issues, but football clubs take advantage of this way too much considering they could offer cheaper tickets and still get a substantial sum of money! If there isn't the demand because of the price, like at so many mid-lower teams, then it only makes sense to offer really cheap tickets and gain greater support! There are so many managers complaining about the lack of support - heck back in January it was Steve Bruce moaning about it in an after-game interview!! I don't think supporters will ever get there way!
  18. We have one of the best 'back up' keepers in the premiership and that's Harper. Given is and always will be, until retired, our No.1 keeper! Well done to Harper while Given was injured, but there shouldn't be any problem choosing the keeper when both are fit.
  19. Over the last few years I have been constantly pissed off with Shola, the guy blames his hips for everything and when he comes back he says... 'i'm back now, fully fit and there is nothing stopping me from scoring goals and getting a regular place in the team' - Well Shola, i'd probably say the only thing stopping you is your ability to play football. Other than that mate, it's all yours! Just regarding the Derby game, the guy missed every header that came towards him, he was out jumped all the time and he was probably the tallest guy on the field, including the keepers!! His control was sh*te and he had no awareness of surrounding players. I hear Accrington Stanley are looking for a bench warmer... maybe Shola can offer his services!
