Yes, excellent summary of the current position. There is still a lot of 'takeover activity' going on, perhaps more so than at any other stage of the process. Eventually we will be told the final outcome by one (or all) of those actually involved. Meanwhile, though the massive enthusiasm for our great club that I have had all of my life has long gone, I will still watch our team play football with some interest, if not with much pleasure !!

Exactly step forward your friends at NUST who seem to have given up and gone on holiday. I’m completely out of order on that, apparently. Which one of you two was Godzilla on here? That’ll be Cheesy beans, however more to the point do you now accept the takeover wasn’t dead ? Your credibility along with a few other on here is now zero. Maybe you should delete your account and come back as Frank Pingel, oh hold on that’s already taken, maybe Rob McDonald he was pretty useless aswell. What are you on about? I said the takeover wouldn’t happen. I’m right. Why would you ask someone to delete their account? Bit weird that. You are (sort of) "right so far", but we all need to wait for the final outcome and (as Ashley's recent statement shows very clearly) we are nowhere near that stage yet. You think there's more to play out? I assume you said that as a joke / wind-up. But (to play your game) It has hardly started yet, we just need to WAIT for the outcome, not "interpret" at too early a stage.

"Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs took the opportunity of their "Daily Zoom Conference" with Masters, to express their total love and affection for him" (probably ) Express their love? More like "Who pays your wages Ricky? That's right....now this is the script you will read out to the press..." Yes, an equally accurate way of putting it!

The negative interpretations are based on the previous 13 years of Ashley. We can't have nice things. I struggle to comprehend why certain posters can't understand why other posters think the worst? The over the top "Oh, mark my words, this is 100% happening" posts are really tiresome. There is middle ground in all of this but those posts tend to get ignored. So, my view. I really really want this takeover to happen. I want to see the back of Ashley and believe this is the only (realistic short-term) way. However, regardless of how much Ashley wants it, Staveley wants it, PIF want it, the evidence, removing wild assumptions and guesswork, point to the fact that the PL have an issue with it. At the end of the day, it's their process, it's their "club". Unless something dramatic happens then I can't see this going through. There has been no word from anyone that an appeal is going to happen (let's hope it does) and the only thing we know is a proven liar has released a statement about "considering options". It's great to have positivity but it's also sensible to be realistic. That's the basis on the, as you call them, "negative" posts. Not really, not at all in fact! Realistic posts (hopefully not ignored) are such as those from me where I keep on saying . . "things ARE happening, wait for the outcome (not before) then we will know".

There are a lot of people on here indulging in their usual "negative interpretations" after Ashley's Statement. I do not know why? Anyway, the message remains almost exactly as it was before last nights statement . . . "The deal is (still) far from dead, things are happening behind the scenes, all we can do is WAIT for the outcome"
-
Thanks, much appreciated. All I want, all I ever wanted, was for this great club of ours to get the chance it deserves. The deal was obviously never dead, I just said that we should WAIT for the outcome. We have it now, or at least the "beginning" of the outcome. I certainly didn't expect it to break out quite so dramatically though, but "off we go" . . .

Yea I’m a bit baffled by this. That’s how I see it too. You can't "sue" until the bid is first rejected. You can't "appeal" until there is something to appeal against. That is why everyone (well, some of us) are so positive now, even a little bit more positive than we always have been. If you don't get accepted when it clearly (Chelsea/Man City-wise) should be, then a clear rejection is the next best thing. That Club Statement by Ashley leaves absolutely NO room for doubt, none whatsoever. He wouldn't have said any of that if he wasn't very, very certain of his ground, and by that I mean his 'legal' ground. Off we go !! Someone take the haribo off this guy. There’s positive and there’s you. Fair play Good Grief

Seriously? Did you read the club's statement . . . "This conclusion has been reached despite the club providing the Premier League with overwhelming evidence and legal opinions that PIF is independent and autonomous of the Saudi Arabian government." "The club and its owners do not accept that Premier League chief executive Richard Masters and the Premier League have acted appropriately in relation to this matter and will be considering all relevant options available to them."
-
YES indeed, this is what has been quietly going on (as it always should have been) behind the scenes. NO, this is very much the exact opposite of "over". This is what all of them (Ashley/Staveley/PIF/Reubens) have been waiting for, this is EXACTLY what they have been waiting for (if it wasn't an 'acceptance' of the bid) and now they can all get stuck in !!! Forget MESSI . . . this is going to be MESSY !!!!!!!!!!!! You are like a bairn that’s had too much sunny delight and haribo. Good grief !!

Well Ashley cant withdraw his bid as he never made one. PIF who did make a bid have very publicly withdrawn theirs's. I believe it is the clubs responsibility to inform PL that the bid has been withdrawn and thereby the bid is no longer with the PL, this has not happened. Frustrated with the process they did, however it has been reported that they would be back like a shot if guarantee of green light was given. My opinion is this was a tactical move with no other option available to them. The weight of evidence again in my opinion suggests there is still mileage in this, local journalists Caulkin, Douglas and Liam Kennedy have all reported this. Correct again, but expect a load of stick from those who do not realise what is going on.
