  1. What I find weird is that every time I read something like this, even if I know it is from an . . er . . "unreliable source", I feel in my bones that it is TRUE, and I get all excited. Like this time, I can't wait for 3pm tomorrow, as I now KNOW that the announcement will be made then . . I know it !!! Yep, weird.
  2. I would have thought that Amanda ("PCP Capital Partners") will have this sorted. The money would be passed to her (and she would run off with it . . . joke) and would then be paid over in one fat lump to the other fat lump.
  3. Cynicism? Why? Surely if the Takeover is completed and the NUFC world changes forever, any 'cynicism' would go out the window.
  4. As should Coppers of Gosforth. Usually use Rehills as it's about a 45 second walk for me.......dangerously close. Coppers is at the bottom of my street, literally. Definitely ('hic') dangerous . . but seemingly I like danger !!! It's at the top of my mam and dads street- always nip in for a pint when I'm back up and usually end up spending about £30 on cans to take home. Drew the owner is a cracking lad as well. Coppers has got better and better over the last five years or so.

  6. I’m at Defcan 2 still. Defcan 1 is Cans. Sky breaking news reporting Poch favourite to take over from Bruce. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, was just about to report that. Makes the deal look like it is 'done' doesn't it !!
  7. Right, well, that's it for me. I'm just gonna PRETEND that all that is totally true, because I really want it to be, and I can't wait in limbo any longer. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Even better, a live interview with Amanda Staveley, Jamie Reuben, and a member of PIF, in front of St James' Park, on the BBC and Sky Sports News, etc. THEN we will really 'feel' that it has happened !! Social distancing! Yeah, fine, they can stand 6 feet apart . . . whatever !!!!!

  11. Actually there are three: Grade I, II* and II. About 90% of all listed buildings are Grade II, about 7% Grade II*, Grade I is for buildings of exceptional significance. Architectural and historic significance come from more than just aesthetic value but you need new eyes if you think that Leazes Terrace doesn't stand out, it's a stunning example of Georgian architecture. It's obviously a nice building but compared with Westminster Palace and York Minster, which are also Grade I, they're not really up to much. That being said, I've absolutely no doubt that a building conservationist would recoil at what I'm saying because, like I say, I don't actually know what I'm talking about and obviously there's significantly more to such a designation than sheer appearance. Grade 1 listed buildings are, in simple terms, a building that is deemed to be of exceptional interest and may also have been judged to be of significant national importance. Grade 1 listing is usually reserved for much older and historically-important buildings, such as cathedrals, castles, towers and town halls. There are around 6,000 Grade I listed buildings throughout England and Wales. Here are a FEW examples of Grade 1 listed buildings in the United Kingdom; Albert Dock, Liverpool The Palace of Westminster, London Royal Albert Hall, London Royal Festival Hall, London (the first Grade I-listed post-war building) York Minster Blackpool Tower Leeds Town Hall Theatre Royal, Newcastle Leazes Terrace, Newcastle Albert Dock, Liverpool Warwick Castle, Warwick (Warwickshire) Dock Tower, Grimsby Lilford Hall, Northamptonshire

  13. Newcastle is a very large UK City, we are at the centre of the 6th largest conurbation in the UK, with a population within the City Boundary of 300,000, which is large but is small compared to our 'real' population which is understated statistically because of the "weird" local authority boundaries we have had since 1974. All of (for example) London is "in London", whereas here, large parts of "obvious built-up Newcastle" are for administrative purposes managed within North Tyneside, South East Northumberland, and Gateshead, hence the "population stats" are unrepresentative of reality. I have sometimes heard this "Newcastle is a small City" statement (when it obviously isn't) in the past, and usually it is because people are actually only talking about the City Centre. Some people call the City Centre "Newcastle" to the seeming exclusion of the rest of Newcastle. We do have a very 'compact' City Centre, but that is only less than 5% of the City of Newcastle. Anyway, I agree, we must keep the ground in the City Centre !!!
  14. Fabricated. They have NOTHING new to write about so - heyho - why not write some more (duplicated) DRIVEL !!!
  15. Would you not need to re-route the road to get access to the RVI ? Is possible via Leazes Park Road or St. Thomas' St but would be unpopular with some. Would it not be possible to keep the access from Barrack road open, but curve the road so it goes straight up under the Milburn Stand? Stifleaay - I have sent you a PM (now called a "conversation" !) on SkyscraperCity.
  16. The main Town Moor will never (ever) be used for any further developments. The "Freemen of the City" control it with a rod of iron (as they say!) and they feel they have ALREADY given up far too much of the Moor, for . . . Fenham Barracks, Exhibition Park, Nuns Moor Park, Newcastle United Golf Course, Leazes Park, and (of course) St James' Park. However, some way 'detached' from the main Town Moor is the "Castle Leazes Town Moor" area, now that smallish area may perhaps become available, providing Leazes Park itself isn't damaged, and is perhaps even extended, as Sir John Halls 1997 plans were intending to do.
  17. Definitely NOT in Leazes Park, that would be awful. The same location as in the 1997 plans (shown earlier in this thread) on the area of "Town Moor" that is called Castle Leazes Moor, would be my choice every time. If we have to move at all, that is !!
  18. There is clear "excitement" shining out from many of the recent posts on this thread. It is fantastic to read them. People actually talking about the subject of this forum . . . FOOTBALL. Oh, and of course Newcastle United Football Club in particular. Very soon, very, very soon, all that pent up anticipated excitement will become reality. Hold on tight everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Thankyou for the support mate, I was starting to feel that I had been wrong to post what I did, yet all I was saying was exactly how I felt about this frustrating situation, as our critics piled in (one after the other) against us. I was (and am) very worried about the way things have gone over this last week . . and I thought others would be too. Your post is much appreciated.
  20. I now realise that we (NUFC) have a lot of enemies. Enemies who will do / say anything to stop us. Enemies who have suddenly discovered a 'conscience' so that they can blame us for something we haven't done. Enemies who say that they (most certainly) have always had this specific conscience. Enemies who lie. Enemies who say they are not telling lies. Enemies who exaggerate things and make up convenient 'links'. Enemies who say they do not exaggerate things and do not make up convenient links. Enemies whose inane, bigoted, collective hatred towards us, makes ME (I am a real person with a REAL conscience) no longer care about the rights and wrongs I have all my life held dearly . . I now just want to BEAT these fanatics with every bone in my body. I want to just beat them, no matter what, and WE WILL BEAT THEM.
  21. Again, as in so much from this seeming endless supply of bigoted idiots, the only appropriate word to describe them remains as . . FEEBLE !!!
  22. You want to try the at what cost thread. Your stereotypical Football supporters have changed quite a bit. Unless it’s just on here? It IS just on here! Nowhere else is influenced by some of the weird comments that appear on that thread. Reading that thread convinces you that all the evils in the world have been (will be) caused by our Takeover. It is feeble, to put it mildly. It's funny you say that because most of the people I know in real life, including a woman I work with who's been going to matches since the mid '80s, are dead against the takeover or just as conflicted about it all. I don't think it's fair to judge the support overall because it's just as it's been for the entire time I've been supporting the club - split. You want to try the at what cost thread. I always find when I talk to people with views like yours (in real life) that NOTHING that I or anyone else says to them ever sinks in, but the same type of self-assured words come back at me, time and time and time again. I should not have responded, as I knew what I would get back. This is the end of our conversation.
