  1. Everyone is saying no to it, but the Saudi takeover shows most will ignore their moral conscience when it suits. What rubbish, complete rubbish. You can be a very 'top' club in the Premier league, without being part of the "Sky-invented 'Big' 6 or 'Big' 7. You can win the Premier League and still not sign up to join the Sleazy Six. The whole Big Picture corruption STAINS the sport we have all loved. Sadly "loved" (in the past) is the appropriate word for many of us now.

  3. Interesting. But please dont let this start to play out in the media again. Looking at that though, it looks like new year could be when the case is heard. Nah you missed the killer line - 'Any such process would require pre-hearing disclosure from both parties and sources close to the failed deal suspect the Premier League is anxious to avoid the need to make such revelations. So according to the PL handbook, both sides have 14 days to assign people, and then another 14 days for chair and then 14 days to disclose info. If PL don't want to disclose this could be done and dusted in time for Jan transfer window Absolutely. The wait isn't over, but the wait is certainly a LOT closer to being over, today . . .
  4. The PL cannot just "never let this through". There are rules, and if they do not conform to the rules (whether they are 'their own' rules or not) they can be persuaded to do so, by legal means. That is exactly the stage we are now at. Nobody said it would be quick, or easy, but I do not understand these "throwing in the towel" types. Do they REALLY think like that, or are they just trying to wind us up? Are they like that in their own lives . . always giving up when there is no reason to do so?
  5. I'm not optimistic, never have been and never will be. What I am is "realistic". AND me . . . ;D
  6. This was always the expected outcome. What an odd thing to say. What? er um . . . I'll give you 24 hours to work it out

  8. Shock !!!! They DENY everything, and add a few pathetic insults to show their absolute class !! (See You In Court)
  9. I agree there is a real danger of this happening. Just from my own observations about the Premier League as an organisation, I think this is VERY unlikely. Having said that, neither do I think that the P L will come totally clean with the documents / information they provide. Much further investigation and probably more than one lot of Legal Action (beyond what has already happened) is likely to be needed.
  10. Never dream. What an inspirational speech. If only MLK said I don’t have a dream instead... I met MLK here in Newcastle on 13th November 1967. He made the people around him realise that the ONLY way to prosper was to dream forcefully and to achieve those dreams by influencing others and working hard to succeed. I may not be able to influence the outcome of this takeover, but I hope I may have influenced a few on here to dream! I have tried. When you say met, and given your optimistic outlook, do you mean like I've met Alan Shearer loads of times at St James Park? I would not have said what I said if that was the case. On 13th November 1967 he received his Honorary Degree at Newcastle University (the only UK University to give him that award during his lifetime) and he visited the house I lived in with my parents in the morning before the ceremonly. My parents spent a lot of time with him and I was introduced to him. He was inspiring that day and continued to be so thereafter. Sadly, he was assassinated only 5 months later, but that November day in 1967 did have a noticeable impact on me. Class, don't know if you're involved with the Uni at all but, if not, there's a statue of him on campus now. Oh yes, the unveiling was all part of "Newcastle Freedom City 2017" . . . https://www.ncl.ac.uk/press/articles/archive/2017/11/martinlutherkingstatueunveiled/

  13. As you know, there most certainly is. Whether it is ultimately successful or not, is another matter.
  14. It is, as I keep on saying, all happening quietly in the background. With the 'quality' of buyers we have, and this has now been added to by the 'quality' of the legal teams they have assembled, then it seems totally illogical to think that we could possibly even come close to failing to be taken over by the Consortium. IT'S HAPPENING . . . we just have to WAIT.
  15. Clearly a man of taste. Bet he gets it from Di Meo's down Whitley. Probably explains his motivation for the takeover. The guy who knocked off the Seaton Delaval Ice Cream place? I wouldn’t even give him the satisfaction of going there. By the way, it’s not the same. For what it is worth, AS is very much still involved and at the forefront of the takeover. Good news, good information. Thanks.
