The negative interpretations are based on the previous 13 years of Ashley. We can't have nice things. I struggle to comprehend why certain posters can't understand why other posters think the worst? The over the top "Oh, mark my words, this is 100% happening" posts are really tiresome. There is middle ground in all of this but those posts tend to get ignored. So, my view. I really really want this takeover to happen. I want to see the back of Ashley and believe this is the only (realistic short-term) way. However, regardless of how much Ashley wants it, Staveley wants it, PIF want it, the evidence, removing wild assumptions and guesswork, point to the fact that the PL have an issue with it. At the end of the day, it's their process, it's their "club". Unless something dramatic happens then I can't see this going through. There has been no word from anyone that an appeal is going to happen (let's hope it does) and the only thing we know is a proven liar has released a statement about "considering options". It's great to have positivity but it's also sensible to be realistic. That's the basis on the, as you call them, "negative" posts. Not really, not at all in fact! Realistic posts (hopefully not ignored) are such as those from me where I keep on saying . . "things ARE happening, wait for the outcome (not before) then we will know".

There are a lot of people on here indulging in their usual "negative interpretations" after Ashley's Statement. I do not know why? Anyway, the message remains almost exactly as it was before last nights statement . . . "The deal is (still) far from dead, things are happening behind the scenes, all we can do is WAIT for the outcome"
-
Thanks, much appreciated. All I want, all I ever wanted, was for this great club of ours to get the chance it deserves. The deal was obviously never dead, I just said that we should WAIT for the outcome. We have it now, or at least the "beginning" of the outcome. I certainly didn't expect it to break out quite so dramatically though, but "off we go" . . .

Yea I’m a bit baffled by this. That’s how I see it too. You can't "sue" until the bid is first rejected. You can't "appeal" until there is something to appeal against. That is why everyone (well, some of us) are so positive now, even a little bit more positive than we always have been. If you don't get accepted when it clearly (Chelsea/Man City-wise) should be, then a clear rejection is the next best thing. That Club Statement by Ashley leaves absolutely NO room for doubt, none whatsoever. He wouldn't have said any of that if he wasn't very, very certain of his ground, and by that I mean his 'legal' ground. Off we go !! Someone take the haribo off this guy. There’s positive and there’s you. Fair play Good Grief

Seriously? Did you read the club's statement . . . "This conclusion has been reached despite the club providing the Premier League with overwhelming evidence and legal opinions that PIF is independent and autonomous of the Saudi Arabian government." "The club and its owners do not accept that Premier League chief executive Richard Masters and the Premier League have acted appropriately in relation to this matter and will be considering all relevant options available to them."

YES indeed, this is what has been quietly going on (as it always should have been) behind the scenes. NO, this is very much the exact opposite of "over". This is what all of them (Ashley/Staveley/PIF/Reubens) have been waiting for, this is EXACTLY what they have been waiting for (if it wasn't an 'acceptance' of the bid) and now they can all get stuck in !!! Forget MESSI . . . this is going to be MESSY !!!!!!!!!!!! You are like a bairn that’s had too much sunny delight and haribo. Good grief !!

Well Ashley cant withdraw his bid as he never made one. PIF who did make a bid have very publicly withdrawn theirs's. I believe it is the clubs responsibility to inform PL that the bid has been withdrawn and thereby the bid is no longer with the PL, this has not happened. Frustrated with the process they did, however it has been reported that they would be back like a shot if guarantee of green light was given. My opinion is this was a tactical move with no other option available to them. The weight of evidence again in my opinion suggests there is still mileage in this, local journalists Caulkin, Douglas and Liam Kennedy have all reported this. Correct again, but expect a load of stick from those who do not realise what is going on.

Going to be some awful flashbacks for him when he steps foot in Sunderland. Ha ha, yes, he will soon be "yearning" for the good old days !!!

The "Chronicle Headline" says that, but the article just repeats what I have been saying on here - that there hasn't been any announcement/confirmation yet !! Not really said that though have they. No they said: Takeover off, silence from the top: Newcastle fans struggle to see the point of it anymore “...deal collapsed in acrimony. Even the consortium didn't blame Ashley (this time, they said pointedly)” https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/takeover-off-silence-top-newcastle-18869385 Yes, as said, we just need to wait to hear the outcome. Guessing and speculating (whichever way you personally might 'want' it to go) is pointless. If we wait, we will (eventually) be told the outcome. Not really said that though have they. George Caulkin clearly stated it wasn’t dead yesterday. Completely correct. No reason to say "not this AGAIN" because it has ALWAYS been this, nothing has changed. We need to wait for the outcome.

Why do you keep ignoring we have heard from PIF already? They're out. They were funding 80% of it. Of all the parties involved that's a pretty f***ing big one to get that statement from. And if everything else reported or commented on is BS, that means we ignore all the s**** being spouted about how it's now being handled 'behind closed doors'.. right? Because even AS and the Reuben Brother's ignored it? Manopark is getting some totally uneccassary grief here. Just an optimistic bloke who is excitable and wants the best for the club, so what if he's slightly annoying with it? Some serious projecting going on in here you bunch of incels. Yes indeed, all I am saying is because we have not been told anything about the final outcome, we should just wait (instead of 'jumping in to say it is dead, etc !!). No one knows what the outcome will be, so lets just do the obvious "waiting" thing, yeah? The hope of this takeover is the only thing that connects me to the club. Once I'm satisfied that this is dead I don't think I'll be following the club with any real seriousness. If there's even a 0.1% chance of this happening then we should be fighting for it till the very end because we already know what the alternative is, so why the f*** would you accept that? The irony in all this is that the same ones who are slating you for being "optmistic" (realistic imo) have given up and accepted that, much like the fans who go to games who they also slate for that very same reason. Yes, I think the "pessimists" on here just like to have a go at me, and others, just because we explain things factually, and because we do not join them in their eternal pessimism. I am going to stick with the facts as they are, until we hear anything else. You have never once posted 'facts' in regards to the takeover. In fact, you deliberately ignore one of the few facts we publicly have available which is the official withdrawal of PIF There has never been an official withdrawal, just a public statement, and we all know that could have been made for various reasons. I am going to stick with the facts as they are, until we hear anything else.

You want to know my age, why? Because I get the feeling you’ve seen us under a number of different owners, yet you still have a belief that something positive is coming. Just wondering how you maintain that belief after everything you’ve seen? You’ve witnessed us actually win something, no? This Staveley/Reubens/PIF takeover is different from anything we have seen at NUFC since I have been supporting them. If there is one thing that I have learnt in my time following NUFC is that my club (and my great City) should be doing a great deal 'better' than we historically have. Uniquely, we have it all in waiting, we just need someone to flick the switch. Apart from feeling that it "had already happened" (ie, the deal was done) this whole thing felt like a perfect fit, it was 'certain' that the switch WAS about to be flicked, it felt inevitable. It felt like the "best" owners were finally arriving at the "best" club. It is difficult to imagine (after all that) that this will not happen, so I am just going to "wait" until we hear - definitively - one way or the other. We have NOT heard that final outcome yet.
