Tinio - hadn't really done much all match.. don't blame Jol

Going 4-3-3 ... want that win!
-
lackluster and wasteful is an understatement andy!
-
All that hype seems laughable now, but they can create anything out of nothing tbh.
-
Exactly, all the work that he has put in to make the takeover (20mil is pocket change eh?)... He has plans for the club, it's pleasing to see.
-
Cacapa and Enrique are likely to get their first appearances at the first home game of the season against Villa on the 18th. Which is great... I'll be there! Smith will be in midfield (Nobby on bench) and Dukes and Martins up front to start.
-
Seems pretty conclusive to me, already have 27 votes a clear picture of who will be playing in our opinions of course...
-
We have plenty of players from midfield who can cover at FB, either side... but i do believe sam will secure 2 more defenders before the close of the window.

Mr Oliver is clearly a drunked up baboon!

The betters got us down as 6th favorites to win the league, so yeah, 6th...

Yeah, the amount of times you hear, huge interview with '...' right next on SSN, it never is!! It's normally a couple of hours of waiting... they do it to retain viewers, but it's bloody annoying!

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere else, but what about Taylor and Owen? Can't be because of injury because Barton is in the team. There's no way Martins can play just behind the front two. We have already discussed the fact that his first and second touches are poor and IMO his vision is quite poor too. Dukes in holding role with Owen on left and Martins on right. You've got Smith twice...

Well I haven't actually seen the game yet, need to check Newcastle World when i'm at home, but if the 4-4-2 was directionless yesterday it can be different other days, with different players. The beauty of it is, Big Sam can swap and change whenever he feels necessary and he knows how to close out games. 4-4-2 to 4-4-3 to 5-3-2, whatever he decides he will make the players know those tactics inside out!
-
I like both - we can play both and looked very imposing changing it around on yesterday!
-
I'd probably agree with you, Carr seems to be a different player so far in pre-season, but I'd still be inclined to make him the second choice right back because the mistakes he makes are really costly and we can't afford that this season! The season will be a much harder test than the friendlies, no matter who the opponents were. He may be all out to secure a place right now but once the window closes you never know what his attitude will be! Nobby and Milner have been fantastic and have really come through for the black and white in recent seasons. I was so pleased when we managed to pulled Milner back from almost signing with Villa. They are fantastic crossers of the ball and defend well too. Versatility is extremely important in the Newcastle squad, more now than ever and I am so pleased we have a vast number of players, like Milner and Nobby who can offer us more than one position! Yes, we do lack pace in the flanks, but rotations can sort that probably out and Sam seems to have a good tactical mind... I have faith!
-
Ramage, Huntington, Pattison ...... in that order .... wait, what were you asking?
-
I still don't feel comfortable having Ramage in that squad... just don't have faith in the player! We need a RB/CB (Versatility) and maybe another versatile AM/LM (Playmaker)
-
I agree, the chance will be there... it's going to be no easy task as loads of clubs this coming season will have stronger squads! Geremi, Barton Butt, Emre should it not be Geremi, Butt (DMC) Barton, Emre (AMC)
-
Well its the prospect of the champions league and a new contract if he stays at Seville. We can offer more more (triple his current contract) but no european football... however he really wants to play in the EPL and he is 31yrs old, times running out. Still hard to say whether we can land him... I'd say its 60/40 in our favour at the moment.

I know... we're f*****
